Why is negativity the life of the average Nairalander?

Would it have been better if it was tariffed?
You don't get it, it's more noise and politics than business and growth.

Before now, Mineral Fuels & Oils (Crude & Gas) made up 82.3% and the tariff was 0%
So we can say that really, Notting happened.

The remaining 18% of our exports were tariffed at about 5%.

So very little changes.

Also our entire export to china was just over 2 billion dollars nothing significant in global terms.

Let's not throw a party for no Reason.

Trump simply handed the crown 👑 to China.

Years from now, Americans would be spitting on his grave.
This really doesn't mean much. Nigeria would not gain much from this. Our major exports to China are raw materials. Again, Nigerian imports and exports don't have much impact on the global stage. Little or nothing will change

If you have not seen in the long lists I provided enough evidence of the Trump administration's efforts to erase and water down black heroes, black history and the history of discrimination against blacks in America, I have nothing else to add.

What I have put up there is sufficient for both posterity and all honest passersby.

Indeed you are the one being bizarre by attempting to deny policies that the administration is open about.
Oga I know you are very smart so no need to act dumb, you did not provide one example of anything trump has eradicated.
Here are extracts from your article.

Removal and Alteration of Public Exhibits (National Parks & Museums):
Not one example given to show if this constitutes removal of black history or if this is just noise.

The "Scourged Back"
This maybe the best example you have but again removing this from public parks is not same as deleting black history. We can't have every artist work on public parks so it's up to each admin to determine and make a preference.

Richmond National Battlefield Scrutiny
This is maybe the dumbest of all. According to your copy and paste, the center was flagged for review because it contained "negative" information about America’s racial past.
I mean, that a reasonable thing to do.

Let's do one more
Ending Radical Indoctrination in K-12 Schooling" (Jan 29, 2025):
Please explain how this deletes black history.

Do you see why I am not taking you serious?

One more thing, I am not asking you to go online and find articles written against Trump, because there are millions. I am asking you to answer the questions I put to you. Yes, use as many anti trump article as you wish but at least, let them directly attempt the questions.

If there was a museum or artwork that the Trump administration destroyed, I am sure it would be on the internet.

If there was a fact in black history that has been deleted from school curriculum, I am sure you will find it online.

I am only asking you to produce what you claim. That should be easy enough.

You don't even need a long article for this just 2 to 3 sentences is all you need if you have anything to show.

In the second Trump administration (2025–present), efforts to reshape the national narrative regarding Black history and slavery have intensified through executive orders, federal agency directives, and budget reallocations.

Below are exhaustive examples and links detailing these actions, categorized by their impact on public history, education, and federal institutions.

1. Removal and Alteration of Public Exhibits (National Parks & Museums): The administration has used the "Restoring Truth and Sanity to American History" Executive Order (issued March 27, 2025) to audit and remove content deemed "disparaging" to the United States.

2. Mention any detail about black history that used to be taught in schools but has been removed.

Sometimes one can only shake one's head at the confidence with which you make some utterances. The effort to erase black historical contribution as well as the effects of slavery, segregation and racism has been massive. It is crazy that anyone can claim to be unaware of it. That is why Ijebos asked if you were living in a black hole.

Anyway, I extract the following. There is much much more, but for starters -

-----------------
Since the start of the second Trump administration in January 2025, there has been a significant shift in how the federal government handles the presentation of Black history, slavery, and diversity initiatives.

Critics and historians describe these actions as an effort to "erase" or "sanitize" difficult aspects of American history, while the administration frames them as a move toward "colorblind" meritocracy and "Restoring Truth and Sanity" to the national narrative.

Below is a breakdown of these efforts, categorized by the specific mechanisms used.

1. Executive Orders Targeting "Ideology" in History
The administration has utilized executive orders to directly intervene in how history is taught and memorialized at the federal level.

EO "Restoring Truth and Sanity to American History" (March 27, 2025): This order targets what it describes as a "distorted narrative driven by ideology." It specifically directs the Interior Department to reinstate or remove historical materials at National Park sites to ensure they do not "inappropriately minimize" certain aspects of history or promote "false reconstructions."

EO "Ending Radical Indoctrination in K-12 Schooling" (Jan 29, 2025): This order threatens to withhold federal funding from schools that teach "discriminatory equity ideology." It defines this as any curriculum suggesting that individuals are inherently oppressive or bear responsibility for past actions of their race (often targeting the teaching of systemic racism).

Abolishing the Department of Education: The administration has moved to close the federal Department of Education, aiming to return all curricular authority to the states. Critics argue this will allow states to remove Black history requirements without federal oversight or civil rights enforcement.

2. Removal of Historical Displays and Memorials
Several high-profile instances of physical and digital history removal have occurred under these new mandates:

Fort Pulaski "Scarred Back" Removal (Sept 2025): The famous 1863 photograph of "Gordon," a man who escaped slavery with severe whipping scars, was removed from a National Monument display in Georgia to comply with the "Restoring Truth" order.

The President's House Enslaved People Exhibit (Feb 2026): The administration attempted to remove biographical panels about nine people enslaved by George Washington at the Philadelphia memorial. This was temporarily blocked by a court order.

Pentagon & Federal Web Purges: In early 2025, the Pentagon marked thousands of pages for deletion. This included a page on Jackie Robinson, which was only restored after a massive public outcry.

Removal of Black Lives Matter Plaza: The administration oversaw the removal of the Black Lives Matter street mural and signage in Washington, D.C.

3. Funding Cuts for Black Institutions and Programs
The administration has shifted federal financial priorities away from institutions dedicated to African American advancement.

Defunding Minority-Serving Institutions (MSIs): In late 2025, the Department of Education halted both discretionary and mandatory funding for MSIs, citing a DOJ opinion that race-based funding is "unconstitutional."

HBCU Scrutiny: While the administration claims to support "excellence" at Historically Black Colleges and Universities, it has simultaneously rolled back DEI initiatives and reduced specific Dept. of Education grants that supported these schools' unique missions.

Head Start Restrictions: Federal guidance issued in 2025 banned the use of federal funds for any training or materials that promote "Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion," impacting early childhood programs that serve many Black families.

4. International Revisionism
UN Vote Against Condemning Slavery (March 2026): The U.S. was one of only three nations to vote against a United Nations resolution that called the transatlantic slave trade a "crime against humanity" and supported reparations. The administration argued the resolution was part of a "far-left" effort to divide nations.

Don't worry, I know you will dismiss everything above as nothing. Standard.

There are many many more examples, such as the crackdown on Critical Race Theory, the removal of black soldiers of honor from Department of Defense records, and even things as petty as removing pictures of black heroes from the white house.

But as I said, you will deny everything with a wave of your hand and even call me a liar and "wicked."

That was not me. That was what I have been asking you to read. It was written by GloriousGbola.

I hope you learnt a thing or two.

The history of slavery is deep in the USA and it still lives in many forms, it became Jim Crowe, It became segregation, it became many things and today it lives as institutional racism which you have denied exists. You know nothing.

The present administration in the US is trying hard to erase the history and pretend the reality does not exist.
Your last paragraph is just dishonest and wicked.
I advise you to be intellectually honest or at least spend a minute or two to study before speaking.

First, point to your evidence that the present administration is doing anything to erase the history of slavery. You just made a very big claim, if you are a responsible person, you will now back it up with real evidence.

Again, the entire premise of your argument is false and I reject it for the following reasons.

1. The US has done more than any other nation to tell it's slavery history.
More books have been written, more movies made and more information is out there about the US slavery than any other country that had legalized slavery in the nineteenth century.

2. Brazil had far more slaves than the US, please how much do you know about slavery in Brazil?

3. You know so much about the plantations in the south, you can tell everything about the life of a slave Mississippi but what do you know about the life of a slave in the Benin, to or Kano empires?

4. Not only did the Arabs/ eastern world have more black slaves than the West, the west kept a better history of it's slaves than the Arabs.

5. It seems that the only people not hiding their history of slavery is the United States.

One last thing, you spoke about institutional racism. Please can you mention 2 institutions in US to 2026 that promote racism towards the blacks.

Let's learn to be intellectually honest my brother.

"Erase enough history and people can be deceived that slavery was a choice.

As an uninformed black man in Africa, one would find it hard to believe that America deliberately flooded housing projects with drugs or attacked black wall street or lynched young boys or used black men in syphilis studies.

This is the world they want to create where the evil did not happen.

Germany has left monuments to the Holocaust standing so it cannot be denied. But are there any plantations left standing? No. Rather the south has lionised different slave owners as civil war heroes

As an aside I read JT Edson books as a child and even then I could see there was something off about them. Eventually I saw them for what they are apologist books glorifying the south. In one of them a black dude said he was better off as a slave. Then you have stories like the hooded riders which are a naked celebration of the KKK. but a person who had no knowledge of slavery would not see the insidious white washing of the deep south and their practices."
-
The above is all i wanted you to read.
Your point is that because there are no plantations left, the right is deleting history?
This is just finding issues where there are none.
Slavery is taught sufficiently in schools in the US. Just because there are no plantations left, would we now pretend that the history of slavery is being erased.

I truly don't understand what you are complaining about here.

You are fighting for plantations to be brought back because you feel the history of slavery is being forgotten?

Anyway, let's come back home to where the history of slavery is being forgotten.

My great great grand father like many others in his time had slaves, with the exception of Badagry we don't see any monuments. Every town and city in ancient Nigeria practiced slavery, how many monuments are there? I don't see any in Mbise, Egba, Kano, or kogi.

I was never taught about black on black slavery in school. So who is erasing history?

Moral of the story, charity begins at home.

But those US bombs are expensive, America is fighting an expensive war compared to Iran. the Iranian missiles are produced locally but still effective and destructive, and Iranian targets could sink the world economy in 1 or 2 months. Imagine Iran strikes all gas plants in the Gulf, Europe will be in big trouble by winter. The world cannot stand two conflicts, Ukraine and Iran, the global economy will crack and sink . And the resultant economic meltdown, will be different, because no country will bail out another.
Yes, they are expensive but Iran is fighting the more expensive war. This war is affecting the Iranian economy much more than the US economy. Salaries have not been paid for 2 months. The US can afford to continue without becoming a failed state, can Iran do the same?

Maybe Iran can hit the global economy really bad since 20% of petroleum and gas comes from the middle east, but the world would recover from it in 2 to 3 years. The question is, will Iran be able to recover on its own? If they destroy middle east oil production, the US will completely flatten Iranian production and industry and take them back to the middle ages.
Remember, every building that remains standing in Iran right now is doing so because the US permits.
Lastly, this war is putting the US in s very good economic position.
As of today, the US produces more oil than Russia and Saudi Arabia put together.
The also have Venezuela in their pocket (the world's biggest oil fields), they basically control Canadian oil and are a net exporter of energy. So yes, the gulf war could disrupt economy but the US is in a much better place to recover than most.

It means that the price of one kg of cement during Jonathan's regime could buy 48 bags of cement in 1990. That means the price of only 10 bags of cement during Jonathan's era would be enough to buy 480 bags which would complete a 3 bedroom flat in 1990.
Does that mean that every Nigerian owned a house in 1990?
We have more beautiful Mansions now than we have when cement was #10 per bag.
Pray make you no follow them to this come world just to look then die for nothing only criticize Government upon Government.
If cement dey sell for #50 tomorrow no be everybody go build.
You think prayers will fix this mess? So maybe we should blame God not government. I hear you

Landlord wey build house when cement was 1500 will come and be increasing rent.

Baba you built house during Jonathan era

Why you come dey tell me price of rod had increased.

No be the same rod you buy during Jonathan time for very cheap price??

These landlord/landladies are demonic
He needs to increase it oh because he is not buying rice, beans and eggs at the Jonathan price. Even your landlord needs to provide for his family.
