@sugarcanebaby, in my opinion, their is no 'best' baby product. There re a lot of good ones out there in the market, depends on the size of ur pocket. If u ask this same question in other 'mum grps', na so so diverse answers u go dey get. My advice is, wchever one u finally settle for, stick to it. Don't keep changing from one to the other, esp within the first yr. All the best.

@zimunachimdi, u don't need to apply anything if u did plastibel ie the ring type. Wear diaper normally, bathe him normally, it ll fall out on its own. I have two sons and that is what I did. NOTHING.

Present ma, 18weeks+ but as at last week when I was 17weeks according to lmp scan was already showing 18weeks5days. Mamas pls I asked yesterday if Laridox is safe but nobody answered, e jo o I still dey wait for answer. Its d same as fansidar and its safe. Usu given to prevent malaria in pregnancy and shld b taken b4 36wks.

@zaynie, doctors(paediatricians) prescribe infacol. Its not in d same category wt gbomoro or gripe water and d rest. The advice is usu to wait it out but in very severe cases, u can gv infacol, and it does help most of d time.

mamas help me out here. my lo usually have this tiny rashes around one of her eyes. i used to think it was because she slept for long. i used to apply ori(shea butter) mixed with funbactA. Then apply Rising raving powder. it clears it. But i stopped when i heard funbactA isnt good for baby skin even with the ori. I've not used anything for like a week.
Now the eye itches her almost every evening and it becomes red with rashes around her eyelid down to the cheek area.
I tried sudocreme+shea butter this evening
no improvement

From my experience, I have noticed when they give episiotomy, the baby also goes ahead and tears the person resulting in a greater tear but if baby gives u a tear without episiotomy, it's usually mild and heals easily. Who's had this experience?
Tchiwinnie, and other experienced mamas abeg chook mouth let me know if i'm wrongy.

I think its the other way round o. When baby gives u tear, it's 'scattered', anyhow. bt episiotomy is usu neater. Of course, smtyms baby can still gv tear even wt episiotomy esp when d epis wasn't 'generous' enuf.

Cerlac is fine for a 6 month old. For the pap, don't give up. He may refuse it the first few tyms but persistence is the key. ensure the pap s well fortified and tasty.

I have introduced formula, my question is...for 6months 7 scoops to 210ml is required .can I do 3.5scoops for 105ml? Or 4scoops to 120ml (this is for a 3-4months old as seen on the can). The ratio of formulae to water is 1:30. That is 1 scoop to 30mls of water. So for 3 scoops it wld be 90mls not 105. Its better u remove the .5, as u won't be able to get that exactly. I ll suggest u start wt 60 or 90 mls, then gradually increase as ur baby gets used to d milk, so u don't waste milk. well done mama.

Sitz bath isn't done wt hot water or steam as that would degrade the stitches. Rather u SIT in warm water to which u must have added savlon and salt, as ma'am zaynie pointed out. U use a wide mouthed bowl that u can comfortably SIT IN.
