You are giving me the platform to educate and I am grateful. I would not reply your insults but use it to teach many lost souls like yours.

Now here is more
The average Nigerian consumes 7.15 kg of meat each year. The average Gazan gets 22kg of meat each year. Three times more.
This is a country that they claim is facing the worst genocide ever.
Nigerians cry for yourselves. No one from Gaza would exchange his place fro a place in your country.

So everyone can learn from a headless dumbo chicken running around screaming high GDP and HDI ensures genocide cannot happen. What a clown grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin
So Gaza and Egypt have very similar HDI. HDI means Human Development index.
The Human Development Index (HDI) is a statistical tool used to measure a country's overall achievement in its social and economic dimensions.
Now for a country you claim is facing a genocide, has better education and health institutions than most African countries. Please anyone in camp genocide how does this make sense.

I actually saw someone on NL writing the other day that the reason Nigeria couldn't beat Equatorial Guinea was because God is punishing us for not voting Peter Obi.
You guys are getting caught up in nonsense and over emotional sentiment and it is damaging your brand.
Forget the emotional sentiment the damage you should concern yourself with is the total destruction of the Nigerian economy. If you like, keep fighting your fellow Nigerian when your real problem is your evil gov.

Any human being with half a brain knowns that Israel is only protecting itself from terrorists.
Any human who can reason knowns that there is no genocide taking place.
Life expectancy in Gaza is 76 years. If the average Gazan is living up to 76 years pls explain how that is a genocide.
Mind you, life expectancy in Nigeria is 53 years.

The major obstacle to peace remain IRAN and Iran is having issues with Israel because of USA
This idea of blaming Christians is very unfair. Europe is mostly non religious. Stop viewing the crisis through the len of religion.
Western Europe and the US are basically the richest countries on earth. The Muslim world on the other hand is struggling so I don't see any reason why Europe would want to disability

No country in Africa have natural resources like China. China is one of the country with the largest deposit of natural resources. Countries that have natural resources than china can't be more than 6-7.

China have oil and produce more oil than Nigeria. China produce more than 4.5m bpd, while Nigeria produce less than 1.7m bpd.
Africa has 30% of the world's natural resources and 65% of the world's uncultivated arable land. China has a lot but no continent comes close to Africa when we talk about natural resources.
Also note, Nigeria may produce less oil than china but we have a far bigger oil reserve. This means that we have more oil in the ground than China.

Then let's go to the Kurds. Yes, you don't know who they are but I will teach you.
They are also Muslim. They are one of the most persecuted people on earth yet no one talks about the kurd genocide on Nairaland.

The only reason people like you talk about Palestine genocide is because Israel is involved.

Don't you consider yourself a hypocrite?

Gaza has a growth rate of 1.99%, the 39th-highest in the world. Israel is doing an abysmal job.

Petrallen:
Where did you get the idea of Christianity persecuting the Jews for close to 2000 years? Even some Jewish scholars will just laugh at what you said - for this presumes that Christianity began a wholesale persecution of the Jews the moment it was born.
What many of you keep forgetting is that the first Christians were Jews (and Jewish Christians exist till date).
It was the non-Christian Jews that started the persecution of Christians. Christianity was being persecuted by both the Jews and the Roman empire.
Christianity was a banned religion in Rome for the first 3 centuries - so where did you get the notion that Christians have always been persecuting the Jews?
The first recorded instance of the Jews being persecuted in the name of Christianity (which is not even universal) was during the Middle Ages - which by the way also targeted even some Christians.

Stop making it look as though the Jews have always been that innocent kid that Christianity have always been persecuting. The Jews (the non-believing ones) started the persecution of Christianity and this persecution continues in some forms till date (which is only rampant among few radical Jews)
You are right the Christian persecution of the Jews is less than 2000 years. But now let's take an in-depth look at the European Christian persecution of the Jews or Antisemitism in Europe.

Persecutions against Jews were widespread during the Crusades, beginning in 1095, when a number of communities, especially in France and the Rhineland, were massacred.

On many occasions, Jews were accused of the ritual murder of Christian children in what were called blood libels. The first known blood libel was the story of William of Norwich, whose murder sparked accusations of ritual murder and torture by the local Jews.

The Black Death which devastated Europe in the 14th century also gave rise to widespread persecution. In the face of the terrifying spread of the plague, the Jews served as scapegoats and were accused of poisoning the wells. As a result, many Jewish communities in western and central Europe were destroyed in a wave of violence between 1348 and 1350. For example, some two thousand Jews were massacred by burning in Strasbourg, in February 1349, upon a decision by the city council, before the plague had reached the city. In the German states a total of approximately 300 Jewish communities were destroyed during this period, because of Jews being killed or driven out.

In the later Middle Ages, Jews were expelled from smaller and larger regions across western Europe as well as the German lands, including monarchy-wide expulsions from England, in 1290, and France, in 1306 and 1394. The greatest expulsions of Jews were in Spain (1492) and Portugal (1496), where Jews were ordered to convert to Christianity, or to leave the country within six or eleven months, respectively.

Their residence in cities was often limited to specific areas known as ghettos. Following the Fourth Lateran Council, in 1215, Jews were also ordered to wear distinctive clothing, in some instances a circular badge. Some Jews managed to evade the humiliating requirement of wearing a badge by bribing the local authorities

In western Europe, Jews were largely limited by local monarchs, especially as a consequence of the growing fear of competition with the local merchants due to the fact that the main occupation of Jews was commerce and banking. Notable examples are the limitation of the number of Jews allowed to settle in Breslau issued by Frederick II of Prussia in 1744 and the banishment of Jews from Bohemia by the archduchess of Austria Maria Theresa, who later also stated that Jews had to pay for remaining in the country

In order to restrict the Jews from spreading throughout the Russian Empire and to protect Russian merchants from competition, the Pale of Settlement was established in 1772 by the empress of Russia Catherine II, restricting Jews to the western parts of the empire with the exception of a number of Jews who received permission to live in major cities, such as Kiev and Moscow.

By the end of the 19th century a new type of antisemitism had begun to develop in Europe, racial antisemitism. It started as a part of a broader racist world view and belief of superiority of the "white race" over other "races", while existing prejudice was supported by pseudo-scientific theories such as Social Darwinism.

The main idea of racial antisemitism, as presented by racial theorists such as Joseph Arthur de Gobineau, is that the Jews are a distinct and inferior race compared to the European nations. The emphasis was on the non-European origin and culture of the Jews, meaning they were beyond redemption even if they converted to Christianity. This modern antisemitism emphasized hatred of the Jews as a race and not only due to their Jewish religion.

Another example of modern antisemitism in Europe was the conspiracy theory of Jewish world economic domination, as presented in the hoax The Protocols of the Elders of Zion which was first published in Russia in 1903 and became known outside Russia after the Russian Revolution of 1917. This theory was strengthened by the leading part Jews like the Rothschild family played in the European banking system.

The pogroms in 1881 and after the first Russian Revolution of 1905 cost thousands of Jewish lives and more than a million migrated to America. The second Russian revolution and the civil war that came afterwards sparked a new wave of pogroms against the Jews as nationalist militias and regular armies fought over the control of the country. The casualties from the pogroms were estimated in tens of thousands dead.

As you can see, I was trying to be brief, and thanks for the correction. I guess we both have learnt something today

Let me start from 5. the fact that you take the same words as insults speaks volume as to how one should not take you seriously

On 4. I have just stated facts. In your little world, the pictures and video evidence of bombings in refugee camps and hospitals and the bloodied faces of innocent children are fabricated,. For this I will insult you for once. You are despicable.

on 3, healthy eating and non red meat consumption does not increase life expectancy. Ask your parents to seek refunds from the schools you attended if you did.

On 2. You seem very ignorant of the economy of Palestine. Let me paste you an extract from a report of one of the western media houses supporting Israel
"A complex web of checkpoints and roadblocks make it difficult for Palestinians to travel within the Palestinian Territories for jobs, to bank or to trade. Farmers whose land is now behind the barrier are required to apply for 'visitor permits' which Israel regularly rejects - in Akkaba it approved 49% of applications in 2011, and just 20% by 2012. More recently, a report from the World Bank found that Israeli restrictions in the West Bank alone cost the Palestinian economy $3.4bn (£2.1bn) a year, or 35% of its GDP."

Israel's reach in the Palestinian Territories means it can exert enormous power over Palestinian livelihoods. Oxfam estimates that 800,000 olive trees have been uprooted by Israeli authorities since 1967. As a result, the 80,000 Palestinian families that the UN claims are economically reliant on the olive harvest lose $12.3m each year To show the impact of this, Visualizing Palestine showed what an area with one thirty-third the amount of trees - Central Park - would look like if it were destroyed

Anyway you will deny this report as well so there is actually no point.

Finally on 1. Why do you speak from 2 sides of your mouth. You said earlier that Israel has never been found guilty by the ICJ.

My friend go and rest, I still maintain that you make zero sense.
1. I said Israel has never been found guilty of genocide. If this is your example of genocide then I don't know what to tell you.

2. Both Gaza and the West bank have better GDPs and development index than a good number of African countries. No one is denying that Israel has to restrict their movement but it is only wise and well deserved. Israel has a right to protect itself from terrorists. Also Israel is one of the biggest providers of aid to Gaza. Please do your research. Israel gives much more than the olive trees you mentioned. Again, you refuse to answer the basics question, how does Gaza have better dev index than a number of peaceful African nations?
Forget GDP and let's talk dev index.
For example, infant mortality is much lower than Nigeria.
Again, are you not being a tiny bit dishonest, you never mentioned Gaza's corrupt gov as one of the problems. It's all Israel's fault.
You also forgot to mention that Gaza gets water, electricity, medical care, jobs and lot more at little or no cost from Israel.

3. Nigeria and Burundi eat much less red meat than Gaza yet they don't live as long. There is also a drug epidemic in Gaza. So you are obviously confused.

4. Can you also explain how countqries in Africa have higher poverty rates than the people of Gaza suffering a genocide? Israel is very incompetent at this genocide game

It was evangelicals in Europe that first mooted the idea of a homeland for Jews believing it to be a biblical call even before Theodore Herzl began Zionism.
The purpose of Israel among Jews is different from those of Christians
Jews through Zionism wants to create a homeland for the Jews and Israel being a historical significance to Jews became the natural choice....the problem is the land is not uninhabited and the local population including some Jews never resisted the settlers it was the settlers who began displacing those the met on ground. And since they have Europe (who was too glad to finally get rid of jews) backing them with cash and weapons it was a matter of time before Zionists proclaimed the creation of Israel.

Christians on the other hand view creation of Israel as a necessary step towards the coming back of. Christ .

A personal belief here

Jews would have settled with Arabs long ago....but Christianity is not allowing that because it will be seen as a defeat of Christianity

A personal opinion
Hope you know that Christian Europe treated the Jews very badly. They killed and persecuted the Jews for close to 2000 years cumulating in Hitler's pogrom.
So the Christian Jewish narrative can't be right.
Finally, it was not the settlers who displaced the Palestinians but the other way round. Please can you name the Palestine villages that were displaced by the Jews before 1947?
If you do this, I would give you the list of Jewish communities displaced by the Arabs before that date.

The main reason is an oxymoron called Christian Zionism.
Evangelicals in America believe supporting Israel is a biblical mandate. The belief is that if Christ is coming back it will be to the land of the Jews ie Israel.
Israel has to exist for Christ to come back

Everyone disregards UN resolution because of US hypocrisy.
First only 46 percentage of Americans are members of a Church or synagogue so it doesn't add up. Also a much less percentage actually attain church.
Secondly, between 1948 to 1967, the US was Neutral. There was an arm embargo against Israel. In the 1948 battle, most of Israel's arms came from Czechoslovakia.
Note, at this time, there was a much larger christian percentage in the US.
The first time the US supported Israel in war was in 1973. And this happened because of the cold war. The Soviet union was on the side of Egypt.
Let's stop the lazy blame on Christianity.

That's why it was called the British mandate for Palestine. The predecessor to UN, the league of nations gave it to the British and Syria and other parts to France .
Lord Balfour declaration is seen in some quarters as an anti semitic act because it was a solution to the Jewish problems of Europe....
First, there was nothing like the UN at the time of the British mandate. (1918-1948). The Britain conquered Palestine at the end of 1917
Don't worry let me send you some links.

The United Nations took up the question of Palestine in February 1947, on the request of Great Britain, the Mandatory Power which had governed Palestine since 1917, first as an occupying Power and then under a mandate from the League of Nations in 1922.

I agree with some of what you said but you got the facts wrong at the end. The UN did not give the land to the British, it was the British that handed over the land to the UN. The British took the land from the Ottoman Empire after WW1.
The UN then decided to create 2 nations out of the land but the Arabs went to war.

1. July 9, 2004-International Court of Justice finds Israeli barrier in Palestinian territory is illegal. Although this might not be a binding ruling, it was a great victory for those with a sense of humanity in them.

2. Your bringing up GDP comparisons of a people who are 80% dependent on foreign aid with one of the highest unemployment rates in the world, under occupation and under sub-human conditions is out of context, childish and entirely unintelligent.

3. If life expectancy with the blockade is 75+yrs, it means it would be 100yrs+ without blockade. Life expectancy is hig due to the fact that Palestinians have mostly a veggie diet, no illicit drugs and alcohol due to the conditions they live under.

4. You are no different from the minority who attempt to negate, deny and distort the established facts of the Nazi genocide of European Jews. Same thing you are doing now. History books in the near future will tell the stories of this group which you happen to fall under.

5. You cannot make sense to me because you actually make zero sense.
1. Just said it was not a binding rule and mind you, Israel has never been found guilty of genocide but the courts. If you are Israel why would you abide by a nonbinding rule?

2. No you are the child here. If 80 percent of Palestinians depend on aid and their GDP is better than many other countries then you should hold their gov responsible. I guess you don't understand how GDP works. They have become reliant on aid and their gov has become increasingly irresponsible. What do you say about a gov that converts water pipes to bombs?

3. Now this is even laughable. There is no evidence that the life expectancy of vegetarians is anything close to 100 years. Meanwhile, Nigeria has one of the lowest meat consumption rates and still one of the lowest life expectancy. Same with Burundi. Again, if you are educated enough to research, you will discover that Gaza has a meat consumption that is almost 4 times that of Nigeria. Please learn to research and stop embarrassing yourself. If Israel is committing genocide, they are very, very, very bad at it.
Also, no matter how much veggies you eat, if someone was actively shooting at you, you would die before the age of 76. Veggies are not bulletproof. Please research, Gaza has very high rates of smoking and drug use. It's a very big market for tramadol. Learn to research grin grin grin grin grin

4 & 5. That's you taking it personally because I disagree with you. I have been the one pulling out facts and evidence but you only keep insulting. What do you think the life expectancy was for Holocaust Jews? Do you think it was 76 years? I am still waiting for your first evidence of genocide.

Before Oct 7th, life in Gaza was much better than in Burundi or Niger, Yet people like you keep giving false narratives.

If there was a genocide, how come life expectancy in Gaza is 75.7 years? many times more than the African average. Israel must be really bad at this genocide thing or don't you think so? The people of Gaza are living longer than most people on Earth yet they are an endangered Species.
Haba, this cant make sense to even you

Do they know the Kurds? Nobody does. They have been persecuted more than anybody in the middle East

I got to know them when the west was fighting to uproot Isil in Iraq. A resolute group of people who have seen persecution and War through the years but don't Whyne like the Palestinians
Why are Muslims and Arabs not talking about them? Why is Nairaland silent?

Foreign Affairs › Why Israel Is Guity Of Breaking UN Reolutions by tctrills(op): 1:42pm On Jan 17, 2024
Every UN resolution boils down to a vote. Its politics.
There are 1.8 billion Muslims and 49 majority-Muslim countries. On the other hand, there is just one majority Jewish state and only 16 million Jews in the world.

These Muslim nations' influence easily overpowered that of Israel.
In 2020, the Economy of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation which consists of 57 member states had a combined GDP(PPP) of US$ 24 trillion which is equal to about 18% of the world's GDP or US$ 30 trillion with 5 OIC observer states which is equal to about 22% of the world's GDP.
It is impossible to ignore this influence when considering how the UN votes. Even if you are not a Muslim country, you wouldn't want to be an enemy with a 30 trillion GDP.
I opened this thread to educate my friend Firstcitizen and others who have argued this with me in the recent past.
Foreign Affairs › Everyone Is Talking About The Palestinians But Not The Kurds by tctrills(op): 1:17pm On Jan 17, 2024
The Kurds are the most victimized people in the Middle East. Genocidal attacks have been committed against them by Syria, Iraq, and Turkey. The worst chemical attack in history was carried out against them, yet the UN and international community find it convenient to ignore their suffering.
Also, the pro-Hamas wing of Nairaland never discusses this. Is it because the Jews are not involved here?
The hypocrisy here is simply legendary. Just so you know, these are also Muslims but so long they are being persecuted by their fellow Muslims, it is ok.
I can bet that this is the first thread on Nairaland dedicated to their plight.
