Look at Nigeria today—anyone earning 150k is broke, and the average Nigerian man cannot marry a woman who earns more than he does. So, he’ll settle for someone earning minimum wage or slightly above it, meaning the family's total monthly income is less than 250k. And yet, some people think these families should consider having three kids?

Now, how many Nigerian families even make 250k monthly? I swear, they’re not the majority. Out of roughly 250 million people, only about 5% have 500k in their accounts, and yet we’re out here having kids like it’s a competition.

Go to the streets, and you’ll see kids hawking and working to support their parents. But if you suggest that parents who can’t take time off work to properly care for their children, due to poor earnings, should rethink having kids, they come for your head. Some will even complain about the gap in their CV.

You can’t afford to put your kids in a daycare where their safety is reasonably guaranteed, and you can’t take time off to care for them. So what’s the point? You end up with unfinished responsibilities, a job that feels like a prison sentence, neglected children, and your mental health in shambles—all because you want to have kids like everyone else.
