FamilyRe: Guys Can You Marry A Single Mum? :-\ by syren: 7:13pm On Aug 08, 2008
there is no need being pissed, what they fail to realize is that men are to be blamed sometimes, because a man that knows wont marry the woman will still talk sweet nonesense in the ears of the woman and when belle come, they will run, and we can tell the woman to go hang.
there are just some ladies that are victim of bad relationships.
It's terrible, I even understand relationships can break down beyond repair, but to make matters worse the men won't even be involved in the child's life but it's always the woman that gets the blame because she had the decency to love and look after her own children.

To have 1 issue before marriage could be a mistake, but what will you call a lady with 2 issues b/4 marriage? And to worsen matters, the kids could be from different men. Has she not proved to be a woman of moral laxity? I can't stand such women, i see them as loose and irresponsible cheap things.

I wouldn't advise any man to marry such ladies except if they TRULY repent of such reckless lives.

You people should watch what you say, if you don't know their story then don't prejudge them. I can't stand people who sit on pedistals and look down on other people as if they're so perfect themselves.

I think english is a must if you plan on moving around in life but you should also at least know your native language before learning any other foreign languages. I don't think it makes sense to learn french, spanish, chinese or whatever and not your own when the french, spaniards and chinese hardly ever contemplate learning our languages. We should embrace our own culture before discovering other otherwise the next generations will lose it completely.

@ post

If the dreads are nicely kept and neat there shouldn't be a problem, it's when they look scruffy and neglected it doesn't say much good of a person. It's all about how they perceive you and the impression you make.

Nice topic cool

Hannibal:
This is not pride. . . . . .This is PRINCIPLE!!!
When a man misplaces his priorities especially to his in-laws then where is his decorum.
For crying out loud. . . . . Who seeks the help of his partner's parents to do his wedding??
Are Naija men this morally low??
But if the man is poor what do you expect him to do? Principles wont pay for his wedding ? And what if your fiance wants an extravagant wedding that you can't or won't pay for will she not help pay for it?

Hannibal:
Syren, go n drink your malt. grin
No thanks, tongue I've had my bottle for today.

I think the important question is why the heck are women not funny? Of all the really funny comedians, how many of them are female?
I know loads of funny women so don't generalize.

Let the Bride's family do what they want to do. . . .
I won't be relying on em for a can of coke. . . . .I am making sure i have enough to cater for all the guests coming.
If they add something(good luck). . . .If they don't(no qualms).
When did men start relying on his in-laws to make things happen?? What a strange world we live these days.
Well, good for you. the guy (eric) was not as affluent and proud as you are Hannibal so he had no choice.

It's an old time tradition that the father of the bride pays for the wedding, but of course times are changing, now it's the actual couple that pay the bulk of the bill with a little help from whoever if needed.
RomanceRe: Do Ladies Take Funny Guys Serious? by syren: 10:08pm On Aug 03, 2008
Funny guys can be very attractive, I guess they have that charisma. But not all funny guys are actually funny some are irritating.

So the assumption is. . . .I don't have parents, friends or anyone in me family that can sponsor ma OWN wedding??
What a laugh!!!
The last place i would be looking for any HELP is ma in-laws. . . . . . .so forget the UNCLE shiznit.
It can never ever happen to any straight thinking man. Can't speak for freeloaders though. wink
Well your certainly different, many people would jump at the chance. So the bride's family doesn't pay for the wedding anymore, am I that late. undecided
RomanceRe: Ladies, We Must Re-learn Our Abc's! by syren: 9:58pm On Aug 03, 2008
Orikinla:
From what I have read, heard and seen for decades, there are more bitter women than men in the world.
Many women have been treated badly by men.

Women are often at the receiving end when relationships collapse.

A man from a broken marriage has more chances of convincing other women into marriage, but women from broken marriages are often seen as unlucky and the society does not treat her well.
That is why it is very important for women to be very careful before dating or saying "I DO".

A woman who was abandoned by her man after 14 years is finding it difficult to get another man, because many man do not find her as an attractive partner.

The world seems to be full of lonely and unhappy women.
May God comfort them.
Very true undecided

Good idea for ma partner's uncle to sponsor my OWN wedding??
What does that say about me to her family??
I don't GET DOWN like that!!!! cheesy
Well it's not a test of your manhood Hannibal, what would you do if you had no money for a wedding and a child about to be born out of wedlock, her family expect you to do the honourable thing so why not then later reimburse them if you really have to.  undecided

Apologies to the few decent men around. As for me nigerian men are He Goats, the never keep their zips up.
All over the places they are the same, even when you respect their ages and position they will still dissapoint
you by making sexual advances to you.
'Meloo ni mo fe so'.
Its most saddening when you need a favour from them, say admission or jobs they are cruel hearthless and shameless.
Especially bankers infact i feel like having some powers to expose these fools.
And at home they are fathers and husbands to their kids and wives in churches they are deacons elders pastors and the likes
Ours is a shameless generation worst than Sodom an Gomorah.

CultureRe: Isn't It A Shame When You Can't Speak Your Mother Tongue?! by syren: 6:04pm On Aug 02, 2008
I don't see it as a big deal although it would be nice if I could speak it. Sometimes it's not even the parents fault just different situations make it difficult to learn. Growing up in a family of mixed culture meant we just had to communicate in english.  undecided I tried to learn from books and things like that but there was no support system so it didn't work.

Actually, I do feel a bit ashamed when my friends are speaking it and I can't understand but that's not very often.
