leonard509: some girls use sex or rather intimacy and even money to make a guy love them .....@ my dear readers, hav'nt you noticed such situations? From your explanation or rather your description the lady in this case seems quite smart while the guy is being foolish. Its just normal for a go getter to go all out 4 what he or she wants using what he/she has and that's why smart people always dominate fools. Maybe you really need to think about the topic and once again asess the players in context. It takes a big fool of a man to come out complaining that one girl "chopped"his money after being fooled that she was in love with him and it takes a fool of a man, shy guy or not to be forced into a relationship with a lady he doesn't like, abi what do you think? |

vladimiros: The last statement you made is true but look here Mr Man stop kidding yourself! First of all, Most of the people ruling you and many of their own children that are preparing to come and rule you did not even struggle for many years in this country before they got into power you would be surprised that most of them have dual citizenships in some of these countries where they'll eventually retire to (Dieziani, Okonjo Iweala and various ministers). Also many of the big industrialist employing your families in large quantities had their most valuable training in saner countries and came back to establish cos they can get cheap labour here, even their children abroad are still coming back to boss over you . I speak to any young man or woman now, who wants a good future for himself to seek the best place in the world possible to develop themselves and gain valuable experience as much as possible after which you can return if you decide but if those other countries value your professional output more than your beloved country ever did, STAY THERE AND MAKE THE BEST OF YOUR LIFE! For your information vladimiros, the famous MIKE ADENUGA left the country for several years to study towards gaining his business knowledge and while at it earned a living in the USA as a TAXI DRIVER for a period of time. Today he has provided a source of living for millions of Nigerians including those you know dealing in glo recharge cards. if you think the small talent you have that brings you a few kobos is all that, why not go to the best places in the world to develop it. Wether you admit it or not, Naija has failed its younger generation, and there are many other countries that value outstanding educated Nigerians a lot more than our so beloved Naija does. 17 Likes 1 Share |

maurice1: What about UK Unfortunately UK has somehow fallen from grace to grass in terms of immigration choice especially for Nigerians as they have continue to set up very difficult policies for migrants recently with the new Conservative govt. in power. UK seems to encourage students for their money but are quick to push them out after graduation and quite recently seem to be discouraging even visitors into their boarders with their £3000 bond issue. However these stringent measures seem to be based on the fact that they are still in a way recovering from the very recent recession and unemployment rates there are just beginning to reduce. in other news UK is still a very good place to live, with a good percapital income rate as well. Id say you give them some time and maybe they'll may make it back on the list |

twaintoy: Good morning good people. Please who knows canada very well or who lives in canada here? I have discovered after visiting the website that i am not qualified for the federal skilled jobs listed there. My question is, how can one get a job in canada from nigeria? And ofcourse, getting an employer that would sponsor the nigerian employee. I studied mass communication with a second class lower. Please, adequate response(s) would be appreciated. Thanks. @twaintoy I have seen your post for quite sometime and was hoping someone else with more adequate links might be able to help you out with a more appropriate answer to your query, so unfortunate nothing has come up. However, here is an encouragement, canada has many other immigration programmes specific to its different provinces as well as various skills shortages in those areas you might need to check on those . One way of getting into Canada is through family sponsorship to specific Canadian provinces especially Manitoba, where you dont need a job to be nominated. You can settle and look for a job. But am suspecting you have no close family relative in Canada. specifically for you now, have you considered getting into canada as a self employed professional based on your 'mass com' profession, you can come in as an independent reporter, writer or teacher. Please check this link out and take time with your fiancee to think about it and see if it can be your sure bet http://www.allpointsimmigration.com/self-employed/ Good luck |

Big.game: Sorry ive been off this thread for quite a bit, ill try to answer a few questions here In order to apply for a Canadian student visa you must: 1. Provide the letter of acceptance to a school, or post-secondary institution that has accreditation in Canada, 2. Have proof of funds that will suffice for living expenses, tuition, and travel costs (to and from Canada) for the applicant and family members accompanying the applicant, 3. have no history of any criminal offences, 4. have good health and if required, be medically examined, and 5. have applied for Certificat dÕaccpectation du Quebec (CAQ) if the desired course, whether it be a short-term course or a course that surpasses six months, is situated in the province of Quebec. Along with the above requirements, applicants must demonstrate that the objective of coming to Canada is to study and that they have the intentions of returning to their country of origin once the program they are in has been completed. In certain circumstances, along with the student visa, the acquisition of a temporary resident visa (TRV) may also be required to be eligible to temporarily reside in Canada. NOTE: Prospective students need to prove their mastery of English language through the IELTS testing system |

A Nigerian pastor earlier this year warned those in power, their families and associates that those whom they have neglected and impoverished while in power would be the ones that would eventually laugh at them and scamper for their wealth in a most desecrated way. if this occurrence is some sort of prophesy fulfilment we might be expecting similar cases in months and years to come. In a sane nation where the people are cared for what is sacred would always remain sacred. . . . its just so sad in this case |

yhomz093: I need your advice sir, I just gained admission to study psychology BT my dream is to become a medical doctor or any related discipline although I left science when I was in ss2 BT I can't erase the feeling of becoming a doctor, I feel it's too late coz I'll have to rewrite waec Young man, you still have many years ahead of you and you need to know that the making of a dream has a lot of twist and turns, delays and so on but your eyes on the prize is what motivates and gets you there. Medicine is a very specialized and technical course and you need to have an established foundation for it, hence if you don't have the basic requirements at o-levels, it might be quite difficult to cope on the course later on. Am afraid you would have to return to WAEC for your phy-chem-bio and maths if you are really serious about it. Congrats on your admission into psychology, do you know that the best doctors had some form of knowledge or training in medical psychology to effectively relate with their patients and help them to recovery? Hence no knowledge is really lost. However be sure this is where your strength lies rather than force yourself into a profession because of the perception you have about it or what others have forced you to desire or believe. its very emotional reading the posts of many of our young ones up in here, Your dreams give you the driving force to always keep focused and strive towards what you want to become. Amongst you guys I can see the next generation of surgeons who would save lives of many, Engineers who would invent stuff and make life easier, statisticians, accountants, lawyers etc, all set for the future of Africa! But here is some advice: 1. Along the line of your career you are going to get frustrated in many areas and you would be tempted to give up or settle for less, my advice is DONT! Keep focused on what you want to achieve and spend 70% of your time doing something towards preparing for that dream or at least related to it. 2. You would get some seemingly sensible but actually very stupid advise that may debar you from achieving your dream due to the lure of money, that's why today we have many of our best graduating engineers and doctors working as senior bank cashiers or lawyers and scientists working as actors depriving us of their expertise which they cannot get back to due to time lapse. 3. If you must venture into a vocational training, learn something most related to your dream profession, Many Architects, builders, engineers during university strikes had to go to building sites as labourers/apprentists for bricklayers, carpenters, iron benders etc, Some of the best sales managers during strikes got employed as marketers for various products in their hey days, As a chemical engineer, lab scientists, biochemists etc get temporary jobs in factories that deal with the manufacturing process, mechanical engineers go to a local mechanic workshop and learn etc all these are valuable bespoke training areas for you. 4. Many of you are not hundred percent sure what you really want to be but have actually taken what fate seems to have thrown your way, check within while you are in your present career for talents you have or problems you can solve naturally a whole lot better than even people trained for it, now go through the internet and seek for companies looking for such talents and how various individuals have used the same talents to become outstanding impactors and millionaires there my friend is your real career direction you can still make a career change, focus on it and you would eventually blow! 5. Most of all if you are able to afford it, leave Nigeria to any other country that would not politicize education issues thereby destroying your future. You get to study in a welcoming environment and compete with the best of the bests and afterwards you can decide to come give your expertise to Nigeria, if not you might end up eventually as an overgrown yet inexperienced guinea-pig that the job market is desperately trying to avoid. Hahahaha! This bros calling masons illiterates! am sure you have not really gone close to one. Many of these so called illiterates would comfortably read a building drawing calibrated in metres and off hand convert it to millimetres, feet or inches depending on what they are comfortable with and implement it scaled 1:1 on the ground. Now i can bet my balls you, the op would look like the illiterate if asked to do this same calculation that a bricklayer would easily do. Also never mistake a bricklayer/mason's competency of laying blocks/brick with the expertise of a builder, engineer or Architect as the latter are actually trained to calculate the strength and structural stability and implementation of the most complex structures we can dream of. In many situations that mere artisans were called to handle a project, there are two things often involved, either the waste of materials or under use of same leading to building instability hence collapse or crazy project cost and time over runs. There are many things an Engineer can do to proffer solutions to problematic building environments or failing buildings which any artisan does not have the slightest clue about. Now a building is lifetime and expensive investment, you decide whose hands you would put the technical development of this investment. 1 Like |

twaintoy: Ok. Seen the list but mine isn't among. I studied mass communication and i presently lecture as an assistant lecturer in a state polytechnic. My fiance studied mass communication too and presently works in a bank. Please, what are our chances of migrating to canada? We filled a form with Jonathan King Limited today. Would love to know if this agent is real? Well, your other option of immigrating as a worker is possibly securing a job in Canada and get your employer to sponsor your work permit application. I cannot tell you honestly if Jonathan King agency that you signed up with is authentic or not as I dont know them, however i am aware that there are agencies who can help seek for jobs directly from Canadian employers even though the occupation might not be listed above, but based on the clients qualifications and experience they might be able to get an employer who is willing to employ the client and sponsor the work visa application. Jonathan King may be one of such |

twaintoy: What about Canada? What are the requirements? Not as a student though. Canada is a good choice and as earlier explained one of the best countries to migrate to, however to immigrate to Canada as an independent worker you would have to pass an eligibility points test and might have to apply through the Canadian Federal Skilled workers programme; This skilled immigration program is for people in a range of different occupations; If you have skills and experience in occupations listed on the Priority Occupation List under the Canadian skilled worker visa category you will not need sponsorship by an employer. Here's the current list for 2013: 0211 Engineering managers 1112 Financial and investment analysts 2113 Geoscientists and oceanographers 2131 Civil engineers 2132 Mechanical engineers 2134 Chemical engineers 2143 Mining engineers 2144 Geological engineers 2145 Petroleum engineers 2146 Aerospace engineers 2147 Computer engineers (except software engineers/designers) 2154 Land surveyors 2174 Computer programmers and interactive media developers 2243 Industrial instrument technicians and mechanics 2263 Inspectors in public and environmental health and occupational health and safety 3141 Audiologists and speech-language pathologists 3142 Physiotherapists 3143 Occupational Therapists 3211 Medical laboratory technologists 3212 Medical laboratory technicians and pathologists' assistants 3214 Respiratory therapists, clinical perfusionists and cardiopulmonary technologists 3215 Medical radiation technologists 3216 Medical sonographers 3217 Cardiology technicians and electrophysiological diagnostic technologists, n.e.c. (not elsewhere classified) The eligibility point test will also be done in addition in which if you can score 67 points and above you will qualify for independent immigration. the points are given based on the following areas Age, Education, Work experience, Language ability, Arranged employment and Adaptability Note: Canada requires that you have a specific amount of money for your and any dependants sustenance depending on their numbers, more information can be gotten on the official Govt. website http://www.cic.gc.ca/EnGLIsh/immigrate/skilled/apply-who.asp 2 Likes |

fiscalcliff: Sweden no dey this list? Well I was a bit surprised at this as well. With Sweden being an outstanding nation with a relatively high per capital income, however the unemployment rate may be one of the reasons for it not being listed. Sweden supposedly has an unemployment rate of between 5 to 8% on the average but a disturbing level of youth unemployment of around 24.2%! Meaning most youths below 25yrs are unemployed including graduates. hence young migrants might feel frustrated in that environment. This is just my thought though based of factual statistics of course. 2 Likes |

kukus01: some people ranting here about naija not good.... you will be shocked that their parents were part of this decay in naija which started long since before now, .....now karma is playing out on their kids ......their kids are shouting fowl.....abeg if you wan die go die joor ......naija no good naija no good and u dont even want to make yourself useful. they cant wash toilet in naija yet they can clean soakaway in UK. For your information oga, Most of the leaders involved in the rot of Naija are still presently in power or around the corridors of power and most of their kids are away in other countries laughing at those impoverished by their parents, so your karma logic to me doesn't hold much water. I schooled in the UK after saving money for years. while working to pay my fees in the Uk i discovered especially within central and greater London that most of the students living lavish yet not working while studying in UK were children of present leaders or past Nigerian leaders involved in this rot, i even used to help clean the car and mow the lawn of one Nigerian legislators house for some extra cash while his kids, 4 of them played playstation and Xbox all day! they cant wash toilet in naija yet they can clean soakaway in UK.only a not too smart person would compare these two, in Naija you can't earn up to minimum wage cleaning toilets anywhere, plus you would be ridiculed by your own people as if u r being punished by God, whereas in UK you make up to £10 an hour as a standby attendant cleaning a night club toilet and working 8-10hrs overnight everyday. Now check this, for a year after tax and expenses you can go home with £23,000 which is equivalent of N5.8 million. Mind you, in Uk you are treated as every other employee, with holiday allowances, discount coupons on some hotels, supermarkets etc just as a toilet Cleaner! No wonder some quite senior Naija bankers are hapilly cleaning toilets today in UK. lol As per cleaning soakaway, in UK clearing blocked sewers is a specialized job and if you are licenced to do it, you can charge as much £25 per hour! sebi you sabi maths? oya begin calculate........ 3 Likes |

adepojuot: How can I apply for Liechtenstein visa as tourist from Nigeria?? Liechtenstein is quite a small country with no boarder patrol set up of its own separating it from Switzerland, hence it depends on the latter for control of those entering its boarders. This therefore means for Nigerians looking to get into Liechtenstein, its better they apply for a Swizz visa through Switzerland embassy on which further details about your intention to visit Liechtenstein should be stated. Liechtenstein as a country does not require a visa for Nigerian tourists visiting not more than three months in the country. So if you intend to visit Liechtenstein via Switzerland, these are the requirement for a Switzerland tourist visa application: A Filled out and signed Switzerland tourist visa application form B Original, signed Nigeria passport with at least 6 months of remaining validity. C Passport-type photograph: 1 D Itinerary. Copy of round trip tickets or itinerary. E Medical travel insurance (Schengen). with a minimum coverage of € 30,000 and validity for all Schengen states. F Bank Statement. Copies of bank statements from the past 3 months. G Employment Letter. Copy of a letter from your employer on business letterhead, with contact details, stating that a leave of absence has been granted, purpose and duration of the trip, and that you will be returning to your current job. If you are self-employed, include a copy of your business license and tax return. For students, please submit an official letter from your school indicating that you are in good standing and that you are registered for the upcoming semester. If you are retired please submit proof of your retirement fund. H Hotel Reservations. Copy of the Hotel Reservations, OR I Personal Invitation. If visiting friends or family, you must provide letter of invitation with the contact information of the host and visitor, purpose and duration of the visit, confirmation of accommodation including the address, signature and date. You will also need to provide proof of the host's status in Switzerland ie. copy of their Switzerland passport's information page, or, if they are not a citizen of Switzerland, copies of their Switzerland residence permit and their national passport's information pages. 2 Likes |

@Op I understand your frustrations. It is very easy for someone to write you off as an unserious, lazy or undetermined person. I want everyone to know that until you are uncomfortable with your present position, the chance to rise and make progress would elude you forever. Inasmuch as it is patriotic to always honour, respect and strive to succeed within your country, I cannot blame anyone who opts out of this straits because as we can see, the leaders do not give a hoot about you and the environment is not as friendly as we would have desired. Today many youths are encouraged to learn trades, pick up carpentry, bricklaying, welding, farming etc as an option if you cannot get a job in you chosen feild or if your career direction seems to be hindered. inasmuch as this looks like a good idea, I have discovered many of our brightest and best brains fall out of what they were meant to be, thereby depriving the world of their inherent career talents in favour of looking for another means of sustenance. Today, some of the would have been excellent surgeons who probably would have made a break through in their field ended up as shitty actors, just for the money, the Engineers who might have made Nigeria's 'real' first car or discovered a cheaper option to fuel might today be a barely above board trader just for the money, while the outspoken lawyer who would have solved problems for many ended up permanently as a not too good primary school teacher just to earn a living Each of us had dream of a glorious career in life and goals to achieve them and if in a country like Naija through ASUU strikes, employment corruption, lack of connections, inadequate infrastructure, unfriendly environments etc forces you out of achieving that real dream and destiny you were created for hence having u end up as one doing anything just for money, my friend, u have failed! My advice strive as much as possible but let it be towards that area of your dream and be sure to get back on track any time you fall out, my best advice to any Young promising graduate without opportunities for years to is leave this country if you can, there are many more countries that value and care for hard-working, focused and determined Nigerians more than its own bunch of useless leaders! 1 Like |

Oladecoolz: As a student what are d requirements? For application of a students' residence permit or student visa in Norway the student has to submit the following documents: 1. An application form for student residence with a passport photograph. 2. A copy of passport. 3. Documentation of admission to an approved educational institution with the applicant’s name, institution’s name and course and duration of the program. (The course/programme must be full-time and approved for financial support from the Norwegian State Educational Loan Fund. This also applies for students who have financing from other sources and do not intend to seek support from the Loan Fund.) 4. A plan of study. This gives details of the study program. 5. Documentation of housing. (Approved documentation includes a lease copy for a house, an apartment or a room issued by a private person or company. Apartments/rooms provided by the institution's own Student Housing organisation must also be documented with a lease copy. 6. Documentation of subsistence, i.e documents to prove you have the financial muscle to cater for yourself during studies this could be a loan from the Norwegian State Educational Loan Fund or your own private fund deposits in a Norwegian bank. NOTE: A student residence permit to Norway is granted under the precondition that the student will return to his/her country of legal permanent residence upon completion of the studies, however students after completion of their courses can proceed to apply for a job seekers visa if they are able to meet its conditions as explained in the previous post. Working permit for students A student residence permit (VISA)does not confer the right to take employment in Norway. However, students may apply for part-time work permit and/or a permit to work during vacations when employment would not interfere with their study progress. Full-time employment for a restricted period of time may also be applied for. 7 Likes 2 Shares |

kenjudy: What are d requirements for migrating to norway not as student? You can be granted a residence permit as a jobseeker if you are a skilled worker and you are a resident from the country where visa is a requirement to enter Norway like Nigeria. To migrate to Norway not as a student is possible through The Skilled job seeker visa. The Skilled Jobseeker visa is issued for a period of 6 months as a residence permit and this allows a foreign skilled worker to search for jobs during his stay in Norway. Religious workers/Teachers and ethnic cooks are not eligible for a Jobseeker visa considering the competence requirements are more stringent. As a skilled job worker you must possess relevant qualifications to the nominated occupation which covers Vocational training, Craft certificates, University Qualifications or Special qualifications equivalent to the level of Norwegian standards. You must have sufficient funds to live in Norway for the intended stay. This currently corresponds to NOK 103,950 for six months which is approximately NGN2,821,550. The Jobseekers who are successful in securing a job can apply for a skilled worker residence permit with the sponsorship from a local employer. The employer can lodge the skilled worker residence permit for the applicant or this can be directly filed by the applicant in the closest Embassy or consulate office in the country where he/she has stayed for the last 6 months. This permit also forms to Permanent residency in Norway after completing 3 years of residence. 13 Likes 2 Shares |

yarnings: @topic,buhari will never rule this country again in his life time, but the issue of him killing his fellow uniform men from the igbo side,is a baseless point.am 100% ibo by tribe so sentiment apart buhari did what is expected of anybody is such situation.the ibo's were the first to kill the best brain from the north. I like ur analysis in d post about what happened in the past & wat u would have done in Buhari's shoes, more detrabalized Nigerians like u are needed! However am sorry to tell u, BUHARI will RULE Nigeria again and you will be glad when he does |

Ngwakwe: Why call Kaduna Nzeogwo Igbo when you should know he is not from South East according to Yoruba and Hausa gospels. CHukwuma Kaduna Nzeogwu was very much an Igbo man, a fearless and intelligent Soldier he was, he had a good mission but went about achieving it the wrong way. DON'T deny ur Igbo brother because of what he might have done, there are still other good and great things he did, find out from Tai Sholarin's write ups about him 1 Like |

I read through all the posts on this thread and I realized that despite all the efforts of the proponent it is just another epic fail like most other threads based on tribal sentiments and bigotry statements by the Gej 40 laptop crew. We all have our primary loyalties but in the wake of a new era most of us have learnt to put sentiments aside, Give me an Igbo, Yoruba, Akwa Ibom, hausa, Ijaw, Fulani or whatever Man who is upright, fearless, not corrupt, very disciplined and having a real passion 4 Nigeria in spite of any other flaw he might have, ill canvass and vote 4 him. Till date only Buhari seems to fit this image, those who are afraid of him are those who are scared of losing ill gotten wealth and positions they got thanks to the crooked, corrupt, selfish, weak or clueless past leaders that have held and R still holding Nigeria to ransoms, cos HE might PROBE them, recover the loot and make it difficult for corruption, indiscipline and injustice to thrive! @ op the end 4 u and ur ilk is near go and look 4 work! 2 Likes |
