This is not a new ploy by the Shiite, before gaining relevance in Kaduna, they took the Tariqa sect as their best friends and ally while Izalas and the mainstream Ahl Sunna was wary of them. Tariqa joined them in abusing and accusing the Izala, gave them their mosques and supports while all of these took place under the leadership of Dahiru Bauchi. At the end, the Tariqa regretted their decision, the more reason Shiite can't return to their former ally and supporters now shifting support base to christians. |
I guess most people didn't read the article before rushing to pass comments. From my point of view, Kaduna generally has always boiled in one crisis or the other, which southern kaduna is not an exception, there have always been killings and killings right in the days of Yakowa who is himself a christian from Southern Kaduna, Ramalan Yero wasn't spared. The major mistake I think ElRufai is making is that he's taking the attacks and killings personal. He believe some politicians from that part are up against him which could actually be the issue but he's not suppose to look at it from that angle. Besides, leading Nigerians requires been diplomatic in your strategies and policies, that's another aspect I think Elrufai is getting things wrong. He's trying to work with people he believes are technocrats but Nigeria political terrain isn't all about that. You'll need to work with all kinds of people; the good, the bad and the ugly and not just the good and the good only. |

doctokwus:Bros I've lost all hope in him, my Dad usually say something which I understand very clearly now. He do say during his regime as Military President, he was a figure head, he had no action watsoeva, that Idiagbon was actually the man leading the country which ofcuz is playing out very clearly now. My anger with him is "Is this all he has to offer that has made him to present himself for election four times in a row?" |
doctokwus:Bro, you are not as perturbed and disappointed as I am. |
Thanks alot everyone, am sure now that I don't need to switch over to electricity since I'll be getting prepaid meter very soon. I live in a neighborhood where we are charged on estimated billing, so whatever I use or don't use doesn't count but I plan on getting prepared meter soon because I believe am being overcharged but the cooking aspect has been what am not sure of. |
Hello nairalanders, as this recession bites harder, I want ur opinions on which method of cooking is cheaper. Is it cooking with gas or relying on electricity considering what Discos now charge per KWh of electricity usage. |
Sweetguy25:I don't concur with that, I said in my initial post that the younger generation are better managers and leaders compared to their older counterparts as a result of explosion in knowledge. A competent leader will adequately fix the major loopholes in the interim within a short period of time while a solid foundation for long term is being worked on. It still boils down to the issue of leadership. Competent leadership; With Myriads of problems in Lagos State, Ambode is tackling them without noise. No argument, no debates, no talk shows, no controversies, silently he's fixing issues. That is a leader with clear vision of issues at hand and ready made solutions. Fashola had achievements but you will agree with me there were alot noise and controversies. Ambode's solutions from my perspective is touching the lives of the poor masses and adding to Lagos State's ecknomy while that of Fashola is basically focused on the economy of the state, not welfarism of the down trodden. Nevertheless, they are both competent leaders because they get problems solved but I'll prefer leadership style of Ambode. |
WiLdFLame:You are full of wisdom, your illustration of Kennedy and Johnson succinctly explains this rule. Thumb Up bro! |
This is true analysing two personalties in our present socio-political experience. Atiku and Buhari. While Buhari's reputation catapulted him into Aso Rock, there was little or no dent on his reputation before ascending the seat of presidency, but now his reputation has gotten lots of holes based on high level corruption in his government. If this holes had existed in his reputation before now, he wouldn't have won the election to start with. So I totally agree with that. Atiku on the other hand, his only stumbling block to winning the presidency is his reputation and he's doing little or nothing to redeem it. The moment Obasanjo put seriously wide holes in his reputation, he lost it all, and to make matter worst, he started jumping from one party to the other which made people ask serious question of reputation; is it compulsory he must rule this country, why is he so desperate. |
Op are u sure you did your research well? am trying to get my head around remote jobs asSoftware engineer and there are so many of those jobs that pay far more than what you've written there. Anyway, good job but always make your research well to ensure a robust article. |
Sweetguy25:That's the more reason i've always posited that the problem with Nigeria is just one and only one, our educational system, what do we git out of education system? The systems wire us in such a way that we come out as scammers, greedy men, immediate benefit seekers etc. The moment our education system is well structured, and we all understand what our goals and means should be, we are headed towards development. Adequately understanding goals makes us better leaders and understanding of the means as well make us better managers. |
Sunnypar:No one disputes the fact that money is needed in every aspect of our endeavours, but the fact that going into relationship purposely for the sake of money is the main challenges facing our ladies. My ex once told me in the advent of MMM crash, because she's a guider, that even if MMM crashes, she has gained alot from it, the disgusting part of it was that "she said the money she has gotten from it is far more than what she has gotten from guys, all her ex put together, she has gotten more money from MMM than them". Looking at a statement like that makes you understand her concept of relationship. How does such a lady expect to get a man who'll marry her on time. Another thing you need to understand is that, if she dates a guy who satisfies her financial need today and thing go awry for the guy, what is this lady going to do? |
Nigeria's one and only problem is its nature of People. I've come to the conclusion over the years that Nigerians by nature are bad managers and leaders. And that's the problem facing the country in all its ramifications. Only a few, very few individuals are good managers and as well leaders. I've worked with several people and under several varying degree of projects, the type of managerial and leadership abilities exhibited by foreign nationals especially those from Europe is quite different from the type exhibited by Nigerians. It is this poor management that has always impacted our social political lives and have modelled our way of life, culture and tradition. From my analysis of our business men who have made millions and billions over time, I've as well come to the realization that most of them made their millions not as a result of proper planning and execution but basically as a result of persistency and luck. Luck from circumstance and environment. It is this same trait that has existed in the DNA of the majority of Nigerians in all their social and political lives. Its not only Presidents who have failed, but majority of our leaders in their respective domains; Governors, Local Government chairmen etc. Irrespective of these failures ofcourse there are a handful of those individuals who have succeeded without enormous efforts, those few worked magic in the midst of myriads of problems solely because they are good managers and leaders. On the argument of system of government, bring in Europeans to run this same government and this same political and economic system and see complete transformation in just a single tenure. If there's any advice I'll give, I'll say as a result of explosion of knowledge, the younger generation in my analysis have proven to be better managers and leaders compared to their older counterparts. To that I'll say the only hope is the upcoming generation. This upcoming generation has repeatedly discard alot of norms and tradition for what they believe and are convinced of. That is where the ray of hope is going to lit from. |
Quite interesting...i got quite a number of them |
Good policy if properly implemented. These are some of the systems which should have started working long before now, it'll ensure security, minimize corruption and create higher revenue for the government. And if implemented the way it should, smuggling will be discouraged as cost of importing through the ports will be reduced. I keep wondering why we've always had nutheads at the helm of affairs in this country. I just hope and fervently hope corruption won't stop this this policy from working as it should. |
sino:How I wish I can give you 1million likes, To buttress ur point, Islam is a religion to be practiced at all period and every location. The question would have been, was the prophet practicing Islam during the days of Jahilliyya in makkah? How did he practice it and how would he have practiced it if he were to be in Nigeria with us. With that we've gotten the solution we are searching after. Even if one were to be in Saudi Arabia, would one be able to practice Islam 100%? |
bustykasa:I like you, will you be my wife? |
Ezeego1:Wallahi, I wanted saying that as well |
ItsQuinn:God save u, thot u were going to make an objection, but as a good lady u keep to instruction. Am not a soldier man, am a man. So I have the effrontery you give u commands. |
ItsQuinn:Y deceiving ursef? We ain't selecting anything, our ideology is simple, we are ahead of you girls and ready to take over the responsibilities of husband, boyfriends and leader. You keep to our rule, you keep to our instructions. If you choose otherwise and claim to be a feminist, do that holistically. Is that clear? I don't want any objection from you again |
OgidiOlu3:I no fit laff o, ds crack me up big time |
ItsQuinn:That's what the writer is saying, feminism is contradictory in its ideology and what it hope to achieve. If u want to be a feminist, be a feminist wholly. |
ItsQuinn:Nop, point of correction, men know what they want but women generally don't know what they want. I once asked a girl out but later discovered she's a feminist. She lacked respect, get offended with everything, and was even acting hard to get. After tough argument one evening, I deleted all her contacts from my phone and social media account. She contacted me after a long period of not hearing from me apologising. But it was too late, am not interested in wasting my precious Tim with chauvinist. Does that sound like someone who knows what she wants? Mind you, it was this same girl who stylishly asked me out by giving green light signals with lots of worded challenges and accusations |
ItsQuinn:Then your feminism is a deception, if you re a feminist who enjoys doing what she want and at anytime, y not boldly ask guys out same way guys ask girls out. |
Hannysmilez:What's the write view of feminism, you have the burden of re-orientating us. |
Nma27:Haha!! Wetin ppl from dat region do u na? There are foolish ppl in every region, does that mean every region in Nigeria are foolish. |
dacblogger:Are u a psychologist? |
Nma27:Shd I start telling you about him? Handsome Hardworking Down to earth Knows how handle women Wat else are you looking for ojare? Infact am standing for him You guys re jst perfect match. |
Nma27:He's still searching, I wish I match make you with him |
MzUkay24:It will be best if ladies like u can start orientating other ladies. The number one problem making ladies unmarriable is their focus on turning guys to ATM |
