naptu2: "Molue, Lagos City Transport" was by Too Low For Zero. I think that was in 1987.
Mustapha Amego was the host of Kessingsheen Hit Show/Sunday Rendezvous. His catch phrase was "Hit me". He later became the president of PMAN and when some people complained that he wasn't a musician, he released a song.
The song was a reggae song (like Molue, Lagos City Transport), but I can't remember its name.
Mustapha Amego died in the US in the 2000s, but I can't remember what killed him.
Actually, Mustapha released music long before he became PMAN'S president, he debuted the album on the Kessingsheen Hit Show, and it was pretty good
naptu2: I could have sworn that I heard Charly Boy's version of this song sometime between 1986 and 1989, but the Internet is telling me that it was released in 1990.
This song was originally done by the Funkees in the 1970s and it's no surprise that Charly Boy covered it (it's a Charly Boy kind of song).
jacksol: I'd bet that HOD is Igbo too. The Igbo tribe is notorious for this kind of sadism especially to their own kind. You would not find this kind of thing in the North. For example you'd find so much unhealthy competition among the Igbos in the Fed public service, whereas the other tribes prop their kind up.
Sorry, but as an Igbo woman myself, I can confirm that greedy bastard does NOT represent me.
Tokziby: Another Gabriel Agbolahor in the making. Gbolahor was way better than Tammy yet he was used and dumped, Dele Ali is already done representing England, Late Ugo Ehiogu got the same treatment. John Fashanu still regret till date for dumping Nigeria. Ameobi changed his decision when it was too late. And host of others. The English team has never retained any player for longer period except when they are extremely good like the likes of Beckham, Lampard, Scholes, Shearer, Rooney, Lineker, neville, etc. Tammy and Fikayo will be used and dumped as usual.
Goodluck, enjoy ur short term career at the International level.
Actually, John Fashanu did try to represent Nigeria a few times, playing for the national team a few times. He planned to join the squad during USA 94, but Nigeria wouldn't have him. To be fair he wasn't that good, even John himself said that in an interview once.
pelvicky: Good day guys, i just created an account with okada books and i refilled my wallet with a sum of #300 by mobile transfer but I have yet to see the evidence of payment on my okada account, still #0.00 since 8am this morning
The second edition of my debut novel Bitter Perceptions is out now. And it's free! Find out what happened to Doris and Jide after that night in the student flat...
olaBC007: Please lady , ill soon publish my erotica on okadabooks, is there any strict rules against vulgar words like dixk and pussay??
I'm not sure. Some of my characters swore like sailors although I never included sex scenes, but I was still forced to classify my book as 18 Adults Only. I won't name names, but I know at least one writer on Okada who frequently describes exactly what her heroines get up to behind closed doors, yet no-one complains.
Backstreet Boy AJ McLean received a shock when he traced part of his heritage to Nigeria. The American boyband, best known for 90's worldwide hit I Want it That Way, took heritage tests in honour of their current world tour named after their latest album DNA. Fellow Backstreet Boy Howie Dorough also discovered he had African ancestry, although the results did not specify the exact location. The tests, provided by myheritage.com, gave more surprising revelations, including Dorough's Scandinavian roots and Nick Carter's Italian background.
McLean, upon uncovering his Nigerian heritage, remarked "This is pretty freaking cool."
My newest book is coming to Okada soon, but only if you're interested in pageants like MBGN and Miss Nigeria. Titled Chasing Crowns: The Pageant Diaries, the story follows Annie, Mayen, and Sapphire, three girls from different walks of life competing at the prestigeous Naija Girl pageant despite the odds. You can read the first chapter here: https://tamiokorodedeh.net/2019/07/26/chasing-crowns-the-pageant-diaries/
yeyeosoronga: Tamar doesn't sing and can't blow with any recording she tries (I think she she was in a girl band group with her sisters, but that didnt last long). Her sister Toni who was in Nigeria some weeks ago is the only serious singer in their family and even she has not released any reasonable single in a long while. Tamar is more like a socialite in America
Tamar doesn't sing?!?! You do know she's a grammy-nominated artist, right? Even Lady Gaga endorsed her work. And yes, Tamar was lead singer in the group The Braxtons - Toni was originally a member, but the record company was only interested in her as a solo artist. I liked their cover of The Boss, but they didn't sell.
elmagnifico411: R.I.P to which dead? Her soul will know no peace. Do you know the kinda pains she’s putting her parents through?
To all the young people out there, especially those ones still in school; I beg u, don’t take your life cos of some stupid boy or girl. No matter how high u think of them, or how good they make u feel having them around, they’re are not worth your life! Don’t kill your parents before their time. A lot has been invested in u, and these parents are expecting h a return I.e u come out well and be somebody in life. Don’t pay them back with killing yourself. The devil is on rampage, don’t be a victim.
I wrote the same thing on my blog, but no-one read it. The only time people are interested is when someone eventually takes their own life.
