Op, am a yoruba son of the soil first and foremost and then, a nigerian. Would love to go (eventually) into farming but know absolutely next to nothing about the profession (though am willing to learn), as i was born and raised in the city to a predominantly well-educated family. Anyway, i resent being referred to, as a "bastard" on account of my zero-knowledge of farming (and a nigerian). At any rate, i take solace in the conviction that, that is your own ignorant opinion which counts for nought as i know deep down within that, am not a bastard. Lastly, is the Op suggesting every adult nigerian should go into farming? I wonder.......................... |
cckris:The new nation was practising fiscal federalism until you know who, foisted centralised form of govt on us. |
Good news for everyone concerned.........................Got my broom at hand ready to sweep ****** outta my region. |
cckris:Zik (the infamous bride of nigerian politics) set the precedent in the 1st republic. Even after the civil war when north slaughtered them with gusto, Zik and his minions still went ahead and lined up behind the fulanis for what? Crumbs off their master's table. |
attackgat:You mean grown-up men from your neck of the wood? We 're not talking about teenagers, here o. If truly Bianca has never met FFK, what then stopped her from going ahead with her law suit to prove her claim (by her WALL STREET ATTORNEY)? Unless of course, she was lying. |
sweetgala:Abi o jare! It's no biggie!! ![]() |
NaYouGoTire:Yeah, we've heard it all before. The same old, lame and ediotic accusation devoid of any rational cognitive process. |
NaYouGoTire:At the onset of the war, Zik was a biafran and campaigned fervently for the biafran nation until he fell out with ojukwu and returned to the nigerian side. Of course, Awo betrayed the ibos by not sending his own people on a chicken run and falling for the cleverly laid out plan by ojukwu, |
cckris:And what were Ifeajunna's raison d'être for killing leaders from other region including his mentor and brigade commander (in cold blood) whilst sparing his own kinsmen? Oh well, good to know the message has finally sunk in.................................... |
wasco24:Unfortunately, the Northerners have never wished us (southerners) well. They slaughter us at the drop of a koran (allegedly), accurate depiction of Mohammed by a caucasian in faraway denmark, eclipse of the moon ati bebelo. |
Stingman:Truly, we know what we are and frankly speaking, we don't give a hoot what some hate-filled, mischievous and garrulous folks, East of the River Niger thinks of us. For all we care, you and your ilk can take a long walk off the shortest pier. It will be construed as good riddance. ..... |
OjukwuWarBird:Good............as the feeling is mutual. |
ODVanguard:Now you are talking! Why o why, do you think they all have flat heads? |
dontbanandquote:Going by your logic, I presume it's commonplace (in your neck of the wood) for a army general who having led his people into a gratitous war to then abandon them on the battlefield whilst he saved his own neck? Anyway, who is to say that the Ikemba wouldn' have begged for his life had he been captured by the ilk of Murtala? |
[quote author=attackgat posLike someone already suggested6689024]Everything I said in my post are historical facts. It's not like I made anything up. So what is there to be angry about? These things Facts ke? As if you can identify FACT even if it suddenly jump up and bite you on the nose. Just because you have recently learnt how to spell the word does not necessarily mean you can discern it. Your thread is asinine and like others had suggested earlier, the mods should have yanked it off the site and dump it in the gabbage bin where it rightly belongs. |
IHEJIRIKAisBOKO:Straight to the point!! Even long before we got independence, the ibo.s have been blabbing away about their goal and destiny to emerge as the leading light in the forthcoming nation. ”Igbo domination of Nigeria is only a matter of time”- Charles Onyeama, a prominent igbo lawyer and member of the Central Legislative Council, 1945. (Page 204 ”Ethnic Politics In Kenya and Nigeria” by Godfrey Mwakikagile). The first statement from Charles Onyeama, which was made in 1945, was the first overtly tribal and divisive comment that was made and recorded in the politics of southern Nigeria in our history. The second statement from Zik, which was made in 1949 succinctly denote Ibo's conceptualisation Of One (united) Nigeria. A nation in which they intend to be top-dog. Is it any wonder then that within 3months of their short term at the helm of our political affairs, the first thing they did was to centralised govt apparatus when it's clear to even the blind that, we are at that moment in our political sojourn in the wilderness, anything but united. Ironsi's decree 34 was ibo's final tool to actualise their "domination" streak, prophesy and ultimate agenda. In these aforementioned period, the notion of biafra never came in to their heads, in fact, they physically opposed those who dared to disintegrate their dream "One Nigeria". However, the moment they lost out in the power struggle, they suddenly discover biafra. Typical, if these folks can't be in control, they destroy. Same way they destroyed the NYM simply because they were not allowed to have their own way by imposing their candidate, against all party policies, on the party. |
Karm16:Do I need to remind you of when an Ibo man from a supposedly Yoruba political party attempted to rule his people? Not only did they lambasted him, they reserved the worst part of their abuses for "Awolowo's people" and their amala & ewedu politics. What has Awolowo got to do with an Ibo man aspiring to govern over his people? |
jstbeinhonest:A hollow chest - beating, flat.theaded orangutan - lookalike cross - dressing sis.sy. |
logicab:Ha, but Ojukwu had already dropped bombs on to lagos killing innocent yorubas in the process before he was eventually stopped at Ore. |
logicab:Precisely!!! This is why i dubbed ojukwu's supposedly "lightening strike" to take Lagos nothing more than a suicide mission which even IF it had succeeded, Ojukwu had no means of hanging on to those occupied territories with hostile hosts breathing down his neck at every junctions. Ojukwu took a huge gamble with his own peoples' lives (not his) but when it became obvious that he had lost the gamble, he didn't even have the sense to the mitigate the impact on his own people by throwing in the towel immediately, instead he clung on like a drowning would cling to a piece of string whilst fully cognisant of the fact that the piece of string is not strong enough to keep him afloat thereby exacerbating his peoples' woes. Ojukwu only decided to give up on his silly and audacious gamble when his OWN life became apparently on the line. What a general.................... |
logicab:Even IF (emphasis mine), the BLF had got to Lagos, it would have been a more fierce battles than Ore with a more huge number of collateral damages who will be mainly, yorubas. However, how does Ojukwu intend to hang on to lagos when he hasn,t even bothered to secure his flank. How does he planned to reinforce his rapidly advancing troops with necessary war materials including men? Even the the folks in the mid-west region whom ojukwu had forcibly occupied their land were already waging a guerilla warfare against BLF long before Banjo set off from the allegedly-"liberated" region for his ancestral land on what he must have know, is a suicide mission. I truly feel for the guy. He found himself in a quandary (in gaol in iboland at the commencement of the war), and Ojukwu simply made him an offer he just can't refuse as am sure ojukwu would have had no qualms shooting Banjo dead as a SABO, had he voiced objection to the former's ill-thought misadventurism. Am certain, the moment Banjo left enugu at the head of Ojukwu rag-tag BLF- Biafran Liberation(sic) Front evidently as a TROJAN HORSE, he knew deep down that he was never coming out of the conflict, alive. |
eshietIntrepid:Am surprised to see the bolded above, included in the list. Honestly, some folks are truly " su.ck.ers for punishments"! |
Lobatan!!! Another one bites the dust!!! Slowly but surely, it shall be eventually conveyed unambiguously,to buhari and his fulani brothers that irrespective of party affiliation or not, there is no free land available, anywhere in yorubaland for grazing reserves. |
theDEVILisHERE:And which one of my "nonsensical stories" had you been able to debunk with your retort.? ? |
ilovetheline:I guess not, in as much as you (and your ilk) are willing to recall and admit that the ibo coupists of January 1966 were wrong in killing leaders (both military and political) of other regions whilst coincidentally sparing theirs. It was totally wrong of them to arrogate to themselves the roles of prosecutor, judge, jury and executioner of our nascent democracy at the time. Lobatan!!! |
theDEVILisHERE:The late Ikemba promised worse but in the end fled to abidjan in the middle of the night in garments, any TS would die for. |
“These things are perpetrated by criminals. No doubt what happened is sad but before investigations are conducted, people jump to conclusions that things were done by herdsmen; it may be so, but at least as a governor he should wait and find out who the perpetrators are before apportioning blame.Oh, it's now that he wants us to wait for investigations? After how many killings? displacements? destructions of entire livelihood?, kidnappings, myriad rape? Thousands, without any of them including the Chief security Offic er of the nation, flickering an eyelid. All animals are equal......................but when strangers starts killing their hosts with impunity and gusto then it's time to draw a Line. Never liked Fayose nor swayed by all his silly media charade but in this instance, i quite concur with him. His primary responsibility is to the people of ekiti state who, rightly or wrongly voted for him to manage their affairs and not to the strangers to the state or their their cows. |
idensko:Hmmmm I guess not . Remind me please, what exactly did ojukwu thought he was doing on Jan 9, 1970 when he ran off to Abidjan under the cover of darkness? He simply left his people at the mercy of the invading force whom he had earlier on, told his people were out to annihilate them. However, this was not the case, evidently (else you wouldn't be here to spew this gibberish), but not before ojukwu had wasted 2 million innocent biafrans lives for his personal war. Even in the face of obvious defeat, Ojukwu persisted with HIS war and despite the harsh conditions innocent biafrans were going through then, the eze gburugburu of iboland rejected two further peace accord in 1968, convened to end what has now clearly turned out to be. a one- sided war. |
Oh what a country!!! A country that has been in a Cold war, right from its inception with.................itself. And over 6 decades after attaining self-rule, the country is still in a Cold war with..............................itself. |

It doesn't matter how many times you cane them, they still keep coming back for more thrashings.
