Hey guys, Do Australia have anything called Cable Visa? Please someone should educate me, please. |
ukraine55: I will make it a duty to update this forum about life here in this Island as a foreign student, so that others will learn from it. stay tune and watch out for more update.Start now. Living cost. Lifestyle down there. Politics. Any means for a legitimate seeking individual to rise? what's the business industry like? |
adigunomomama: thanks brah...smile, dont mind me.By road. Better still you can fly direct to Tanzania. I'll check some airlines for you. |
This man must have used strong words on his members when he was alive. Glad to read his wife now knows wassup. He's dead and gone ! |
I remembered when Wip told me about Mauritius and his kid bro's experience, I knew its a good place to study. ukraine55 I wish you all the best bro. keep hanging in there. God will see you through. |
adigunomomama: Bro pls I need there latest tourist visa requirement...maybe I can disflowered my virgin passport wif dem instead of Kenya. Is your passport a lady? Me think its only ladies they do disflower? Go to Kenya visa free, from there you can enter Tanzania visa free as well. $50 at each POE. Mind you; you need more information in order to get to Tanzania from Kenya. All the best |
ukraine55: Life is tough, racism here is even more than that of europe, the people here are purely evil, like i said earlier if you are here to spend your hard earn money, you are welcome but to struggle with Mauritian for a job slot you are in for for the shock of your lifeHmnnnn Diff strokes, Diff people. Thanks for sharing. |
ukraine55: The most funniest part is the way Agents together with few Nigerian students here keep panting MauritiusYou're damn right about that. Its not easy telling some people what they heard elsewhere is false. All they want is, do the visa for me when i get there I will surely succeed. So, how is studies down there? Hope you're hanging in? SHALOM |
ukraine55: Don't let anyone fool you, working in hotel as what? are they on study permit or working permit? there is no hotel here that will employ a foreign student on a study permit, what the hotels normally do is that they will request for students contacts and call them whenever they have big function that their staff cannot accommodate the workload normally on weekends, apart from the fact that the hotels are scared of immigration because they risk paying heavy fines if the authority uncovers it, there is also issues of language barrier, though they also speak english, the most widely used language is french and 98% of the clients are from french speaking countries. You're right. Not ever Nigerian comes there as a student. |
ukraine55: You will only enjoy Mauritius if you are coming here to spend your hard earn money for two weeks or a month holiday relaxing and enjoying the beautiful beaches, hotels and malls, apart from the above mentioned, if your plan of coming here is for a job or studying, well i will advice you search elsewhere maybe Europe. Mauritius has only two public universities, and hundreds of study centers running UK qualifications such as ACCA, ABE etc, but if you have made up your mind to come here, make sure that you have a financial source available that will see you through your studies, including your feeding, accommodation etc, as there is no job in Mauritius to help you survive, though there is 20hrs work permit indicated on your visa, you can only work legally after getting approval from the ministry of labour which you have to appy for.I have two clients in Mauritius working in a hotel presently Though, the earnings is nothing to write home about, 50-70k per month but its what they like for themselves though. So, I guess there are jobs (few though) and the pay is not that big. SHALOM |
LOS ANGELES (AP) — Inspectors at Los Angeles International Airport seized an unusually slimy package — 67 live giant African snails that are a popular delicacy across West Africa. The snails — which are prohibited in the U.S. — arrived from Nigeria and were being sent to a person in San Dimas, said Lee Harty, a spokeswoman for the U.S. Customs and Border protection. The snails were confiscated July 1 and a sample was sent the next day to a federal mollusk specialist in Washington, D.C., who identified them as a prohibited species, Harty said. The mollusks are among the largest land snails in the world and can grow to be up to 8 inches long. They are native to Africa and can live for up to 10 years. The U.S. Department of Agriculture incinerated the snails after they were inspected, Harty said. The animals are prohibited in the U.S. because they can carry parasites that are harmful to humans, including one that can lead to meningitis. The snails are also agricultural pests, said Maveeda Mirza, the CBP program manager for agriculture. "These snails are seriously harmful to local plants because they will eat any kind of crop they can get to," Mirza said. The person the snails were destined for is not expected to face any penalties, Mirza said. She said authorities are investigating why a single person would want so many snails. "We're investigating what happened, but it doesn't seem like there was smuggling involved. When someone doesn't know a commodity is prohibited under USDA regulations there is usually no punishment," she said. Although the agency has found one or two snails that may have accidentally gotten into a traveler's luggage in Los Angeles, this is the first time that they have confiscated the snails in such a large quantity, Mirza said. http://news.yahoo.com/giant-african-snails-seized-los-angeles-airport-174803958.html |
