Who are the dullards calling channels TV an Apc owned stuff? Just because John Momoh would not lick pdp @ss does not mean his Tv station is owned by apc. Channels has won numerous awards as the best Naija honest and unbiased TV station. It has reported good and bad stuff about both partiesin the past without caring whose axe is gored. So you pdp people stop telling lies that its an apc organized debate u are only worried that gej is getting tested on neutral ground without expo to expose how dull he might really be. Shior

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Immigration Tragedy: Refund Our N1,000, Youths Cry Out by swiftycool(m): 9:06pm On Jan 29, 2015
Heyaa so nothing has been done about this issue ? But i thought an allowance receiving committee had been set up since to look into this issue of gross injustice and corruption against our ever aspiring youth.

These young ones worked hard, kept sleepless nights, travelled on dangerous roads, some borrowed money to be able to register and make it to the venue yet they all lost out?
This is very unfair! And more so to even discover that a large number are nairalanders makes me feel the pain closer to heart.

It would've been a "save face" move to at least refund their monies even if it were just to score some political points. This govt is really heartless!

Sorry o, young ones, the Lord will take care of u when those that ought to fight for you have irresponsibly kept silent.

Am an advocate for change and I believe we need to start weeding out non performers, curropt officials and part dummies out of government.
In my opion I would support a combination of ex performing governors an excellent example is Donald Duke/Fashola as president and VP or vice versa. I don't bloddy care what party they come under, ill join that party tomorrow if they decide. In that goverment people like pat Utomi, Oby Ezekwesili, the present agric minister, Buhari and other previous performers as ministers would be great.

Even when our govt. Collaborates with the world to fight against the development of this great nation, Nigeria's great people keep popping out, U guys aint seen nothin yet, soon all those Nigerians secretly yet tirelessly being discouraged by our govt thru international interference would all come out to manifest and we would eventually become a truly independent giant amongst nations. This would soon happen and is the international comunity's greatest fear.

Congrats to Dr Abalaka, even if many have given up on Nigeria, we can NEVER give up on Nigerians!

Travel / Re: On Nigerians And The 'must Travel Mentality' by swiftycool(m): 10:55pm On Sep 28, 2014
I wouldnt blame or discourage anyone who wants to migrate to a more organised country than Naija even if they just have basic educational skills. Nigeria and Nigerians generally have a low value system for human resource unlike o cther advanced countries. Many of the young ones looking to get out of this country are aware that in a country where physical labour is appreciated and well enumerated , even with very little skills they can hit the ground running.

I run a company in Nigeria and see every morning eager hardworking but disadvantaged young men who craved for the education many of us on here boast of but they were unable to attain due to limited family resources or other factors which a good goverment ought to have helped with. These young men arrive very early to site hoping to get any manual labour work, such people are in very high demand abroad and the longer hours they work the higher they are paid that you might not even be able to differentiate between them and those in a white collared job.

Hence op there is nothing wrong with a person leaving Naija for greener pastures without attaining "big cerificates" as those countries have a nitch for even the not too bright and treat them quite fairly.

The Bible makes us understand that at a time in future generations which has actually been found to refer to our present day and times; that the Spirit of the Lord shall be poured out on all flesh making Sons and daughters prophesy, old men shall dream dreams and the young men shall see visions.(Joel2:28)

The bible also declared that those in Christ shall decree a thing and it shall come to past!

So here's the thread where you prophesy what 2014 shall be for you, your personal dreams and visions, or what your Spiritual guide (pastor) has prophesisied about the theme of this year for you. May it be onto you as you decree.

C'mon let's hear them! Happy new year

suarezgerrard: OGSG COME TO OUR RESCUE AT ONIHALE / ILEPA / PAKOTO / FESPAC ON DEMOLISION OF HOUSES.

Please government intervene in the ongoing surge at onihale/ilepa (ifo/Abeokuta) Interchange. Over 250 hectares of land have been claimed under the auspices of economical development. Government officials showed up recently and showed up again to mark our houses, hospitals, schools and town hall for demolition. Please, kindly intervene as the community is undergoing an undefined threat. over twenty thousand people are going to be homeless. we have been given 24hours to vacate our property.

One of the primary responsibilities of the government is to provide decent accommondation for its citizens, but when the reverse is the case and the citizens are taking over the eresponsibility of such government, if such a government now decides to demolish what the poor citizens have used their hard earned money to build such government is not democratic, responsible and progressive. OGSG this message is for you. Senator Ibukunle Amosun, we voted for you, don't demolish our future.

This is serious! Though it is completely off topic on the issue at hand, I suggest u start a new topic and get the mods to make it front page to alert members of public in order to get to the root of this issue and ensure justice! This is a new year and we won't let people ride over the defenceless. Hurry now.
Good luck

Chillisauce: OP! you have a good heart! don't let anyone tell you otherwise. She left you while in school and not the other way round, that means you probably still got feelings for her and would want her to do well etc. even considering giving the husband a job smiley.

However, Good you haven't crossed the line yet. So just stay off her. Don't just block her or change contact. Warn her not to come close anymore or you will report to the husband.
If you just draw backwards without letting her know why, she will still stalk you. Maybe might get you in a tight corner.

Keep your head up.

Thanks a lot for your advice, you came out not judging me in a bad light and seem to understand my true intentions, u probably read my first post with a clear and unbiased mind noting my actions and I really appreciate it.

Family / Re: Why Do Poor People Give Birth To Multiple Children? by swiftycool(m): 10:27am On Dec 12, 2013
Probably because most poor people can't afford gadgets to use in passing time or fun, hence the free time they get which is quite much is spent in the bedroom. Rich ones on the other hand are often busy looking for more money and when at home have a variety of hobbies to pass time with especially in these days of hi tech video and music gadgs, ipads, laptop, internet, cinemas, gyms etc. so many of them and less time spent in bed

dinachi: @ OP sorry I may have to sound blunt. I think you want to sleep with your married ex. How can you continue to allow a married woman to be talking dirty to you? When did you decide to employ the husband before or after the dirty talk and the promise of carrying your baby? Some men are very wicked and heartless. Do you think every condition is permanent? May the almighty help that man to get a job and divorce that woman, she is not worthy to be a wife. As far as I am concerned, she is already cheating. It all starts from the mind and you aided and are aiding it. get out of here with your hipocritical help and may your wife talk dirty to another man and promise to carry another man's baby secretly. Lets see whether you will accept a job from such a man. You are not trying to be good, you are just trying to justify your wanting and possibly sleeping with another man's wife. I wish you are close so i could land you a well deserved punch in the face!

I expected some pervert to come up with this stupid assumption and gladly you didn't dissapoint! For your information if you are the kind of person who lends out a helping hand only for what he can get, then sorry am NOT like you, I do it out of the blessings I've received and to make it multiply!

At the momment I am way above in exposure, class and level of my ex and NO I am not interested in sleeping with her nor did I encourage her dirty talks, most of which I asume were expensive jokes which I frowned at in the chats!
I even discussed with my woman about this before I brought it to NL and she agreed I employed him as she believed her tactics were due to desperation, however I came here because I am sure to meet people with some experience who can give a better advice not silly insults.

So dinachi or whatever you call yourself keep your insult, curses and silly responses to yourself and if you desperately need to show your agbero punching skills I suggest u go to a motor park where ur ilk abound.

Thanks everyone else for your valuable advice its much appreciated.

bellong: As advised, the best shot you have at helping him is if you can fix in a different company from yours.

Meanwhile, do all you can to cut off communication with the lady. She may become desperate one day to do what is not pleasant. By that time, you would have gone far with her and it will be a story that touch.

Family / Re: Should I Employ My Ex Girlfriend's Hubby In My Company? by swiftycool(m): 9:26pm On Dec 11, 2013
Ok, thanks for replies so far but another question here is if I decide not to employ the hubby do I still have to sustain the financial help I secretly provide to aid her business or cut off all those as well? She has really tried sustaining the business but their needs as a family seem to be cripling it. Besides I can't sustain this for long as I need to account for my incoming and outgoing funds too. Hence the thought of employing him as a money generating resource rather than the liability of dashing them free funds just seemed sensible.

itsmelex: Please in the name of whatever God you pray to,call him and give him the job.But also let him know about what you both had back then but you really love to help out as she chose him.Make him appear ok and please tell him he can be on it till he gets something else.
I guess it is about the friendship right, pls keep respecting her home but dnt also make him feel she asked you.Relate with him man to man,he'll feel ok trust me and since you have some sense of reason this will help keep you incheck that she is taken

Honestly speaking I had initially made up my mind about offering him the job even with some extra perks I wouldn't normally add, however I am worried about what might happen if they like get into a disagreement or quarel in future and the tendency for the wife being how she is to remind the guy of how she got him fixed up or comparing him to me her ex, who's now their benefactor. Am a man and know it could b very painful to hear that from your wife.

My ex girl friend from Uni fished me out on facebook and we got re-connected on BB, phone and all that. I discovered she got married last year to a guy she met 4 months prior and I made her know I was really happy 4 her.

Recently however she has been constantly chatting with me on BB day and night, talking about regreting why she left me then, saying all sorts of stuff like she regrets her marriage to her hubby, claims she's the one fending 4 him and keeping the house with her job and little business as he's been unemployed since b4 the wedding. She also started begging for money and giving crazy signals that she's still in love with me, talking dirty stuff like she would want to have secret meet ups with me and is determined to secretly carry my baby!

At a point I started limiting my contacts with her, though I sent her money to help support her home for the time being without her hubbys knowledge.

Lately I started thinking what if I could employ her hubby in my company cos am in need of an officer 4 a generic role which he could easily fit in. I told her about this and she got excited but when she kept on with the dirty talks and the disrespect for her hubby 4 needing my help, I started to think maybe I spoke too soon. I really don't want to mess up the guys ego or do anything to spoil their home. So am thinking not to offer him the job, or should I?

Pls Matured pro-family oriented replies only

Thanks

Each time u hear stuff like this while at the same time read news that Nigeria presently has up to 100million people living below the world recognised poverty line, you wonder where all the money goes, I guess its a growth to benefit capitalists with the help of their croonies in Government as well as expatriate companies brought in by Govt to milk Naija dry and repatriate funds back to their native countries. While the average Nigerian is just getting worse off.

Hmmm you even got 13likes, I wonder, what course exactly does one have to study to become president? Hmmmm maybe "presidentship" as far as am concerned Gods hands on a president is only evident when the president is divinely prepared and doesn't turn out to be such a big screwup in many areas as is presently the case, perhaps this one probably wasn't God's actual chosen one :-/ but men's choice

I have great respect for men like these who the spoils of office cannot buy. They rather look corruption in the face and say no to those encouraging it deciding to resign rather than sit tight in the midst of slimy dirty goons and be a part of it. very much unlike some female minister who is out there fooling herself and acting like a kid when taking decisions over serious issues in dire situations.

Travel / Re: Nigerian In Diaspora Faces Pressures From Home by swiftycool(m): 2:11pm On Nov 02, 2013
Though this story has some iota of truth in it, its not really as bad as most make it seem. And truth be told not all families are like Ayo's many are like Diva's.
Besides if a person is wise he can live a very comfortable life in a place like Uk yet still have savings to take care of other stuff.

Ayo's job as a security officer is paid way higher than minimum wage if he has his SIA license and unlike most other jobs he is needed to work at least 9hrs, 5 to 7days a week. If he is modest and gets a moderately affordable flat at a convinient distance from work, shops for groceries at reduced to clear hours daily, depends on the cheaper bus or train monthly ticket service 4 transport, goes clothes shopping at 50 to 75% off during each seasonal sales period he would find life a lot easier.

Mind u, if u calculate the average Naija nepa bill, plus daily generator fueling cost 4 home and work, monthly costs of getting water into your house added to tenament rates, land use charges, personal security cost as well as Estate utility costs u will realize that the UK bills people cry about is not as bad as they say if u factor the ammount the people are making here and there.

Also note that healthcare in Uk is free as well as school fees for d kids to high school level.

This act ought to be condemned completely otherwise it would become a bad precedence for many more such acts to follow. Every government needs critics to help ensure a balance in actions carried out. It is only a sign of a very desperate, unintelligent and weak leader to use threats, force or detention intimidation to silence its critics.

Politics / Re: Igbo-Youths Protest Against Oduah's Sack In Enugu by swiftycool(m): 12:16am On Oct 29, 2013
Its quite unfortunate that serious issues in Nigeria are judged with a tribalistic views rather than rationally. It is very shallow minded of a person to defend a crime committed by someone just because he or she is a fellow kinsman, likewise it is very depraved of someone concluding that another is guilty of a crime which has not been out-rightly proven just because such person is not his/her fellow kinsman. Stella may have done much good in her job, however if she is guilty of a crime she ought to face the law.

I charge people to look beyond tribe and speak against corruption nomatter who is involved just like the Yorubas booed Bankole when he got his hands dirty, Igbos should be true to speak out against their kinsmen if they are in the wrong. (This is not to say Oduah is guilty or not as its yet to be proved)

Each time Nigerians keep encouraging each other that the country would soon be great, i get motivated but then i come across a thread like this with even hitherto assumed intellectuals getting down and dirty throwing aside all they strongly believe in just all in the name of tribalism, I just throw my hands in the air, and almost give up.

Mark my words if Nigerians cant put away tribalism and corruption, it can never be better than it is.
