This is a pic of president john f. Kennedy presenting a bust of america's 16th president, abraham lincoln to nigerian prime minister, tafawa balewa in the rose garden of the white house during prime minister balewa's state visit to the us. Images like these are a testament to a time when nigeria was respected and important on the world stage.
|
This is a pic of Nnamdi azikiwe, governor general of nigeria, bowing to his appointer, queen elizabeth ii, queen of nigeria on her visit to her nigerian realm. Padon the size, it is quite an old pic.

All nigerians should shut up and enjoy the fresh air...your government is building locomotives for you and you're not gratefull. I urge you to take the twice a week lagos to kano train, your kids will be adults before you reach your destination. |
Sincere 9gerian: You'r having spasms of the fingers and trying to destroy the messenger simply because the message didn't favour your evil thoughts.that does not answer my question. Where is their office? What is their criteria? How do they poll responders? At least i know all about gallup, rasmussen, NBC,fox,etc....never heard of NOI and will never believe and crap they produce, |
Fresh air= fresh propagander. |
This senseless and shambolic soliloque of a stack raving made man made frontpage? I am disgusted greatly. |
Who are this idiotic pollsters? Were is their office? How credible are they? What was their criteria? Who did they poll? Did they call respondents or meet them on the streets? I certainly was'nt polled, so were is all the hogwash coming from? Crap!! |
Is this not what i was saying on the enugu airport thread? No single nigerian airport is up to standard, yet they keep spending more money on the useless things. When i said this. PDP goons pilled on me. Look at it...how shamefull. Gaint of africa has no international standard airport, gateway to west africe has no standard airport. |
What a disgrace. Francis has thrown the palpacy to the dogs. In the glorious days of the vatican, if a king is visiting the pope, he is stripped of all his jewels and fine clothings and made to wear a plain pilgrims cloak, then he is ushered into the sixtine chapel were the pope is seated upon his golden throne surrounded by senoir cardinals and swiss guards. As the king enters the chapel, the pope rises from his throne and proceed down the stairs when he gets to the bottom, the almighty king falls to the ground and kiss the pope's red shoe. Their royal majesties, the king and queen of spain greet pope benedict.
|
What a disgrace.just imagining the glorious days of the palpacy when kings who visit the vatican are stripped of all their elaborate clothing and made to wear a pilgrims cloak. That almighty king when presented to the holy father in the sixtin chapel falls to his feet and kiss the pope's red shoes. Pope francis's oversimplicity is degrading the palpacy. |
I am shocked to see that PDP has supporters on this forum..andy supporter of this party that has caged nigeria all this years has a brain the size of a grain of rice. It's so pathetic and offensive. |
I'm gonna get a lot of rope, rate poison, knives, etc for all the PDP goons here cause when the party finally crashes there will be mass sucide. R.I.P!! |
Thank God! After 15 years of killing the nation, PDP is finally falling off the cliff. Good ridance. And any Goat in human body here supporting PDP can join them down the cliff. Nigerians deserve better. |
What a disgrace..nairaland put up a story that has been denied by the south african government on it's frontpage. Amatuerish. |
Obafemi awolowo of the action group was indeed a wise politician. He introduced some of the most genuis means of campaigning into the nigeria political system, one of which was his helicopter campaign. When nigeria was set to have it's first general elections, campaigning was in full gear. Nigeria is terribly divided into the north, west and east, each group had their political big wig. Sir ahmadu bello to the north, nnamdi azikiwe to the east and chief awolowo to the west. Chief awolowo was determined to win but he knew the votes of the of the west alone would'nt give his party a parliamentry majority so he decided to take a piece out of the biggest voting block in the country, THE NORTH. Were sir ahmadu bello reigned supreme and had no worries because he was sure of a parliamentry majority were his annioted candidate, tafawa balewa will be prime minister? Chief awolowo saw this division in the country and wondered how he'll take a slice of the northern vote. Then he came up with the helicopter idea, in 1960's nigeria, a helicopter was a rare sight for most nigerians, the glamour and appeal of it drew large crowds. So that was the part chief awolowo followed. He got a helicopter and started flying into major northern cities and towns. Whereever he went with his helicopter drew large northern crowds, the specter of chief awolowo arriving and leaving campaign rallies in his helicopter drew large cheering crowds, flyers and posters were also dropped from the helicopters to large scuffuling crowds fighting to get one of the paper from above. Sir ahmadu bello initially called chief awolowo's helicopter campaign a desperate attempt for votes and said it will fail but later as the crowds grew and the news flew around the north, sir bello grew concerned. Chief awolowo puta lot of work into his helicopter campaigning but at last as sir bello predicted, a helicopter was no match for the loyalty northerners feel to their region, sir ahmadu bello's NPC won a parliamentary majority and alhaji sir tafawa balewa became prime minister with nnamdi azikiwe as governor general. Though chief obafemi awolowo's helicopter campaign did'nt give his action group a parliamentary majority, it was a clear case of creativity and genius not found in nigerian politics and some say is the same creative example most western politicians of today are following when they produce bags of rice with their faces on it or recharge cards branded with their campaign logo.

It appears syria's pain is becoming nigeria's gain. Figures have surfaced showing that nigeria is getting an extra 2.7 billion naira in oil revenue due to rising oil prices associated with the syrian conflict and the u.s intending strike on syria. The gains hit an all time high at the start of this week when oil per barrel went for $112(N18,000) and by the end of the week, it hit another high when bent crude rose by 1.5% in london, closing at $114.34(N18,500). Analyist claim that if the u.s goes ahead to strike syria, it will greatly affect oil production in the middle east, thereby boosting demand for nigerian oil with higher prices. http://premiumtimesng.com/buisness/143816-nigeria-earns-n2-7bn-extra-daily-as-oil-prices-jumps-over-syria-strike-fears.html?utm_source-dlvr-it&utm-medium=twitter&utm-campaign=nigeria-earns-ng-7bn-extra-daily-as-oil-prices-jumps-over-syria-strike-fears |
Ojo maduakwe is a monumental fool, this what happens when a foolish government gives out ambassadorial appiontment in salient countries to political buddies, not trained diplomats. Rubbish! |
My governess use to eat watermelon with the peel and seeds, irish potatoes with the peels, also banana peels...at times she just goes as far as blending paw paw with it's seeds and peel. She says it's very medicinal. Very weird woman. |
After what has happened to their collegues, a camera is now the nigerian policeman's worse enermy. It's more dangerous than a gun. |
It's ironic you say this, because nothing the PDP or jonathan does is wrong in your eyes. You and those "APC goons" as you call them are opposite sides of the same coin. I am proud to be a political independent who speaks out against wrongs wherever i find it. |
These are some of the things that really makes my blood boil. Just imagine the amount of fish, amatuer fishermen are producing, just imagine if they had modern fishing boats and trawlers, it is will produce more fish for us, some to exports, provide employment for the fishermen, the fisherment will get more money to spend, the more money they spend the better the ecobomy gets, the fishermen pay tax to the government, the government gets foreign exchange and internal revenue. The government is always talking about developing the economy, they don't know that one thing leads to another. |
ngozievergreen: Class kwa?she is second only to mrs obasanjo. |
mysticgal: yes she was elegant and had poise, but i think it was her quest for more beauty that killed her in spainexactly. |
jhydebaba: This is non-issue. Guys don't need to think on this.that's cruel. |
Unitedforever: Nice job Op, ![]() ![]() ...even in death, her elegance shines through. |
A group loyal and claim to uphold the virtues of osun state governor, rauf aregbeshola has offered to train the teenager who flew in the tyre compartment of an arik flight from benin to lagos.http://leadership.ng/news/280813/stowaway-teenager-de-raufs-sponsor-him-varsity-level |
Mrs obasanjo and her majesty, queen beatrix of the netherlands.
|
Mrs obasanjo and u.s first lady laura bush.
|
Late chief mrs stella obasanjo was by my estimation, nigeria's most classy first lady, the woman had an aura that equalled her in appearance and composure that made her equal to her foreign counterparts. She is unargueably number one. If you think otherwise, prove it... Mrs obasanjo sharing a toast with queen elizabeth ii.
|
This is a picture taken in 1978 when obasanjo and jimmy carter were best of buddies and partners in the cold war despite obasanjo's late boss. Mutala mohammed support of the soviet. What do you think of his atire and specially caved walking stick? Patriotic or too traditional?

Enegod: If I am with aof course, we should all have respect and love for our partners...but the question is when you date one person for half a decade, don't you at times get a feeling like what will other girls seem like. It's just part of life. The curiosity to try other things but yet and attachment to existing things. |
Since i started dating, i have been seeing one girl that i really love and respect so much, she has really helped me tremedously and our relationship is going smoothly but lately i have been thinking what it would feel like dating other girls, are all girls the same? Are some more fun than others? I slap myself whenever this taughts fliter in cause i still love my girlfriend and would never want to hurt her after all this years. But the urge is growing stronger, i was made to understand that a majority of guys go through this phase, how do you think i should handle it? |
