- **Passport Request:** July 9, 2024

This is my first time applying to Canada, intending to visit my younger brother. Despite previous visa refusals 2 for the USA, 4 for the UK, and 2 for France), I managed to do the visitor visa application myself, and with God's grace, it was perfected.

I applied December 19th 2023 till now nothing yet . I did biometric a week later,just wondering what I can do as it passed the processing times . I recently was issued a South African visa . Should I can and send ircc via a web form a copy of my new South African visa ?

I am based in Warri and I don’t want to travel to lagos twice that’s why I intend to use the Express courier while for the keep my passport I need to drop it in the us embassy for renewal hence I can’t drop my passport in TLS

I sent a web form withdrew my application June 1st because of the long processing time been waiting since last year .

However I received BVL like a week ago , but no other information , my application is still showing

“Your application is in progress.”

Is this normal ?

Please can explain to me if you withdraw your application do you get any correspondence from them ? How do you know if your application has been successfully withdrawn?

Hello I have a question. Will you be required to do a new biometric for permanent, if you already have a valid Biometric via your TRV application??

Can Someone use the biometric done for TRV to apply for PR . Or the person will need to give a new biometric??

I withdrew my TRV application June 1st 2022, because of the long processing time. I applied since nov 2021 via the new portal but no response . I raised a gcms note and when I received it I saw that my application is still inprocess only background checked passed, bio passed ,security check passed , nothing yet has been done even eligibility has not started .

After I raised a web form to cancel and redraw my application . My eligibility started two day ago on the portal .

If you were able to cancel or successfully redraw your application, how long did it take ?

I am yet to get a response that my application has been redrawn or cancelled .

When I applied there was no section for bank statement, hence I did not upload.

Hello guys , a friend of mine applied for student visa in December 2021. He missed his biometrics request letter which was sent in January 2022, as he didn’t see the mail on time. Now the Biometric instruction letter has passed due date. What can be done?

I have been waiting since last year nov . Applied for TRV via the new portal yet no progress, eligibility has not even started . I have raised multiple web forms . Only got one response from Nairobi saying

“ kindly note Our office is currently experiencing application volumes that exceed our capacity to process all applications within the average processing times. Our office will contact you as soon as more information or documents are required. ”

So I have been waiting since . My propose travel date that I mentioned in my application date is this weekend . What happens when that propose date passes by and I don’t get any response?

Should I upload additional documents via a web form such as payslip and bank statements or my income tax clearance because I did not include it because there was not place holder to include it because i have a valid us visa .

In the additional information, I uploaded all my ties to Nigeria .

My question based on your US visa , did you send bank statement or proof of fund ? As when I applied via the new portal , it didn’t ask my for any bank statement

No Eligibility review was done


Only saw Eligibility and Background check completed on the day visa was stamped .

Sent via DHL to VFS Abuja (takes 3-4 days max)

I had valid USA visa and also my trv just expired in January, have an application for post graduate work permit in progress too. Application was to renew TRV to return to Canada with my kids who are Canadian passport holders.

Based on the questions whilst filling the form, I qualified for the CAN+ I believe.

Yes I changed my passport number, because my old one expired. Could that be the reason

I go an additional document request to make a payment of $85 , however I did not know what the money was for . After making payment and uploading the receipt I go a Biometric request letter. I have a currently valid biometric hence I am surprised the are asking for a biometric or is it because my old biometric had my maiden name ?

Please what do I do ? I can’t travel to do another biometrics and my old biometric with my previous last night is still valid till 2027 . Please what do I do .

As someone mentioned here some days ago, if you have been to USA or Canada in the past 5 years or you currently have USA VISA, they won’t ask for Bank Statement.

So I guess your case fall into that category because it’s NOT POSIBLE for them not to ask for Proof of Funds (Bank Statement) if you are not in that category I mentioned above.

I fall under the category.. hence I did not upload bank statements ,because it is was not required.

Meanwhile in the WhatsApp group I belong for people who applied via the new portal someone from Philippines got approval in 6 days .

I am applying for my wife. She traveled to US and Canada in 2016. Both visas have expired. She
has valid UK and Schengen visas

The way the portal is programmed if you been you Canada in the last 10 years or have a valid us visa , I guess you will not need to upload proof of fund.

For me I was not ask to upload proof of fund .

Hence I did not .

Just when I submitted I saw that they have banned Nigeria . For us that applied as tourist what is our faith . This is just sad
