FreeGlobe: Get lost.ma'am, you need help if you think this animal will be governor of rivers state in 2015. |
ezeagu: And how does this counter the point that multinational airlines make millions from Nigerian airports, parking charges or none? With air traffic in those two airports going upwards of 14 million people every year, and Nigerians spending millions every year on baggage allowance alone, it's not a surprise that these airlines are willing to put up with the infrastructure, and they will be willing to expand to Enugu.if they were making so much money and they are comfortable with the poor unfastructure, BA won't be diverting nigerian passangers to ghana for take off. |
talktimi: nna gerraway you. Youre just too sad to be in a civilized societyalways a pleasure talking to you, buddy! |
theoctopus: You sound very stup1d as usual. I dont know why folks are even bothering to reply you. Trolling is a sign of joblessness and attention seeking, inferiority complex.nice talking to you pal. |
HappyJoe: It's clear that people like you don't like progress outside your narrow enclave in Nigeria. I'm sorry there's nothing I can do about that.if you call this airport progress, then i can't argue with you. Everyone has a different level of thinking. When someone diminished their expectation or hope for their nation to the bearest minimum, even the air you breath. You'll soon start thanking GEJ for it. Surely Such a mind can't be saved. |
ezeagu: So what you're trying to tell me is that British Airways and the rest, multi-billion dollar companies, are making less than millions in Nigeria's airports or are losing money in these airports that are part of the busiest airports in the world?this is'nt rocket science. Arik came about and still exist because it charges outrageous amounts for flight ticket so as to cover the disgusting cost of doing buisness in nigerian airports. Same with other internationals. Nigerian flight tickers are high because our airports are a mess and the cost of doing buisness is high. Where do you think they make their profits from? |
IGBO-SON:i have nothing against the igbo people, or their aspiration at development. If you belive this airport which is by no means up to other nigerian airport standards is the key to unlock your economic potentials, then enjoy. If this is the best you think indigbo deserves then enjoy. |
HappyJoe: You don't know what you are talking about, this is a screenshot from the flight on Friday (from Enugu to Dubai). All the economy seats are booked (only the business class seats are yet to be taken).i was refferencing the return flight to addis ababa enrouth london which chime and ekweremadu were on. But this one still has some revealing undertones. |
It's always good news when buisness make money and grow in our country so i find it encouraging that despite the substandard state of the airport, it still has a willing amount of users, which makes me imagine the possibilities if the airport was better. Futhermore, i urge you folks here not to shy away from threads like the oil theft one on frontpage calling out this government's corruption or inability to curb corruption. You can lay critisim and still love someone, infact, if you truely love someone you'll tell them the truth and hope for change. Once again good development. |
Source of this article? |
Why is everybody attacking nigerian airport security and capabilities? I taught heavy fresh air was blowing through all of them, i'm confused o!.....can folks like sincere 9gerian and his crew explain to us? |
This is just a tip of the ice. This government has refused to revitalize our existing refineries or build additional once, so that their friend will continue making billions from fuel importation. They make tipid attempts to provide power so that their friends can continue making billions from generator importation, let's not forget that we have'nt heard anything about the billions NNPC failed to return to the federal account. That has been swept under the rug. So much money being wasted, lost, misappopraited and when i call out cheap and substandard projects people say nigeria can't afford it, we should be gratefull for what we have. Lions eating like mice. Plonkers!! By the way, why is this thread so desserted? If it were one of those mediocre achivement threads, a lot of pillocks would have been here shouting."fresh air"...more like "foul air". |
awodman: If you cared to read through you would have seen that the contract was awarded last year September with a completion period of 7 months and @ the Ministerial platform this year the transport minister hinted that the designs are ready and adverts will be made soon for the Expression of Interest by the private sector for PPP arrangement to develop this lines..so if they can't find any private partner, the project goes bust? Or the partners pull out along the way.Have'nt anything been learnt from ameachi's rivers problem? |
naptu2: http://thewillnigeria.com/breaking/21486.htmla nice development, general electric is doing the same investments in other west adrican and african countries. |
naptu2: FG Approves N1.3bn For Design Of 5 Fast Train Lines.when is it starting? This article is dated september 2012 and we're in august,2013. Why was'nt a starting date included? Or is this another promise in infinity? Like the wastefull abuja city gate? |
olabukola: it only a lunatic that argues with a lunatic.dear boy, i think you mean "it's". |
quid: No problem.i am not tribalist, so i don't care whereever my president comes from, so far as he can do the job. I will be more worried about a party that has dominated the federal government and a significant majority of states for 15 years of the fourth republic and nothing to show for it. |
ezeagu: That's Japan. |
ezeagu: When the international wing is finished and if the Federal Government raises the fence everybody from Virgin to Delta to British Airways will be clamouring for this airport. These people already make millions from the rubbish airports in Abuja and Lagos, so what would the difference be with a soon-to-be expanded international airport in Enugu when their market research already tells them that a significant amount of people headed to Abuja and Lagos are ultimately destined for the areas around Akanu Ibiam airport.they already make millions from abuja and lagos airport. What millions? Why do you think air ticket is so costly in nigeria? Because of the cost of doing buisness compounded with poor infastructure. Why was BA taking off with nigerian passangers from ghana? Why is no foreign investor coming to invest in the nigerian domestic flight industry to the extent the government is considering buying planes for airlines? That airport is a disgrace, it is not only incapable to handle passangers and multiple planes, it is also a national disgrace. Airports are the first thing foreign guest or investors see on arriving the nation, it is a prolific attestation to the infastructural maturity of the country, and this is what we're offering them, on a thread in nairaland where an ex british expatrait explained nigeria, he noted that MMA was a national disgrace and eye sore to foreign guest, that is suppose to be our flag ship airport. I wonder what he will make of this. |
inice: My dear it is better late than never. Leave oyibo land first let's talk of naija. Bible says do not despise ur little beginning. A lot has gone wrong in naija. But with this, shows that it is getting better. Let's support it.if i were a citizens of malawi or central african republic, i will not despise my humble beginning. But i am a citizens of a country on the top then oil producer list, i am a citizen of a country that has lost over half a trillion dollars to corruption. I deserve better than this rubbish. It is 2013 and you're still talking of humble beginnings, while other serious countries are making gaint strides to have a seat in the commitee of nation, nigeria is ochestreating humble beginning that will foreverkeep her steps behind other nations. |
quid: Stop making noise on this thread. Go and get yourself and your friends ready to vote for GEJ in 2015.i don't need to vote for your president, because weather i vote or not, they will still rig their way to victory so why waste my time voting? |
olabukola: This is called chicken out.no, it is called stop wasting time arguing with lunatics who will never conceed they are saying rubbish. |
The truth is the truth...you have a right to your own opinion but not your own facts. I rest my case. |
olabukola: You still did not answer my question.is it not laughable that you consider MMA standard? What part of no nigerian airport is up to international standard don't you understand? |
talktimi: Bad belle people are here alreadythank you my dear. Our journey here was smooth. |
eaglechild: Was it the increase number of passengers that made them shut down the old airport and construct a new one or was it the new airport that caused the number of passengers to increase?plans to to build this airpirt started in 1960, by 196m how many tourist visted thialand? How much buisness went on there? But the king and government insisted that mdern facilities will enhance the country image and make it attractive. In 1973, 8,400 acres of land was bought for the airport but construction did'nt start due to the overthrow of the thanom kittikachon government. Instability stalled the project until civil construction for the airpirt started in 2002 and it was completed in 2006. Has the reason for the building gotten into thy thick skull? |
If the trains are anything like the lagos-kano axis. Then the government can go Bleep itself.
|
Wow!! This thread is just a prolific attestation to the power of honesty. The truth has been established so not one, like sincere 9gerian is here arguing or debating lies. Let's commend when it's due and also condemn when it's due. |
eaglechild: You are beginning to sound like an uneducable broken record.and you think thailand became among the most visited capital cities by using primitive airports like us. Listen kiddo, in 2006, thailand closed the don mueang international airport and built the suvarnabhumi international airport which stands today and has made travelling in thailand very pleasurable thereby increasing passangers. How pleasurable it is to travel via MMA or any other nigerian airport? Ever heard how britsih airways and some other airlines and diverting nigerian passangers to ghana for take off? That speaks volumes. |
looker: Don't waste your time on that guy, you can clearly see that he is not smart. People that think like him never achieve any thing in life.ouch...maybe i'm getting under this dude's skin. The truth hurts so much and it is reflecting on his words. Thank God this is a faceless forum or if we were physically arguing, he would have wacked me by now. |
eaglechild: You are beginning to sound like an uneducable broken record.if it is a refurbished local terminal, why is an international flight landing there, why is the nigerian government officialy calling it an international airport when there a single block for their supposed new terminal has not been laid. Why are you people talking from both sides of the mouth? |
olabukola: Symphony, I asked ou a question yesterday and younrefused to ansa , I repeat, having an international airport in Enugu or any other place in nigeria a good thing or a bad thing.olabukola, enugu can have an airport but not when all the major airports in the country put together are not up to international standard. Every nigerian airport is undeequiped and a disgrace. Rather than spending money to make those airports a national pride, you spend that money replicating the same underequiped, primitive airports in other cities in the nation. Does'nt this government know anything about priority? I have no problem with enugu having an airport, heck, they can build one in every state for all i care(which will be stupid), but they should be modern and state of the art, or even a few if they can't afford all. An airport is not just a travel hub. It is the first impression a visitor or investor has of a country on arrival. |
