eldoradoxx: It is only a person who does not understand politics like you that would advise the president to sack Nyesom Wike. Every president needs the like of Nyesom Wike who is not ashamed to fight dirty in the street to survive. Imagin how things would have been if Nyesom Wike was from Kano or Jigawa or Niger, currently, you know GEJ wouldn't loose any sleep because he knows he has a tough foot soldier who could battle his Governor to standstil. Nyesom Wike remains Amechi's biggest fear, he knows how brutal and deadly he is. Infact Nyesom and majority of Rivers House of Assembly Members fear Nyesome Wike more than they fear GEJ. The reason is simple, Nyesome made Amechi. He single handedly sponsored his election case up to supreme court in 2007 when Amechi ran to Ghana due to the heat in the state. Amechi stepped foot into Nigeria when SC declared him Governor. In 2011, Nyesom as Chief of Staff to the Governor Amechi unleashed his boys who returned Amechi and delivered victory to GEJ. Nyesom has grass root support and entrenched machinery more than Amechi in Rivers. The politics is why make Ama Pepple a full minister and make a foot soldier a min for state. With this cabinet shake, Nyesom Wike would definitely become a full minister. Perhaps not of Education. What you will see in the new cabinet are people like Nyesom Wike who can fight their Governors for GEJ esp in the 7 States that there Governors broke away.

Books acquired by the Universal Basic Education, for free distribution to pupils are on sale in the open market in Umuahia, Abia State capital.

UBE customized books are produced by the Federal Government and ought to be distributed free to pupils.

Though it is boldly marked “not for sale”, Vanguard learnt that teachers have been asking parents to go and buy the books in the open market, an action that smacks of connivance.

“Governor Orji must be mad with those involved in this illegal act,” an aggrieved father said in an interview.

A mother, who simply identified herself as Maureen, disclosed that she was given a list of books to buy for her children and paid N1,100 to acquire “Pupil Book 1 UBE Edition Learn Mathematics for Primary Schools.”

When confronted, Chief Micah Onyebuchi, ASUBEB chairman in the state, said the books which were being sold in the open market, were not meant for Abia State schools.

Onyebuchi said that all the books from UBE for the state were sent to his office directly, adding that they had been distributed to the schools in the state.

He stressed that the books were customized and not meant to be sold.

He said: “When the books are sent down to us, we stamp them with ASUBEB stamp beside the UBE/FGN not for sale and are given out to the pupils and I am sure that nobody in this office is playing pranks with the books meant to be given to pupils for free.”

America has everything to lose by ousting Assad because they will ultimately hand Syria over to Al Queda elements and extremists which in turn is a danger to global peace. Most Congressmen are against the attack and Syria and i am waiting to see how the confused Obama gets them on his side. This is how they Ousted Mubarak only to hand Egypt over to the Muslim brotherhood, now see the mess Egypt is in.
