benson81:
It is obvious a lot of Nairalanders don't know that the electoral act says for you to be declared as winner of a presidential election the candidate must win 25% of 36 states + Abuja which is 26.6% say 27 states.south south plus south east states equals 11 states.if you include any other 2 states it will equal 13 states.37 minus 13 equals 24 so I don't know why some APC members are celebrating huh.The bible say get knowledge and in all get understanding!
Wrong. To be declare the winner, the candidate must must the most plurality of the vote, and 25% of the vote in 2/3 of the 36 states. The problem with this set up is I can not see how GEJ can get 25% of the votes in 24 states. He can win the pluarlity of the votes because he is going to win the SS, and SE in a landslide. It is getting 25% in 24 states that is going to be his waterloo. He has to get 25% of the votes in 7 northern states. That ain't gonna happen. GMB on the other hand if go by the numbers is already winning in Oyo. Ogun, Lagos, Osun, and 25% of the votes in Ekiti. Add those states to the 19 northern states, You can see the writing on the wall.

Eruditor:
GMB didn't win a single SW state in 2011. He didn't even get more than 400k votes in the whole region. In 2015, he won Lagos, Ogun, Osun, Ondo, Oyo...only Ekiti was marginally left out- a number which he easily covered in his LGA at Daura.

Talk about the NC states he had a decent showing last time even though GEJ won there in 2011. Today, Benue and Kogi are foregone conclusions for GMB. Kwara was a mauling. We don't need to remind anyone of what will happen in the NW. The SS and SE are inconsequential.
Thank you for pointing this out. People can pray all they want, but when reality hits, ain't nothing you can do about it. GEJ made a bad bet by ignoring the SW in the make up of his administration, and that's coming back to haunt him now. SW gave him a mandate last time and this time they can see that with BUhari the number two spot his theirs, they don't even need to work for it. What I fear must with this election is that from now on the SW, and the North will form a permanent alliance that will leave SS, and SE in political wilderness for a long time
Politics › Re: Buhari Leads As INEC Commences Announcement Of Results In Kano - Daily Trust by t2luv1: 7:16pm On Mar 29, 2015
It should have been clear to anyone that knows anything about numbers. You have 36 states, 19 in the North and 17 in the South. Right from the go GMB has an inside track to winning. To get to 2/3 numbers, all he has to do to win is to gainer 5 more states, along with the 19 northern states, and he is a winner. He is going to win Lagos, Oyo, Osun,and Ogun. That will take him to 24, and by having gained more than 25% of the vote in Ekiti, like we say in vegas he has a flush. The South West gave GEJ last election in 2011, now the south west appeared to be making him the loser. Buhari can dismissed the whole SS and SE, and he will still win. For GEJ to win, he has to win the whole southern states, and still win 25% in 7 states in the North. That ain't happening.

Landslide victory for GEJ
I got news for you. Nigeria is made up of 36 states. Depending on how you count it. 17 states in the North, and 19 states in the South. In 2011, GEJ carried all the states in the South, and 2 in the Middle Belt. This time around the man is behind the eight ball. Out of the 7 states that make up the South West, he is only competitive in 2 states (Ekiti/Ondo). That means he is losing 5 states. Add the 5 to the 17 states in the North, you can see that the numbers just ain't coming up right. Even if GEJ wins Ondo, and Ekiti, he is still going to lose. Because 22 out of 36 is flush, GEJ is done, you can stick a fork in him. Trust me he knows it too. I know FACTS ARE STUBBORN THINGS.

It was not like this in 2011. The South west were with GEJ in 2011. Like I have been saying for a while, after the last election GEJ made a bad move by siding and trying to appeased the North. He forgot the regions that voted for him now he is paying the price for that action. Just look at the makeup his administration, look at the list of the people he had put in power from the 1st to the 20th position of power in his administration, you will be hard press to see someone from the South West. Now he wants the people from the South West to vote for him again by making promises. The South West people are not that stupid, they can see that with Buhari, the number two slot is theirs. That is politics for you. nothing personal.

lets get this straight. there is a diff between sexual attactiveness and marriage.

Men are primally interested in the former ONLY.

What is the legal age of consent in Nigeria.

Over 50 yrs ago, girls got married at 18-22 in nigeria.

What is happening now is girls do shakara until they are past do, the men do a marriage of situation/ convenience but their eyes are still set on the young. so they get married then cheat with students.

the onus is on the young girls to get steady boyfriends at their young age and set out their hearts to marry them.

In as much as I have serious reservation regarding the way GEJ has run his administration. I thought it is normal protocol for an ex president not to make bad comment about the current president. Is Obasanjo the only living ex-president we have. How come he thinks his opinion is all that important so much so that that every week he always has something to say. Why is this old man hell bent on saying outlandish things about this current administration. He has lost all the little respect I have for him. GEJ is the president, either we like or not. That much he deserve some respect. I am not a GEJ supporter, I think we need a change. I am saying this as a Nigerian, that want and dream of the best for our collective goods.

agabaI23:
Yesterday evening I went to swim and I met a government contractor lodged in the same hotel.

He does not want GEJ back. His grouse with GEJ is that since he came, he is no longer making money the way he was making from contracts. He confirmed that though his money now comes straight into his account without interference, that he preferred the pre-Jonathan era when things were not as tight. That now, they check the validity of any contract before money is paid out and the guy dey fall hand for business.

Then I asked him what do you think in his performance in Agriculture(Adesina), he said he has done well
I mentioned Aganga(Trade and investment) he said very well. he said NOI has done well too and went ahead to add the minister for works mike Onolememen. He said the man has done well too. Transport, he is impressed

And I asked, why won't you vote for him since you know all these? He said, he is not feeling him in his business. He wants things to go back to easier ways.

I told him about Sam Ohuabunwa's opening statement in his article where he said that good performance means different things to different people. He was a typical example of people who want him out because his reforms have reduced undue profit.

GEJ is fighting a hydraheaded monster. God is his strength
You kidding me right. The fact that this post has 119 likes is mind bugling. Let me tell how corrupt this administration is. If Jesus H. Christ flight into Nigeria arrive at 6 am in the morning, I can assure you his Holiness by 6pm that same day will be taking settlement for any miracle he performs. That is how contagious the corruption is with this administration.

Ilorin is in Kwara last time I check. Just because there are some Yoruba that happen to be in Kwara does not make Kwara part of the South West. Kwara is not in South West. You don't see people from the South West claiming Kwara as part of the South West. By the way never assume I am a Yoruba man. notoriousbabe:
YES, BUHARI IS SICK; AND SO AM I

Nigerians and their infinite capacity for facile propaganda. I wake up this morning and what I see all over social media is some poor taste, childish diagnosis of Major General Buhari as being sick.

Well, I agree. I agree that Buhari is sick. I am sick, too. Any Nigerian who is not sick is not sick because he or she is incurably sick. We are all sick. And we should be sick. So, yes,...

...Buhari is sick of the monumental corruption that has become institutionalized in Nigeria;

...Buhari is sick of the incompetence of a government that cannot protect the lives and properties of its citizens;

...Buhari is sick of the lack of a sense of urgency in the circles of government in Nigeria;

...Buhari is sick of a country that has placed itself on permanent reverse gear;

...Buhari is sick of a country that has left itself naked as it is raped dry by vagabonds in power;

...Buhari is sick of a youth population without jobs;

...Buhari is sick of a country where university education has become comparable to 8th grade competence in advanced civilizations;

...Buhari is sick of a country where roads are death traps;

...Buhari is sick of a country where people go into political offices near poor, but turn stupendously wealthy overnight;

...Buhari is sick of a country where education is priced beyond the reach of the common masses;

...Buhari is sick of a country where $20 Billion (possibly $40 Billion) of public fund develops legs and walks away, its whereabouts knowingly unknown;

...Buhari is sick of watching the country he loves ranked at the bottom of corruption index by Transparency International

Buhari is sick of a country that earns billions of dollars in oil revenue, yet has not a single functional oil refinery;

...Buhari is sick of a country where government has bowed to the dictates of power generator cabals in a conspiracy that ensures perpetual darkness;

...Buhari is sick of a country where senators and congressmen earn more than the president of the United States of America;

...Buhari is sick of a country where soldiers are so demoralized to confront a ragtag Boko Haram terror sect;

...Buhari is sick of a country where convicted looters are pardoned and fast tracked for senate positions;

...Buhari is sick of a country where life expectancy is among the lowest in the world;

...Buhari is sick of a country that is on international news for all the wrong reasons;

So, yes, Buhari is sick; and so am I.

Question is why is Jonathan not sick as well? Why has Jonathan remained healthy in the face of all the above-listed filth and diseases? Question is why is not every Nigerian sick of all the social maladies and existential outbreaks? It is a time to be sick, my friends. Buhari is; I am. Are you?

Let's all get sick of where and how Nigeria is. Let's get real sick. And the sicker we are, the healthier we are going to be. Let's schedule a doctor's visit on February 14. Let's not forget our health insurance card (voter card) as we go for this February appointment. We need to feel better. But until February 14, let's feel sick...

...Real sick!..............VITUS OZOKE is resident in the US and a Proff.. @ Salisbury University.

I am a firm believer in free market system. This current set up allows for corruption because there is no transparency. The importer operates in an environment where there are no risk involve in what they are doing, because the subsidy automatically guarantees them huge returns on their investment. The essence of a free market economy is base solely on risk and reward. Why should the government intervene in the en devour.
