Hello guys,

I applied via paper route about a week ago.resumption is for 1st of December though so my sch is on standby as per issuing another offer letter for next session in September if it is requested by CIC

As at when I submitted my application on the 6th,I was unemployed and I am aware of the possible implications of that from a VO's perspective.however I just received a good offer of employment from a reputable coy,an offer which I intend to accept pending the outcome of my visa application.I also believe this new employment profile could strengthen my application. Would it be a good idea if I forwarded this offer of employment document to the Accra email address referencing my linked online application number?your views pls cc: @michV cc: @folaroyal

THANKS A LOT

michV:
Go by the requirement of CIC, at least 1year. Information on that study permit form matters a lot. Hence any other clarification should be done in writing as LOE

Good evening house,

My masters program is a 2year program and i have funds that can cover the tuition, room and board and 'others' cost for these two years. I am preparing a table detailing the total amount of funds in my statement of account submitted and the total cost of studies for 2 years. After i do this it would be visible to see that i ve enof to cover this expenses and some change left

Now i am aware that CIC requires to see proof of funds for the first year only in a 2 year program provided their is a way to also proof that their is a projected income stream that can cover the cost of the second studies year but as i do not have an income stream or a sponsor i decided to show the total cost of two years since i ve sufficient funds to cover it.

now while filling the 1MM form i am at a dilemna as to what figures to put in there be it for 1 years cost of studies or 2.The reason i think i shud present my cost of studies for 2years n not 1 year is that i want them to see upfront that theres enof funds for the 2yrs so they dont refuse me based on sighting cost/funds only for the 1yr with no projections on how the 2nd year's cost would be covered.

opinions needed pls.

Hello house,

My understanding of this item is in 2ways and I would like some clarity pls.

I) the number of years of work experience the applicant has spent working in Canada OR

2) the number of years of work experience the applicant has worked in any country but must be in the NOC categories recongnised in Canada's labour market.

Opinions pls, especially from those that have scaled beyond this step.

Thanks a lot.

Hello dtk,

Pls did you eventually obtain a contact in OOU.I need one too?

Thanks.

Or anyone else in the house who can help pls.

dtk:
Hello House,

Pls anyone with any contact in OOU Ago Iwoye that can assist for transcript purposes ? Or if you have gotten yours, how did you go about getting the transcript? Out of 4 schools, that's the only one left at the moment. Thanks.

Then, for those that evaluated their first and masters degree with IQAS, my transcript for masters has already been delivered on Monday to IQAS but they are yet to send a mail to confirm receipt as stated on their site. Are they waiting to get my first degree transcript as well before they confirm receipt since they are to evaluate the two degrees or what exactly ? My wife masters degree transcript ought to have been delivered to IQAS from the UK school. The school did not provide us with the courier tracking details and we need confirmation they have received the document while we work on the OOU first degree transcript. Pls assist gurus. Thanks.

Hi guys. Cc @michV So I ve been out for a while now.mostly because my masters application to TRU and University of Waterloo was refused.I tink I gave up hope right there. I completely lost hope concerning my application to Carleton University as it ranked higher than Thompson rivers university n I was certain dey wud refuse me as well. You see my BA degree in French 10yrs ago was finished in poor grades of 2.54...n I cud understand why most schs din't want to be associated with that profile.but my work experience since then has been commendable as an IT consultant with a number of certification n work experience with some International firms based here in Nigeria.however this did not influence waterloo or TRU n I was certain Carleton would follow suit.Only for me to receive an offer of admission yesterday for Masters in Techbilogy Innivation Management. Now the only thing I did differently with this application was write a letter of Intent that was exceptional,I researched the many technological coys like SAP,IBM, and the likes n got there coys perspective and problems they would like to solve and I was able to relate the courses in the program as the knowledge resources like me wud be able to provide to such coys and I got a PHD student who had once managed me at work write a commendable letter as well.but I was still sure I widnt get in wit my grades,I am still in shock because this is a program that even the Ottawa province council is directly involved with so its well recongnised. Its for this winter 2017,cos of visa drama am looking to write the sch to request for extension til Sept 2017.what do you guys thinks or is the embassy still tending towards attending to masters applications faster?...I am still amazed that this happened...I honestly tot the dream was over...

That would consequently make the entire program 2 years and some months. You should check the financial aid/funding/awards section of their website. seems they have lots of scholarship programs for international students particularly for MBA students. I encourage you to apply there. It's a relatively young school.

Buh am curious, will the offer letter read "MBA FOUNDATION PROGRAM" or "MBA" so you won't have issues with CIC.

Hi Yemi,

Thanks again for helping out with my proof reading.

I raised the same concern and they clearly stated the letter would read MBA and the total duration inclusive of the MBA foundation period.but the school reviews on goodlw are bad and the correspondence experience I have had with them...I feel like they are desperate to admit just anyone.

Im also interested. Been running away frm GMAT schools

Guys.I assume you havent carried out your own private research on this school using good old Google.

The reviews are really bad.even after I researched I still reached out to the school via mail to confirm if my 2.2 could be considered.Well they did not only return my mail, they have called me like twice now and the person that called me asked about my qualifications and told me he was certain they could offer me admission thru their MBA foundation and I should apply asap and would get my admission letter in about two weeks to expedite my visa processing.

I was still concerned about how easy that was, then about 3days after they called to let me know they were reducing the cost of the MBA foundation to just about $2,500 but I would have to make payment immediately I am offered admission to confirm my seat.theie explanation for the discount was because they were aware of Nigeria's current exchange rate situation.

The final one for me was when they called again,to ask if I was still interested cos they noticed I had not sent my documents.at that point I knew i had had enough and I said I wasn't interested any longer.

Guys always read up on school reviews.just Google MBA canada west reviews.

Anyone that's been to this school and has had a good experience? Do share.

GUYS HELP YOURSELVES OOOOOO!!!

I am starting the application process to some universities MBA January 2017 program.i have seen some unis that have an 'easy' requirement process.Found about two schools. I intend to communicate to the admissions commitee via mails that they should please consider the study permit process in nigeria which takes about 15wks,hopefully this would hasten their process.

While i do this,i would continue to monitor CIC's response to PGC applicants on this thread for the next two weeks. If it continues to be unfavorable,i would request for them to pls return my passport and be ready to reapply by September with an MBA OFFER LETTER (i am positive i should get admission from this unis)

Pls does any one know how long it takes CIC to retuRn a passport or suspend the process upon request?

I trust my fellow PGC applicants to also be on the lookout for alternative routes...This week was the absolute eyeopener for me with the Masters 6-8wks applications that got approved.I am not going to try and understand why CIC has employed this tactics towards PGC applicants,i am simply going to help myself rather than rationalize it.

I quietly disagree with your analysis of half year for study duration. In fact if you hold a German degree, you receive expedited consideration. Meaning you do not even have to stay for the required minimum years as for someone without a German degree. Please do your research very well as your post might be misleading. For the avoidance of doubt, section 18b of the Residence Act states that Section 18b "A foreigner who has successfully completed his or her studies at a state or state-recognised university or a comparable educational establishment in the federal territory shall be granted a settlement permit, if 1. he or she has held a residence title pursuant to Sections 18, 18a, 19a or 21 for two years, 2. he or she has a job commensurate with his or her degree, 3. he or she has paid compulsory or voluntary contributions into the statutory pension scheme for at least 24 months or furnishes evidence of an entitlement to comparable benefits from an insurance or pension scheme or from an insurance company, and 4. the requirements of Section 9 (2), sentence 1, nos. 2, and 4 to 9 are met; Section 9 (2), sentences 2 to 6 shall apply mutatis mutandis". After your graduation, working for just two years qualify you for a settlement permit!

Many thanks for your response.

pls whats your bearing on duration of study and how it translates to obtaining the 18months work permit. Must the study period be beyond a period of 12months before one qualifies for an 18month work permit?

Hello guys am new here

recently started considering germany after canada decided to take forever in responding to PGC visa applications and since the amount i wantd to spend dere wud earm me a MBA degree (about 7M naira) in Germany

just a few pointers needed pls.

does one get 18months work permit after a 1year masters study?
can one apply for Permanent residency during the 18months period and after how many years after PR can one apply for citizenship
After buying health insurance is one completely covered?

I am leaning towards applying to Schiller International University for my MBA. i have sent them an email as i finished with a 2.2 and mentioned my work experience and certifications all in IT. They have indicated that my work experience could be leverage for the academics insufficiency so i would be considered.

Is anyone here scholling in Heidelberg. Also if i wanted to travel with a child would it complicate things?is education free for minors?do hubbies get work permits?

they have a session for january which is when am looking to start.

i know ur school, they defer if addmission is still valid but reapplication is when ur offer has expired but it ll be on cue again till they give you another LOA response.dont defer since ur recent LOA for fall is with CIC. mail michelle choi immediately it's their working time explaining this issue to her, make ur mail to her with the SUBJECT ''urgency'' including ur student ID.this is my input though, others from people r welcomed

Have been on this all day today.Michelle was unreachable via mails and calls. As per defer its on their website that they don't defer and Michelle confirmed this too I asked her weeks ago when I wantd to defer my admission to January so I requested for another acceptance letter and she sent me a link that indicated that I have to decline the offer first, den reapply and join the queue and be reaccepted for January.my concern is that if I do this n CIC requests for another admission letter from me if my visa application is processed late d school mite not ve reaches my re-application since I would be in d queue

Which is why I wanted to pay and accept this September offer even if visa won't b out then cause the school makes deferring considerations for those that don't make it for September due to visa related reasons.

Don't know what yo do.I already did form A wit d bank n hopefully by Monday it shud click.am tinkin of going ahead n make d pymt hopefully dt wud make dem retain my admission status.

Hi guys.

Am in a tight spot and I need tour opinions.

Am supposed to pay CAD 7,823 by latest today Canada time or my admission would be withdrawn.I currently have someone with this amount in cash in canada thru my FX agent here but the person insist he can only pay into the banks close to him which is Royal bank or TD bank. But the schools account is nova scotia .

Bin cracking my brain on a way out.am almost tempted to let the offer be withdrawn and reapply for next session in winter 2017 especially as am almost certain my study permit won't be out by September but am concerned to loose did admission. D school doesn't rily defer dey wud ask one to reapply all over again.
