ogb5: don't take what people say on NL to heart, online personality of many people are different from what they actually are in real life.

I was like thinking maybe she rejected your approach, just my thinking sha, if true, try a different approach
I disagree with that belief. Most people's off-line personalites may not actually be like their on-line personalities but their on-line personalities are a reflection of how they secretly wish their off-line personalities are thus their on-line personalities have a big chance of manifesting in their off-line behaviour sooner or later in life.

So when you see people throwing bombs around the place, bullying, and hating on others, just know that the person behind the moniker has some pent-up emotions he/she is unleashing through the anonymity of a face-less forum.

NL kids have turned a thread meant to celebrate a family into their mud play ground.

OP sorry jare. I can imagine your irritation at the moment.

Congratulations!

Honestly, I have not always agreed with Wole Soyinka, but in this case, I am in full support.
PEJ knows too much about Rivers politics. She says more than she should say on issues as a first lady and my dears, if you know people that knows what happens in Abuja, you will so hate that woman ehn!
I have never seen a more greedy woman in my life! In fact, she's actually the corrupt one among the Jonathans.
May God help us!

Shakslayer: Haven listened to arguments and counter arguments from counsel and representatives from both parties to the case on ground, I hereby give my verdict.

That #teamPEJ has not been able to convince Nigerians, both at home and in diaspora on the validity of their case.

That #teamPEJ has failed woefully in its obvious attempt to malign the person of Prof Wole Soyinka.

That the paid 40 laptops from Abuja have only succeeded in portraying the present generation of Nigerian youths as a morally pervert people whose reawakening bogus puritanism is as grotesque and as absurd as its pretentious eremitic insensitivity.

That #teamWoleSoyinka, haven exposed the greed and ignorance that is characteristic of #teamPEJ, has not only succeeded in opening our collective eyes to the truth, but also, pointed a way out of this shambles.

I have therefore come to this conclusion. That PEJ is guilty of gross misconduct in her verbal attack on the person of Prof WS. And therefore sentenced to a 25 year intensive English language course at a reputable university abroad.

The 40 paid laptops are to have their laptops seized and Internet disconnected for 5 years, as well as tender an unreserved apology to WS on his 79th birthday.
The court shall rise!

olatomiwa: Pity! This forum has been infliterated by paid publicists from the Presidency. It is soooo obvious
Too obvious!
I started suspecting this from the day I saw a thread about people going to jail for insulting top politicians.

It is either the 'laptop crew' have duplicated their IDs here or they have bought over or intimidated people here to join the GEJ campaign.

It's obvious they are now competing for likes on NL! Lol!
These people ehn! Anyway, no be their fault, power sweet wallahi! And the crumbs falling from GEJ's table are enough to make their generations comfortable.

Thank you. The secret is that I exercise my brain a lot, I think ahead and I read between the lines not just what's on the surface. I also have a VERY independent mind.

ShyM-X:
Can you please give me a concise unauthorised biography of the guy, his crime(s), and why loads of people are interested in this topic? The thread looks like a packed ghetto cinema after boyz n the hood came out. grin
Na wa o! true true na small pikin full NL pass. I doubt you are more than 21 if you have such little knowledge of this man and the case.

Ayway, as for me, I don't have much to say about this judgement as I have mixed feelings about it.
Funny enough, everbody here has valid points to make regarding their beliefs of how the judgement should have been.

It is true that Al-Mustapha should not be made to suffer completely for following the orders of his boss. dont't forget we are talking about the military here where your oga at the top is like a god to you! You dare not disobey!!!

It is also true that he should have tried to avoid carrying out the order even if it meant resigning. Afterall I doubt he would have killed his own father or mother on orders!

It is true that although he should not have been sentenced to death for following orders, he also should not have been requitted just like that.

It is also true that GEJ most likely has a big hand in this, either to score points in the north for 2015 or to cause confusion between the SW and the north, thereby causing chaos in APC.

And it is true that GEJ might have just let things take it's natural course.

Most importantly, it is true that this might and I believe it will go a long way in taming Boko haram.

So I remain undecided about how to recieve this news.

Only time will tell.......

Gamesmart: I am pretty sure there is no way a legal document asking you to pay a sum (N250K) for wanting to discontinue employment will stand up in any sane court. More so since the N250K was not given to you e.g. as joining bonus or golden handshake.

Worse still, when the company has not lived up to its responsibilities, expectations and promises.

Don't be conned by some useless contract that is not valid. LEAVE!
Exactly!

Who da hell is that Natasha lady? If she enjoys and is grateful for little odd jobs, it doesn't mean everyone else should be, especially those who know their worth!
Mtcheeeew!

@ all, I really don't know why Nigerians like to have this mentality that you must do office work. Why can't you start your own business?
See, let me tell you something, salary is slavery. Simple and short!

Yes, I work in a reputable company and all but I will be off to start my own thing as soon as I have laid down plans for my own business and gotten enough capital (I don't want to start small and I want to gather more experience)
Only a 7-figure salary can stop me from doing my own business full time.

Guys don't dull yourselves. If Dangote did it you too can do it. Your time starts now....

Obiagelli: You even have time to answer that silly question, acn has chosen from pdp since you guys like to vote mediocre over decent people.
Great minds like utomi, gani fawehinmi(hope i got the spelling), ojukwu have all contested under very great ideological parties but you have Always turned them down
Abi o! Sentimental bigots!
They will see a capable candidate from a smaller party yet they will choose to vote one from the bigger party because they don't want to "waste their votes!" That statement so annoys me ehn!
Tribe and religion also plays a major role too. ACN and other parties knowing this too well, know when to pack up and go.
Very sad!

Awake9ja: are you alright? maybe you are not living in naija else I will invite you to go to akwaibom etc and see things for yourself.

all this fashola media hype is realy getting into some folks life, I live in lagos and I have visited akwaibom many times so I can differentiate media hype from reality.

last 2 weeks my Yoruba friend also argue with me on this issue of fashola better than akpabio but I encourage him to take a vacation to akwaibom instead of Abuja he plans to go.

later he did travel to akwaibom when he return he just say "Akpabio really did a lot of good job but fashola is not doing bad at least" and "infact Tinubu is evil he don't allow fashola to work" stuffs like these.
You are the one who does not live in Lagos. What part of Akwa-Ibom did you visit? Uyo I guess? Did you visit Oron, Mbo, Okobo, Ikot-Abasi, etchuh
Uyo and some parts of Ikot-Epkene are the only places Akpabio is working on! (However I admit that does not change the fact that he's the best governor Akwa-Ibom ever had) You cannot compare that to Fashola that has touched at least 2/3 of Lagos! Even areas where we once believed were hopeless such as Oshodi and Ajegunle!
Like I said, please go to the Uk or US and ask about Fashola, Akpabio, Obi etc and see who will be most popular.

BekeeBuAgbara: Acn supporters should please answer this question
Lol! Whenever ACN steps down for a PDP candidate, it's just plain politics! ACN being the kind of party that does not like to loose out in major elections have most likely weighed options and considered fields knowing that the PDP candidate will have a higher chance either by incumbency or support from the power brokers. So don't get too excited!
Christianity EtcRe: Can You Kill For God To Prove Your Faith? by Sweetlemon(f): 3:02pm On Jul 07, 2013
illicit: @sweetlemon and co..... This post is meant to ask u, that if u were Abraham then wud u av gone ahead to kill isaac, or u wud av simply reasoned dat nobody or deity shd demand d death of ur son by ur hands and thereby blatantly refused.
2. Its is more of tempting rather than test, cos abraham has a bigger chance of refusing if he had resoned wella, if he had refused then he hadnt listened or beleived God, God wanted to test his Obedience at d same time tempt his reasoning.
3. The cases of jephtah, samuel and rlijah who slewed baal prophets in d bible, they all did it for God, boko haram of today are listening to their God like samuel n Elijah did in the bible...... If it can happen in a holy book, why cant anybody claim nw dat dey are gettin d same instructions?
Back to the Real question, it meant to ask that if u are Abraham n thereby human who has no ability to knw dat God wont let him do it eventually, wud u have attempted to kill ur son to prove ur obedience?
Ok, now that you have put the question in a better way, If I were Abraham at that point in time before the blood Jesus was made available, to be sincere, I don't think I would have passed the test o!
I would have begged God for mercy!
That is why I always thank God for the blood of Jesus which has saved us from all these kinds of things...
Christianity EtcRe: Can You Kill For God To Prove Your Faith? by Sweetlemon(f): 2:11pm On Jul 07, 2013
Poster, you used Abraham as an example of God asking people to kill to prove their faith without remembering that what he did with Abraham was just a test and that he didn't even allow Abraham kill his son at the end but provided a ram for him to use.
God no longer gives such tests anymore, he no longer asks for any kind of blood sacrifice even from animals because he has sent Jesus Christ his son to die for us. Jesus was used as the ultimate blood sacrifice, after which he was risen from the dead. So why should he ask for another sacrificehuh

You guys really need to study your bible. Really. Most you here don't know nada about the Jesus/ God you claim to worship.
Christianity EtcRe: Can You Kill For God To Prove Your Faith? by Sweetlemon(f):
obadiah777: DEPENDS ON WHAT YOU MEAN BY CHRISTIAN. YOU DO KNOW CHRISTIAN IS A DEROGATORY WORD USED ON THE FOLLOWERS OF CHRIST IN ANTIOCH. ITS A SLUR. ITS NOT A GOOD WORD. ITS LIKE CALLING THOSE WHO GO TO OYAKHILOMES CHURCH, THE OYAKHILOMITES. OR THE TB JOSHUITES. OYEDEPITES, CHRIS OKOTITES
Na real wa for this guy!
One minute he's making sense, the next he's talking like the demons in the world have cast a spell on him!
Look here mister, the name Jesus Christ is not the same with Oyakhilome, Adeboye or any other man! Jesus is the son of God!
Upon all the verses you have been quoting, you still don't know jack about the bible and where it says that Jesus is the way, the truth and the light/life.
Do you know why we are called Christians? It's because Jesus is the VERY reason for our faith! That's why we are called Christians, by whose blood we are saved.
Hope you understand

Royal Roy: You dey mind the DUMBFUCK?

I believe it will be a real tough search indeed!!
Fashola's shoes are so big to fill!!!!
I pray the search deeply without sentiments to find the best man/woman for the post!!!
Exactly!
It's going to be one tough search! But don't worry, I'm sure Tinubu and co are smart enough to know that they need to find someone as good as Fashola in order to retain Lagos and even garner more support from other Nigerians in other states.

PHIPEX: Doesn't the highlighted sound like the short term quick-quick solution of the military era that landed us in the problem we have today? If PDP got worse after 14yrs then APC may complicate the situation in years to come, maybe we'll start searching for a third mega party. If APC wins in 2015 what happens afterward? Are we not going to be left with 2 PDP like parties competing over who wins more loot? I will prefer to have to contend with one devil than multiplying the devils in the polity. I need a better option not another complication.
Abegi! The people we have in CAN are much better than the ones in PDP.
Look at it this way, the worst PDP governor is much worse than the worst ACN governor. The Best ACN governor is also better and more world-wide known and celebrated than the PDP goveernor.
Oya, work it out yourself
PoliticsRe: APC, Danger To Nigeria - Ezeife, Ex-Anambra Governor by Sweetlemon(f):
As long as GEJ continues to give juicy "contracts" to Tompolo, Asari, and co, same people who have killed and maimed countless people unjustly,

As long as the general standard of living of the average Nigerian still remains low, (when I mean standard of living I mean access to good water, constant electricity, quality education, quality health care, decent employment, good roads etc)

As long as the present govt continues to shy away from probing openly corrupt people like Farouk, and flaunt some of the most corrupt officials and "friends" of the govt,

I am still 100% ACN/APC!

I am not saying GEJ is a retardeen or anything thing like that (I don't even like those names) I'm just saying I want something better.

If the prophet is taking apart your concept of reality then you may have to reassess your position and thinking.

Capitalism is inherently satanic

Your forefathers were not capitalists so how did they survive without MONEY

Survival is the key word here

And just like in the time of joseph the prophets are telling you again that money has failed and the implications this time around are like nothing mankind has ever experienced before.

But it will take the spiritually inclined to discern.

Are you prepared?

This is quite tricky o!
It will be a good thing to know that you are loved for who you really are and not for what you have. There's always this empty feeling of knowing that people love you simply because of of your money! I don't envy that at all!
On the other hand, those of you choosing love have never tasted poverty before and what it can do to even the best of the best relationships/marriages!
Having said that, I will choose love if my partner is going to be one who has the potentials to make money. If not abeg give me the dollars mbok!
Life is too short to suffer biko!
