DeepSight:Looool So this is all a popularity contest to you. You think this is about recruiting new members to our course? I respect everyone's opinion and I understand that we all can't be on the same side of an argument. Flanker:Did you just say anyone can write anything on Wikipedia? That's very wrong and it shows you really don't know what you are saying. Like any other source, Wikipedia can be wrong but they are very credible. The good thing about Wikipedia is that they link their sources below You have proven that you are not really credible. Let's assume Wikipedia was wrong, it's on you to point us to better sources and explain how Wikipedia got it wrong. Your personal bias towards Wikipedia is a non argument. Lastly you highlighted nature.com. can you please explain what makes nature.com a more credible source than Wikipedia? Also, from reading your link, you actually proved my point. The Arabs colonized and dominated the Berber in every single way. Tunisians are descended from two main groups: Arabs, who arrived in the Middle Ages and brought Islam, and Berbers, who are indigenous to North Africa. Because of significant intermarriage between Arabs and Berbers, generally they are referred in conjunction as the Arab-Berber ethnic group. However, there are some differences between these groups. The demographic break-down of Tunisia is as follows: Arab-Berber: 98% European: 1% Jewish and other: 1% The Arab Ethnic Group As mentioned previously, Arabs arrived in Tunisia during the Middle Ages, when the early Islamic caliphates spread across a vast expanse of territory. The Arabs brought with them the Arabic language, which most Tunisians speak, and the religion of Islam, which most Tunisians follow. Like Tunisia, most of North Africa is Arab. However, the language of Tunisian Arabic has some of its own unique features. It is closely related to Algerian Arabic and Libyan Arabic, therefore these dialects are referred to as Maghrebi Arabic. The Maghreb is the region of North Africa of which Tunisia is a part. The language of Maltese, spoken on the island of Malta, is similar to Tunisian Arabic as well. Most Tunisians identify as Arab or Arab-Berber. This is because there has been significant intermixing between these two groups, so their differences may not be immediately transparent. Other groups have had an influence on this main ethnic group of Tunisia, including the Turks, who ruled over Tunisia in the Ottoman Empire, and Andalusians, which refers to the Muslims who once lived in southern Spain. Because the Mediterranean allows for easy travel between North Africa, Europe, and the Middle East, there is significant influence on Tunisian culture from all of these regions. In fact, some have suggested that the peoples of the Mediterranean are all part of a common Mediterranean culture. The Arab Ethnic Group of Tunisia Now, many nations around the Mediterranean contain multiple ethnic groups within their borders, a result of millennia of international trade, conquest, and travel. Tunisia is something of an exception here. Perhaps because it is a smaller nation, the Tunisian people self-identify almost exclusively as belonging to a single ethnic group: Arab. In fact, about 98% of Tunisians claim to be of Arab decent. This makes sense, considering the fact that Tunisia has been the center of Arabic trading routes across the Mediterranean for centuries. There is a tiny minority of Tunisians, less than a single percent, that still identify as being purely Berber. Minority Ethnic Groups in Tunisia 98% of Tunisians self-identify as Arab. So, what about the other 2%? These aren't exactly substantial ethnic populations, but they do exist. About 1% of minorities in Tunisia are of European decent. |
Flanker:Your exclamation about Wikipedia is embarrassing. We both know you are not capable of producing a fountain of knowledge like Wikipedia but you are rubbishing it. That's a big shame. The second site combined the 2 groups so it proves my point of Arabs colonialist. Not only did the Arabs colonize your people, their language dominates yours. HitlerWasRight:Oga, you don't need to lie to pass your message along. Olaf Scholz is no jew Scholz's family is traditionally Lutheran, and he was baptized in the Protestant Church in Germany. He holds largely secular political views, and left the Church in adulthood, but has emphasized a need for appreciation of Germany's Christian heritage and culture. |
Extracts from Oren's YouTube video. The Jews never stole any land from the Arabs. How do I dare say that when there is so much talk about the Jews stealing land from the Palestinians? Well, let’s dive straight into it. If you walked into a police station in London, Berlin, or Wisconsin and said: “My neighbor stole from me,” the policeman would probably say: “OK, what did he steal and when?” In this video, we are going to follow this very basic logic. I am asking you one very simple question: give me the name of a single Jewish settlement that was built on stolen Arab land before the Arabs said no to the partition plan (aka the two-state solution) and started a war to eradicate the Jews in 1947. What I am saying is very straightforward: all of the Jewish settlements were built on land that the Jews bought. If you think I’m wrong, then please provide me with some proof. Give me one example of an Arab who owned a piece of land during the time of the Ottoman Empire, until 1917, or under the British Mandate, until 1948, and then had his land taken away from him by the Jews. For those of you who need a quick history lesson, at the time of the Ottoman Empire, from the 16th century to the beginning of the 20th century, there were no countries in the Middle East. During that time, there were no borders either, and people moved around the territory for various economic, religious, and political reasons. There were drastic changes in the land of Israel during the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century. Here are the main ones: in 1831, an Egyptian ruler called Muhammad Ali of Egypt conquered the land of Israel, and as a result, thousands of Egyptians migrated to the area. The European powers saw that the Ottoman Empire was weak and bought up land to build institutions to gain influence in the region. If you visit Jerusalem, you will see institutions built by the French, Russians, Austrians, Germans, and Italians. There was a religious group of Germans called the Templars who immigrated to Israel and built a few villages. They thought that by doing so they would expedite the second coming of Jesus. The Ottomans built the Hegaz railway and brought over thousands of Egyptians to work in the land of Israel. One of the most popular last names of the Arabs in Gaza and in Israel is Masri, or Masarwa, which means Egyptian. There were groups of people like the Circassians and Armenians who fled wars in Russia and Turkey, and there were the Jews who came to Israel as they saw it as their homeland. In other words, thousands of people moved there for various reasons. And what about the Palestinians? Why haven’t I mentioned them? Well, they didn’t exist in the 19th century. That is not my opinion. That is a basic fact. If you think that I am wrong, then please prove me wrong. Show me a single letter, book, or journal of a pilgrim in which someone writes that he met a Palestinian. The Arabs of the land of Israel only started to see themselves as Palestinians in the 1960s. The Jews, like the Germans, Russians, and Arabs, bought land. And not only that, the Jews bought the worst parts: the desert land and the swamp land. Even though they mostly came from countries where they were not allowed to own land, the Jews achieved the impossible, turning the swamp lands into gold and making the desert bloom. We are very proud of this. Israel is a leading power in water management, irrigation, and agriculture, and it all started with the Jews overcoming the challenges posed by the land. Back to my original point: the Arabs were against the Jews, not because they stole their land, but because they didn't. Even if you follow quotes from Arab leaders in 1948, they are not complaining about Jews stealing land. Amin al-Husseini, the leader of the Arabs in Palestine, said, “The Arabs would not be content with preventing partition but would continue fighting until the Zionists were annihilated and the whole of Palestine became a purely Arab state.” The issue from 1947 until today is the existence of Jews in the land of Israel and their independence. Iran, Hezbollah, and Hamas state this very clearly. The Hamas constitution doesn't say they want 70% of the land; it says, "Israel will exist until Islam wipes it out," and the vast majority of Palestinians support that point of view. A few days before I published this video, I put out a short video on TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube Shorts saying that the Jews never stole any land. I asked people to give me the name of a single Jewish settlement built on stolen Arab land. By the way, please do follow me on TikTok and Instagram. I got about half a million views and zero relevant answers from pro-Palestinians. The most-liked comment from the pro-Palestinian side says: “White guy in the Middle East saying land was never stolen.” First, it shows just how racist the pro-Palestinians—the left and the Muslims—are. Commenting on my skin color rather than what I say makes you a racist. If a Jew with dark or black skin said the same thing, would that make a difference? Most Jews living in Israel today and a hundred years ago were Jews from Arab countries. Many of them fled Muslim countries due to persecution, leaving all their property behind, which was then stolen by Egypt, Iraq, Syria, and others. Another comment I get from pro-Palestinians is that what I'm saying doesn't justify the genocide in Gaza. This is a poor argument. First, don't put words in my mouth: I never said that genocide is justified. Many minorities, including Jews, Hindus, and Christians, have suffered genocide at the hands of Muslims from Pakistan to Greece. I am happy to make videos about Gaza, genocide, apartheid, and the West Bank, and I’ve talked about many of these topics in previous videos. But don't switch topics because you don’t have anything smart to say. Admit the simple fact: the Jews never stole any land from the Arabs. The Palestinians only lost land after they started a war to eradicate the Jews. Losing land in a war you started doesn't make you a victim. Ask the Germans: they started an unjust war, lost 25% of their land, but don't see themselves as victims because they know they were in the wrong. Who stole land? The Arabs stole land from the Jews. Let me give you a few examples. In 1888, Jews bought land in the southern Golan Heights. The village was called Bnei Yehuda. In 1920, local Arabs killed members of the last Jewish family there and took over the land. In 1929, the Arabs attacked Jews in Gaza—yes, there is a long history of Jews in Gaza. The British evacuated the Jews from Gaza and the Arabs took their property. The same happened in Hebron: local Arabs stole Jewish property and murdered dozens of Jews in horrific ways. In 1882, Jews from Yemen migrated to Israel because of persecution and because Israel is the homeland of the Jews. Jews from Yemen are not European; they have dark skin and black hair. They bought land in Kfar HaShiloach, today known as Silwan. In the Arab Revolt of 1938, the last Jew was murdered while trying to save a Torah scroll from the synagogue, and the local Arabs took over the property. I've given you four examples of Arabs stealing Jewish land. Now, can you find one case of Jews stealing land? If you are a student at Columbia University or any other university, go to your professors and tell them that a Zionist Jew claims Arabs stole land from Jews, and you can't find any Jewish theft of Arab land before the 1948 war. Search, find, and leave a comment—I won’t delete it. I believe in freedom of speech and open discussions. Prove me wrong or admit that the Jews never stole land from the Arabs. achorladey:Swap wives? How? |
So I just did a research on divorce, and it turns out that they have just about the same divorce rate as other religions. The USA keeps such stats. Below is a pew research https://www.pewresearch.org/religious-landscape-study/database/marital-status/ |
OnknownSoldier:I have debated and argued with them for years now on Nairaland but I must say, you are mostly right. They are one of the most civil (Not their Nairaland online soldiers) They engage in missionary work but then, different organizations have their different methods. They are one of the few christian organizations that don't emphasize on money. They study the bible and their doctrines and are better informed than most Christians As for the divorce rate, we don't have great statistics in Nigeria so I will do some research and post on the topic. |
Flanker:I am not here for your personal opinion. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Demographics_of_Algeria Please learn. For Algeria, Arabs (73.6%) Berbers (23.2%) Arabized Berbers (3%) Others (0.2% Algerian Arabic and Berber are the native languages of over 99% of Algerians, with Algerian Arabic spoken by about 90% and Berber by 10%. |
ijebosb:You called Brown vs board of education your role model and you accuse me of not knowing it? Anyway, I thank goodness, I made you do some reading tonight. But then, how does brown vs board of education relate to anything we discussed today? You keep showing how unintelligent you are. |
ijebosb:Wow, are you this ignorant ![]() Brown v. Board is your role model. Just wow. Again none of your criticisms of Sowell is related to his academic work but about his wife. How low can you get. You seem to be very skilled at name calling but you don't really have anything else to offer. If you had intelligent points, this conversation will make a lot of sense. But all you seem to be saying is that I am wrong and you are right. Good luck with that kind of reasoning. I wish you well. |
bemeruca:Lool. Epic |
ijebosb:You have a problem with Nigerians not in the US, with white people and even with black intellectuals who don't agree with your narrow narrative. Clearly you are very problematic and miserable. Have fun |
ijebosb:Yes bro, you exposed yourself. And your arguments are inferior at best. Everything you accuse the white man of doing, every other race is guilty of same so where exactly do you stand. I advise you to do more research, educate yourself on the topic and grow. |
ijebosb:Unlike you. I have no ancient grievance so I am not fighting the Fulani. I have moved on and my advice to you is to move on. Also you are the one who needs to read. I recommend you read Thomas Sowell, and the works of Clearance Thomas. You clearly have not read many books. Lastly, you don't seem comfortable with me a Nigerian on an American thread. Is it not funny that you accuse the whites of racism but you want to exclude a fellow black from the discuss. Shame. |
bemeruca:I have met many leftist but this one is not very bright. |
ijebosb:Well. I am a Nigerian, and we don't have republicans or democrats in Nigeria. But it's funny how you always resort to name calling instead of giving your counter arguments. It guess it's because you really have no intelligent argument. Again, how come you are not fighting the Fulani colonialists. They came in to the area known as Nigeria about 500 years ago and took over lands and kingdoms. Should we expell the Fulani from the north including Kwara which is Yoruba land? You should be fighting for the dethroning of all Emirs. But you choose to travel thousands of miles to fight another man's war. Charity begins at home. |
bemeruca:You are so right |
ijebosb:You race baiters are just impossible. The land of Palestine used to be colonized by Arabs who had black slaves and in fact, the word for black man in Arabic is translated to slave. But some how, it's the white man that is always wrong. In a fight between whites and Arabs, why should I suppose the Arab for the simple fact that he is less white. Now let's talk about slavery since you love that topic. Slavery did not begin with white people but it was ended by white people. Do you know when the Arabs ended slavery? The 1960s. And it was only because the whites forced them to. Again do you know that Egypt, Morocco, Tunisia, Algeria, Syria, Lebanon, and even Iraq were never Arabian land? These are places stolen and colonized by the Arabs. Today, the native people and their languages are going extinct. The language Aramaic is a good example of this. Chimamanda spoke about the danger of a single story and you have fallen into that trap. In your single story, the white man is the villain. To you, Arabic slavery, racism and colonialism never happened. To you, the white man's effort that led to the abolishment of slavery never happened. I think it is a shame. |
ijebosb:I think you should give more time to expressing your thoughts and ideas than profiling others based on their opinions. And please do away with this slave mentality. You were never a slave, there are millions of ways of expressing yourself without going to slavery. How come that's the only way you can express yourself. |
ijebosb:Sir, I have been to Israel as a Christian, and I have also been to the neighboring country Egypt. Christians are treated far better in Israel than in any of the other middle eastern countries. In fact, in Syria, the percentage of Christians reduced from 10% to about 2% in less than 12 years. In my visit to Israel, it was a Jewish guide that led me through the various communities in the new testament. They were extremely respectful of my beliefs. I never for once felt threatened. |
ijebosb:When I see blacks calling others slaves for not accepting their opinion I shake my head. When would you guys stop seeing yourselves and other blacks in in context of slaves. You were not the only enslaved people in history please move on. |
ayoolataiwo:If Israel stops this war right now, can you guarantee that Hamas with never attack again? |
olatade:Childish talk. How does the land of Israel belong to Hamas |
olatade:You don't need people's love when you are protecting your children and family. |
yarimo:A people are celebrating an end to flooding and are welcoming good governance. |
Khalling2007:This boy. Your only purpose here is to insult others. You call people slave to the Jews when it's you who is clearly a Hamas slave. You are a slave to tunnel rats, what does that make you. ![]() |
