Politics › Re: Chude Media Reveals Oshodi Chairman Who Ordered Attack On Obiflagboy by tctrills: 11:26am On Oct 21, 2022
N3TRAL:
BRT buses parking lot is a very sensitive facility in Lagos.

During the Endsars riots Chinasa burnt a lot of those BRT buses and money invested in them went down the drain. Transportation became difficult for residents after the pure act of jealousy.

Why do you want to advertise "your candidate" with the BRT buses?

Every Nigerian who is up to date knows that the day trouble started in Lagos was that day a rumour monger spread fake news on Twitter that the entire revenue generated from the Lekki Toll Gate and proceeds from the BRT buses went to Tinubu's pocket.

How people who claim to be educated political participants and agents of change believed this falsehood shows the extent hate can becloud a human's brain.

When the destruction of Lagos in October 2020 happened. The first place burnt was the Lekki Toll gate. The second scene of Arson was the BRT Buses garage.

Yesterday they started again at Lekki Toll gate.
After that they went to confront the Chairman to give them access to BRT buses.

Why these 2 facilities?

Please for the Umpteenth time- Tinubu does not own them. They are infrastructure for the collective good of Lagosians.

I stand with the Chairman of Oshodi for protecting public property. Everyone who will not stand and watch arsonists destroy their family property because of no justifiable reason stands with the Chairman.

Thank you Mr Chairman.
See how you have intelligently supported thuggery and violence. Just because you are an APC member, must you support stupidity?

You've said it all.

If we had used the huge money we made in crude oil to develop other aspects like technology, we would have atleast had a viable alternative that would have come in handy when the dependence of oil in the world market have reduced just like we are having now.

But we have been blessed with shortsighted leaders who only sees and thinks about their pockets and that of their generation.
We continue to miss the point. The government is not supposed to build the economy. The economy should be run by private hands. Let the private sector invest in tech, agriculture and other areas. One of our major problems is that our government is always in the way of private industries. To build a university, you need a license from government. To build a refinery, you need a license. Your government needs to cede the economy to private hands.

Well to start with, Christians who celebrate Christmas are doing so ignorantly, as there are obliviously worshiping something they don't know. And remember that worshiping any other thing like "Saturn" is purely ldolatery, and all idol worshippers ll likely have their part in hell. NOTE, Apostle Paul notice this infiltration in the church as he admonished us in Gal. 4:8-11.

Just like saying in the Whitehouse was Buhari and Buhari was with the president and Buhari is a president.

Of course he could be with either Clinton, Trump or Biden. One thing is certain: Buhari is also a president he could be in Whitehouse at a point in time but he's not the ruler of America!
I would agree with you on this. I have often stated it on this platform, God is not a particular person. Its a state

Zanzibar1:
Christians shy away from this questions even though we know its true.
Why do Christians find it hard to help fellow Christians who are in need. They would rather help some one from a different faith than consider you.
i have been in dire need of employment and walked up to an Evangelist who was also a lecturer; i believed he could assist in recommending me for a job. For reasons best known to him, he recommend another person for the job from a different faith and he got it.
Rumor has it that it was a bargain for him to attain higher position. I cant blame him, he put opportunities above faith-attachment

At another time, i had heard of a family who needed some financial assistance...they weren't supported by the church. the response was, ''the church is not a bank or government that will now be assisting you, you should be bringing money to the church and not asking for assistance from it ''.
Why do we find it hard to help
I don't know where you are getting your stats from but just so you know, the biggest religious charities are Christian-owned. The article below would educate you. MaxInDHouse:
You condemn yourselves when you failed to accept any organization as God's people and support the activities for everyone to see that you people truly have a supreme being (GOD) directing you as an organized people.
Jehovah's Witnesses aren't condemning anyone all we are saying is:

If you're not obedient to our leaders you're not worshiping the same God with us, simple.

So embrace yourselves, prove that you worth loving among yourselves let JWs see something worth envying among you because in the absence of that you can never make any sense to Witnesses of JEHOVAH! wink
So we learn in the bible, that a curse follows all those who add to the revelations of God.
God did not reveal that birthdays are sinful hence anyone who declares such in danger of God's curses.

These days we see men who want to take the place of God. They teach for commandments the doctrines of men.

Human wisdom would never lead to eternal truths.
Let me advise you to stick to only what God has revealed. Do not create new sins.
Show some respect to your creator and don't seek to take his place.

So i wonder what you God's people can refer to as wrong since God must write it in the Bible for you to ascertain that it's wrong.

Well we are following the footsteps of our people the WITNESSES {Hebrews 12:1} whose names are mentioned @ Hebrews 11:4-34 because we are also WITNESSES of the same God! wink
Just to show you why it is foolish to assume; There are over 100 reasons why Jesus Christ did not go to Herod's birthday. Below< I would present a few possible reasons.
1. Hw was not invited
2. He had other engagements
3. He did not like Herod
4. Herod was going to kill him
5. He went but it was not recorded
The only truth remains that as Christians, we depend upon the revealed word of God. Do you agree that any doctrine that is not revealed is from the devil? Every single Christian doctrine must be revealed. We live by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.
If God does not call it a sin, then no true Christian would call it a sin.
The days of the week, the months and many things we name and live by came from pagan practice but unless God declares it a sin, no man has such power.
If God has not condemned us, who are you to condemn?
Christianity Etc › Re: My Experience With The Jehovah's Witnesses Organization by tctrills: 1:28pm On Oct 17, 2022

Going by the cultural values of God's people in ancient times birthday celebration is no part of their lives because it came from pagan origin.

Again you assume. There is no record to show that God's people did not celebrate birthdays, weddings, convocations, or any other celebrations.
I keep telling you to depend on the revealed word. If God was against birthdays he would have said so. In true religion, we do not assume or guess. We look to God for revelation.

Convocation is like rejoicing over the success of students graduating not found in the Bible but as for birthdays it is well recorded on two occasions Genesis 40:20; Matthew 14:6 it is clear that this custom belongs to pagans!
And because Jehovah warned His people not to participate in pagan traditions you can never ever find a single servant of God attend a birthday. We imitate their faith as they are our people by faith so that tradition continues! wink
You are right Convocations and birthdays have nothing to do with the teachings of Jesus Christ hence we don't have records of Christ attending them.
On the 2 occasions birthdays were recorded, Jesus Christ was not invited. How do you expect him to attend? Its not even recorded if Jesus Christ attended Herod's party or not but you cant help yourself from assuming.

How about convocation parties, Is that a sin too? Jesus never attended convocation parties.

IntelChief:
My elder sister is around 32 years and still not serious with marriage. Her only focus is on making money and she had been very successful in that aspect. She has a well paying job and is not only comfortable but also supports me financially sometimes.

But I just can't imagine why she is not disturbed about the fact that she is still single at her age. A lot of guys I know had been approaching her but she never accepts even a relationship offer from them, talk more of marriage. (And am very sure that she is not a lesbian or any of that).

As a church guy, I have seen a lot of women stock in this not being married thing and jumping from one church to the other seeking for husbands. Some of them, out of desperation, fall victims in the hands of fake pastors and sharp guys. I really don't want my sister to go through such.

Initially, I wasn't disturbed, but right now, this issue is burning not only me but also my aging mother. My mother had even stylishly urged my sister to go get married on several occasions. But she won't.

What really got me mad was when I was discussing with my sister some days back about her future plans. She told me stuffs like planning on travelling abroad for greener pastures, bla bla bla, but made no mention of marriage.

Honestly guys, I am tired. And as a man in the family, I am thinking of changing it for my sister. Am planning on threatening her that if she doesn't take the issue of marriage serious, I will go physical with her and teach her some lessons. But the issue is that she is my elder sister and I have some respect for her. And my action might end up affecting the bond in the family.
And you believe if you tell her she is getting old, that would get her a husband. I believe your sister is old enough to make her own choices.
