bigwizzy001: I've been thinking to learn French will be a big hurdle to scale as its not my first language. I don't know more than Je mapelle & bonjour. How am I going to cope? Will I still need to sit IELTS if I'm going for TEF option or just TEF? Before I jump into your question, I would like to first ask what your current CRS is, have you max out on the IELTS?, If you haven’t I would suggest maxing out first before we talk of TEF. Now to answer your questions, I wouldn’t say learning french is easy but I believe whatever we dedicate time and effort into would turn out positive. And just like you write only IELTS, same applies to TEF but combining both greatly increases your points. At the end of the day it all boils down to how badly you want this, but what I can assure you is that it’s possible and definitely worth it. Goodluck. |

bigwizzy001: thanks... I want to register for PGD at NOUN so I can boost my CRS score. Hope NOUN post graduate diploma is acceptable ? I would have gone for masters degree and enter the pool by the end of 2020 or early 2021 but my fear is my age. I will be 34 by 2021... What should I do? If you really want to boost your score why don’t you learn french and write TEF. I don’t think that it would take upto a year. I’m just saying as 2021 is a long time from now. My 2cents |

Alobay: House please help. I want to do WES evaluation for my MSc, but I am surprised to read on WES website, demanding for my West African Senior School Certificate and saying it must even be submitted directly to WES by the appropriate examining body for evaluation. WES even said no evaluation will be completed without the final secondary examination results. How can one go about that? How can I get WASSCE to submit my certificate for me? Please help I would advice you to use WES if and only if your MSc was obtained from a foreign country then you really don’t need to evaluate WAEC, else use ICES |

ontarioissauga: It appears she would like to get an ITA with her 476CRS score, at least to justify the sweat on her second IELTS.
forevermine: Wow. Does God not have a sense of humour?
So yesterday I posted I was waiting for next week's draw not knowing one will be held same day...
The real story is this. Hubby and I wrote IELTS with BC in September. I was initially meant to be the primary applicant. Results for hubby: LRWS- 8.5, 8.5,7, 7 while mine was 7,8,7,7.5. With this, plans changed. Hubby became the PA and we landed a CRS of 441 because of his older age.
We waited patiently in the pool and I can't forget the feeling of disappointment I had when the next draw came out to be 442. I narrowly missed the one prior(October 15th) which was 440 because i just didn't know how to create a profile and the whole concept of a GC key due to certain circumstances(story for another day).Meanwhile hubby had told me from the day the results came out to register for another exam but I stubbornly refused and assured him we should be patient as I was sure we would get ITA looking at the previous trends.
That was how the subsequent draws came and were 445, 449 etc. At that point of 449, I "borrowed myself brain" and just had to register again on November 16th for the December 1st exam with MOD, leaving me with just two weeks of preparation. I really felt bad because I felt disappointed in myself that I had to write it again(I like to set high standards for myself, I had never written an exam twice all my life) plus I had to travel and leave my kids who were ill with their caregivers, but with encouragement from hubby and friends(and of course, God's mighty grace), I gave it my best shot especially the listening. I realised that in the first exam, I used only ieltsliz for listening and never knew about or practised any module with a map/graph so it was very much to my surprise and chagrin to flip open the pages in the exam hall and see a map. That tipped me off balance and that was where I lost it. But this second time, I practised a lot of listening tests with maps and graphs with a variety of materials especially Cambridge IELTS and I'm thankful for the result: LRSW- 9, 8.5, 8.5, 7. My new CRS score is 476. I was waiting for my TRF to enter the pool only for us to get ITA yesterday.
What's the lesson I've learnt here? Anyone can fall but it's best to pick up the pieces and try again. It's also good to consider the opinions of others as they may be speaking with foresight or from a point of wisdom. Using prime selected materials for studying is also key. One can also learn from the experiences and mistakes of others.
The irony now is that hubby has gotten ITA with his score of 441. But he feels I should be the PA since I'm more organized and adept with handling such issues which would require lots of correspondence. Confused much! In the meantime, let me start gathering all documents and paraphernalia. Good luck to everyone on this journey. We shall overcome!
Abi. @ontarioissauga. From the way I see it she has two simple options 1. Decline the ITA and go back to the pool. Update your new IELTS result and you’d definitely get ITA in d next draw. 2. Stick with the current ITA and guide hubby with all the paraphernalia. At the end of the day, it’s your choice. Either way, u’re good to go |

Na so I registered for the 2nd(BC) in Lagos. Mehn! We managed to start around 11am owing to large crowd of takers. Na so dem start with Writing first o, followed by Reading. Everytin was going smooth until we were abt to start listening, it actually took them abt another1hr+ to arrange the speakers & headphones, then in btw na him some people begin say they wan use toilet. Na him the examiner said no way 'cos actually we running out of time already, this was around 2pm already. Like play like play, na him commotion start o. In fact a guy bragged he would slap the lead examiner(a woman) and rained loads of abuses at her all cos he wasn't allowed to use the toilet. Las las, the woman succumbed o, come see as people begin stand up one by one to use toilet, in fact myself & wifey had to join too(lol). Am talking of abt 500+ of us o! My people, we began the listening part around 3:30pm and I tell u I lost track of nothing less than 10 questions cos at that time, everywhere is completely rowdy. So please, I think it's better if u can find your way outside Lagos will be ok couple with the several reasons sighted earlier. I was in that test center. September 29th BC Mainland(Sheba event center). That was my first IELTS. I just sat calmly dey look d drama |

brainy4oli: Is it possible to do medicals ahead of time before ITA? Do the medical centres ask whether you got ITA or whether you have an Express Entry profile? (I have neither of them). I don't want to waste anytime after I get ITA. I have not yet gotten my ECA now but my CRS will be above 460 after ECA; so I am sure of ITA. If you are that sure ITA then I would advice you to book the next available date for medicals. But remember, if you get PPR you have to land before your medicals expire and it’s valid for a year. |

Hello people,
So here is my experience today, just in case it might be of help to someone.
I did my medicals today at q life. Had an appointment and I didn't want to reschedule since I heard they were fully booked till March. In my opinion, it was pretty straight forward. I got there some minutes to 10am and I wasn't called till about 12ish. Those that cane in very early were done around 10 - 11ish. They follow a first come first served process so it was orderly. Again I would advise ya'll to read page 1, the entire process has been outlined in details, so you know exactly what to expect.
Finished medicals about 2ish headed straight to Alagbon for PCC. Was stopped by some guys in police uniforms at the entrance and I told then what I came for, they asked the country I was travelling to and if I was doing for someone. Then we went to d main thing, price. I told them I was referred from NL and I was told it was 4k. The guy told me bring 5k but I told him that's all I had. I went further to tell him how I was told to call Inspector Moshood and how I have hidden number. He sha consulted his partner first then asked me to follow him. He kept on saying hope I've not called Inspector Moshood, I reassured him I haven't and took me to fill the form and do my fingerprint. Currently waiting for the PCC as I was told it would be ready by 4pm.
After this we wait for North Cyprus PCC next week and IELTS result on the 13th, it shall all end in praise. |

Hello house, Someone cannot leave you people for 2days and come back to meet you guys. Been trying to catch up for the past 2days. We did about 12 pages yesterday and going at that pace, this part will be closed by early January. Una Weldone
Unto more serious issues, the remark of my IELTS reading from Sept. 29th came back unchanged. I guess I now have the closure I need to rewrite. Registering for Dec. 1st, would try MOD this time. At the same time, I’m still pursuing my North Cyprus PCC. Submitted Authorisation letter to Turkish Embassy Abuja. I hope to get it by Tuesday. Special thanks to @Temas for showing us the way.
Thanks to every one that dedicates time to helping others on this thread, and to those like me still battling with one thing or the other, lets keep the dream alive, it shall end in praise. |

Sommie20: I need people's experiences on remark on IELTS. Does a remark usually guarantee a higher score or band. LRWS: 7.5, 8.5, 6.0, 8.0
I need my writing to be remarked, I feel that I ought to have a higher score.
Opinions on remark is appreciated. You can request for a remark of the writing but you would still need to retake the test in order to max out on your listening. Remark for listening hardly changes. |

alwayspositive8: Thanks for this.
First attempt:LRWS- 7.5,8.5,6.5,7.0. BC 18/8 Second attempt : LRWS - 8.0,6.5,7.0,5.5. MOD 29/9
What actually amazed me was that my strength has always been reading I felt I did very well even to level that am currently thinking of a remark cos I kept wondering how I could I miss close to like 14 questions in that test to warrant a 6.5 in reading but when I read that getting an improvement in reading is difficult I just weak.
And for that speaking,am also having issues being that I did so well in fact i probably did better in the second attempt than in my first attempt when I got a 7.0 ...imagine 5.5 telling me am an average user of English.
Though still thinking of paying the 46k for EOR for both reading and speaking(which I doubting whether is a good option considering the cost)
Since I got that result am just in a dilemma of what next to do cos this last result really damned my confidence.
I just weak. even if am to write again should I just go back to BC or stick with MOD cos the score I had in speaking for MOD has started making me to have some negative feelings about them. I perfectly understand how you must be feeling. I also just got my result LRWS - 8.0,6.5,7.0,8.0 (1st attempt)(BC) Reading was the easiest in my opinion and I was so sure I would get atleast an 8.0. I am planning on going to their office tomorrow to ask for a remark but that 10 weeks waiting time scares me. |

My people, IELTS wants to try me oo. Wrote the 29th September BC(1st attempt) and the result just came out. LRWS 8.0,6.5,7,8.0. The thing is I was scared of the listening cos I couldn’t quite figure out the answers of a particular section(15-20), but definitely not reading. I am sure of the writing but I can dash them that one but not the reading. I was expecting a 9 or 8.5 not a 6.5. Anyways, I want to apply for a remark of the reading, please what is the process like? |

I just created a profile on WES and my highest qualification is Masters in veterinary medicine. Do I need to evaluate my DVM result also? would that increase my scores? How about the secondary education am seeing as no 1. You advice would be greatly appreciated. thank you all. I don’t know much about evaluating your DVM results but this is what you should know when evaluating your masters using WES. If it is a foreign masters then you don’t need to also evaluate your WAEC, else you would have to. Though I am not sure of this and you would have to confirm it but I think those in the medical field have a different evaluation body and process. |
