Oh my God! this diagnosis is really upsetting. For me I suggest we arrange all the test results and send to India so we can get a likely estimate for treatment. I would insist on HCG hospital Bangalore India. It is a cancer specialty center well known and highly recommended. I know someone with cancer of the blood- I think they call it Leukemia, after spending over 4million at National hospital Abuja, the guy was getting worse and dieing. He was then flown to India. At HCG he was charged just about 3 Million naira. He was treated with the latest state of the art machines. He came back to Nigeria well and did his wedding. Also that's where Dora Akunyili was taken to. unfortunately she went very late. But for someone of that calibre to go there you should know it is a highly recommended hospital.
Secondly I am highly against getting cancer treatment in Nigeria. All they give is their chemo that can even kill. Even when they are lucky for it to work, in a short time it reoccurs and kills them.Never will I advice anyone. People who have relatives or friends who have cancer will never advice that. If worse come to worst, UCH is better but India is best.
From what I have seen and observed cancer treatment in Nigeria is a no no no!
There re a lot of cancer survivors in nigeria. Plenty pple who were diagnosed early, here in nigeria and are alive nw.While giving ur recommendations for d India hosptital, pls leave off d exaggerations. Some patients in nigeria present late to d hospital. They first tell demselves 'its nt my portion', then go to prayer houses for months, then herbal treatment before remembering there re hospitals. Then they ll expect d dr to perform a miracle. It doesnt work dat way.Cancer treatment depends on d type of cancer, as well as d stage @ presentation

Hmm!

You "felt my recommendations were falloting atimes"? Hmm!

Twinnie, my recommendations always go with the word "likely". That word simply shows I'm not 100% certain on my suspicions, diagnoses, or conclusions, since I'm dealing with online complaints, and can't get to examine or run tests on the complainants. Rather, it indicates my suspicion, diagnosis, or conclusion has a good chance of being the case!

So always try to read and understand the technicality in my recommendation.

About the 'hmm' of a thing, well it's my way of getting the lady's attention. I never used the 'hmm' to allude she was wrong.

If no be say you don marry, I for don take you out for lunch tey tey, make we sitdon pull stuff. But ya hubby fit break my head o! Lol
Of course u never say never in medicine, so we ll always say 'likely'. Bt dats nt my point nw. My point s dat d 'hmm' came out smhw. It didnt come out nicely.Lets render d help we re here to render whyl still respecting one another. Happy holidays

Why did Jaybee3 pick a fight with me for rightly saying they pledged to help DJ?? It was Doc Osisi that I was talking to before the Jaybee came to turn the subject to them again, jeez. Bloody liar. Sunday go reach now, they will carry Bible. Pathetic!!!
pls stop wt d name calling. before it was 'shameless jaybee3', now bloody liar. wen u call all dese names, it removes our focus frm d point u re making. Make ur recommendations without d name calling. Thank u

Please all its actually out of concern some doctors recommend cs. Not all doctors are about the money. We may not have all the details. Eg how long did it take her to get pregnant. How did she get pregnant. .. etc these could be some reasons why a doctor will book cs from the start. CS is not evil. Even though in this part of d world if you say u gave birth via CS ppl will say ayah.
My dear, wot u said is correct, there re medical indications for cs.Bt d bitter truth still remains dat some drs extort patients.U kno sm patients dont ask questions so dese drs tk advantages of such patients. U cant imagine it bt its true. dats y i asked her dose questions for a clearer history.

Hmm!
Medicine is very vast. If u dont agree wt anoda dr's recommendation, u just gv urs. d 'hmm' is rather smhw. Afterall, none of us hv seen nor examined d patient. There hv bn times wen i ve felt ur recommendations too hv bn high falloting bt it qont mk me 'hmm' u cos u may b right. So Tashamania may nt b wrong.

I want to digress a bit. Is it true that putting breast milk in a baby's eyes will make them clear? My MIL just said I should start putting it in my baby's eyes. I know I won't do it though. It's just new to me and that's why I'm asking.
No medical basis for dat. pks dont do it.

Haven't you all received enough interpretations to know where we are now what to do next?

This is getting annoying
Busybody move over,na me dem go attack now

U need to undstd dat these pple are not doctors,, sm of dem may nt b in d nedical field. i think its nt out of place asking for a dr on ground. It ll b more profitable. d dr ll gv him audience more dan wot u hv sent via mail(wch is commendable).
And i need to b clarified. From wot i ve gathered frm d posts, i tot they ve already said its cancer bt d 'primary focus' isnt confirmed yet.? Or am i wrong? Sm1 shld pls clarify me

My brother, she isn't the only one involved. I'm also 34 weeks and I ve been feeling pain on the lap areq since week 24. The worst thing is the pain keep moving from right leg to left leg weekly. Atimes I use to think the lap wants to detach from my body. At 28th week, I started having pain in the pubic area and I was afraid that I had to run to the hospital. I took 3k cab and after seeing the doctor I was asked to take paracetamol 20naira undecided and move my mind away from it because all is fine. So please tell wiffy that all is fine. She should just take paracetamol and most importantly accept that it's part of the baggage. Around this time, last week I was lamenting on being tired of the whole thing but my lovely people here encouraged me. We are almost there. May God make the remaining few weeks easy for us. Amen.
Good to see u encouraging others. its well dear. one day @ a tym. u ll soon share ur birth story

Hello sir,
Please advise me. My baby also suddenly stopped taking her cereals, but she takes adult meals, her formula and BM. She also runs mild temperature every once a while. It all started 2weeks ago when she had very high temperature. I gave her paracetamol and wen it persisted I gave her Lonart antimalaria. She became better bt after abt 4 days d temp started again and this time with cough and catarrgh. So I took her to d hosp. We ran test and they discovered malaria and mild infection. So she was given malaria injection for 3days. She was also given flagyl and sefzitil suspension. Bt she always vomits d sefzitil. She's fine now except for d on and off temperature(not high) and the cough and catarrgh.
Kindly advise on what to do. Is it because she didn't take d sefzitil? Can u recommend another antibiotics to perform d function of d sefzitil. Why did she suddenly stop the cereals she used to like a lot?
A lot of questions running through my mind. I really want her temp to go back to normal
Thanks a lot.
pls tk ur baby to d hsptl. if she still has fever after antimalaria therapy then go bk to d hsptl.do u hv a thermometer, if no, pls get one. its impt. u cld also gv her multivite. she probably has lost appetite after d illness. she ll recover it gradually.

Honestly have tried the method, its nt working.the problem is he will glady collect the food when you try to spoon feed him ,but he will never swallow it;after few seconds he brings it out from his mouth.
our mothers then hv dis metgod of forcing food down, they close d nose, or blow on his face and d baby is forced to swallow. dis method has its disadvantages o, its nt soo ideal bt it works

But isn't that counterproductive? I mean its like pushing out shit when no shit wants to come out. It takes more physical strength to do rather than just allowing your body to do what its naturally supposed to do i.e pushing when the urge arises
of course, even wen d nurses re ready, u wont just push. u push wen u hv contractions. they ll need to confirm dat all parameters are ok ( fully dilated and fully effaced). they need to b ready to gv u an episiotomy if u ll need one instead of ur baby giving u a tear. dats y they need to b aware b4 u push. bt definitely, even wen they re ready, u only push as u hv d urge ie wt contractions

Hello to all the mamas here. Congratulations to all that have given birth and wishing those yet to a very safe delivery. I've been reading up a lot on delivery and came across what could be termed as the different methods of giving birth and I would just really appreciate it some could share their experiences. I heard in most naija hospitals the nurses or doctors are the ones that tell u when to push instead of just letting ur body tell u when to push. Which did u find much easier? Doctor's direction or ur own body. And is it true that pushing feels like going to the toilet? I'm 38 weeks now so just trying to get all necessary info and reduce my anxiety on the D-day. Thanks
lol dear. i feel u. its better to push wen d drs and nurses re ready for u. if u push b4 tym, u ll most likely hv tears. So wait till d nurses tell u to push.If u re habing d urge to push, and they re nt ready, shout o and let dem kno. they need to b ready for u sha. and yess, u push like u do wen u re constipated.
