Ojukwu signed for death, I don't think he should have run when he called for civil war. He just wasted 2million souls and flee without looking back. cry
But he did "look back". In fact, not only did he look back but he came back (with his tails tucked firmly behind his yam-tuber

legs) to lick the backsides of those he vowed to only deal with on the battle field and who slaughtered his (ibo) people with gusto. Additionally, he

came back to also marry the prettiest "well-past-her-use-by-days" olosho, half his age in the(ir) land.

In other words, the so-called world powers needed to combine forces in order to face the republic of Biafra.

You dont know what you are talking about. Ojukwu did not go to war, war came to Ojukwu. I have read Hillary Njoku's book 'Tragedy without heroes'. The problem Hillary Njoku had with Ojukwu was more of seniority. Njoku was senior to Ojikwu and never got over the fact that by the declaration of Biafra, Ojukwu had become senior to him. Both men clashed on issues such as the preparation for the looming war amongst other things and Ojukwu had no choice but to fire him and place him in detention for the duration of the war because of the fear that Njoku might defect to the Nigerian side.

It should be noted that the only reason Nigeria won the war was due to the fact that British ships blockaded Biafra and Russian planes dominated the sky. Had Britain and Russia stated neutral, there no way Nigeria would have won. Nigeria wouldn't even have had the money to fight a war
Njoku's major clash with Ojukwu was the façt that he knew biafra was not ready to confront the federal might and didn't shy away from telling ojukwu so. His reasons were based on the reality on the ground as opposed to ojukwu's emotional knee-jack reaction.

Same thing the late sage, warned him against to which Ojukwu retorted the following day on a bbc radio interview that the old man was talking "nosense".

It's a free world and as such you are welcome to your belief. Even if Banjo had got to lagos, i believe Ojukwu would have still lost the war (assuming there were no british, russian planes) , simply 'cause he will find it hard to retain his hold on the capital.

Hillary Njoku was the best military tactician of that era. Military strategist on the federal side like Adekunle and Alabi-Isama were scared of facing him. Ojukwu out of his insecurity locked him and many other brilliant officers up throughout the war.
Hilary Njoku was only a handfull of folks who refused to be swayed by Ojkuwu's emotional outburst by reminding him of the futulity of going to war against the federal govt.

All the ibos who were opposed to the war, Ojukwu omitted to invite to the charade he termed a referendum to determine the fate of ibos in the new country.

Consequently, all those handpicked by Ojukwu for the villagesquare meeting chanted "Ojukwu give us guns" thereby mandating him to go to war.

Any other dissenting voices were either locked up or dubbed "saboteurs" and done away with

THANK YOU.

You have educated that whiteangel1234 who reasons with the pettiness of a 5 year old.

Where were they when arewa youths gave igbo people ultimatum to vacate the north? They have short term memory when it suits their petty, juvenile politicking.

Biafrans will shoot themselves in the foot again and again, because of their penchant for politics of exclusion, hate and delusion.

Now they want the centre. Hilarious! All their candidates in the past suffered avoidable defeats because they preferred to cut their nose to spite their face. One cannot forget the debilitating defeat Ojukwu suffered at the polls. Same thing happened this year, to Moghalu (even though he played the ethnic card throughout to curry their favour). They preferred to zone their PDP “birthright” to the north for a pot of atikulated porridge. Watery Porridge that later burned their lips.

Azikiwe thought himself to be the bride of the parliament and aligned his party with the NPC for a ceremonial title. Reminiscent of Ekweremadu’s eagerness to be the butt of the north, seeking the post of deputy Senate president to yet another northerner. Who are the real slaves? All accounts of the civil war clearly state that the killings started in the north. What did the biafrans do? They turned around and faced the west to wage a war they had no chance of winning. This unreasonable animosity towards the west did not start today or even in 1960. Lord knows why they feel the need to hate on people who cannot be bothered about them.

Watch as they make yet another ill-informed, hate-inspired decision as 2023 approaches.
Abi o jare!!! who are the real slaveshuh

We all still remember azikwe who styled himself as the " beautiful bride from the east" who is open to all suitors but in actual fact has only penchant for sniffing fulani bu.ll.ocks. In spite of the way and manner the north decimated their population, barely a decade after war, the ibos were back sniffing fulani bo..ll..ocks as they aligned with the same fulanis in the second republic.

Truly, Who are the real (fulani) slaveshuh??

For the first time in the 59years of this contraption, some yorubas aligned with the north and ever since, these children of hate and mischief have been chanting "afonja slaves" like inebirated newts. Even when you remind them of how their father-the slimy Zik started the trend and even after the civil war wherein the north made mincemeat of their alleged "innocent ones" , among them, they still fell over themsrlves in their bid to lick another fulani's arse.

Even their late warlord who led them into such a shambolic war, having played on their emotions, ran off only to come back and lick the same northerners' a.r.se who pogromised his ibo people in thr biafra nay oil war.

I am sure you are from the south. That is the problem with you Southerners. Does the North even share this nonsense you just spewed here that you are first Nigerian?
The north has never seen themselves as Nigerians first , most especially the fulanis who have got the rest of us in vice-like grip since 1967 when they killed Ironsi the dunce who insisted we should all be one united country inspite of our glaring differences.

Yerima was unambiguous in his assertion (after purchasing a 15yr old egyptian girl as a bride) that he is more answerable to his koran than the constitution of Nigeria as such he hasn't committed any crime. Meanwhile, the pedophile made his wealth from the same country he has no desire or inclination to abide by her Laws.

Now they are trying to settle their kith and kins from mali, niger, chad etc in southern part of nigeria under the guise of Ruga settlement.

Same thing the Igbo thought if they don’t align will the north, the Yorubas will. It’s just a political game by the leaders and we are just pawn in the game."

Your comments on this issue is level-headed and issue-oriented. But l totally disagree with you on the assertion above. The foundation of animosity between the Igbos and Yorubas is the deceitful role Awolowo willingly and purposely chose to play in the Nigeria - Biafra Civil War that should have been an opportunity for the south to permanently deal with the Hausa/Fulani nuisance created by the British Colonialist.
I thought you guys claim the source of your grouse with the yorubas was 'cause the yorubas wouldn't let you manage their affairs in the 1951 regional election due to carpet-crossing? For that reason, ibos labels yorubas, tribalist.

It's either you have reading problem or comprehension deficit 'cause i can't see anywhere in my post above where i claimed

Nevertheless, his minions continue to strategise how to wrestle power from the ibos, from their northern enclaves.

gosh...are you this daft? i repeat no one cares if he took you to hell. we just wanted to be left alone. and who was killing you? and which war did we bring to your land? if you are talking about the movement of Biafran troops to Lagos then you are a slowpoke. where exactly was the seat of power? was it not Lagos? were you expecting them to go to Kano? if you didn't want crises or blood shed as you want us to believe then you would have told the F.G to relocate the seat of power to any northern state and remain neutral. you just like to put your mouth where it does not consign you. undecided
Now, who's the daft one here?

The northerners slaughtered your fathers in their revenge coup after you guys had murdered their (northern) leaders in cold blood.

The seat of power might have been in lagos however right from independence day, the govt of the day was run from northern nigeria apart from the six months, the ibos held sway courtesy of Ironsi's coup.

I presume that was why you lost the war. Had ojukwu gone northwards to avenge his people's death, the few northerners in western nigeria
(abeokuta, ibadan and lagos) would have had no choice than to move back up to their region to defend their territory and kinsmen. There's no way those northern soldiers stationed in yorubaland will stay put to defend lagos- the seat of power whilst their people are been killed in the north by ojukwu's BLF.

The mid-west region was no where near the seat of power but that didn't stop ojukwu from invading the region, occupying the land and foisting his own stooge on the indigenes. He, Ojukwu had similar scheme for yorubaland as evidenced from his letter to Lt. Col. Banjo.
