nemesis4u: lol i am shocked that u want top notch capability at 40k
more than 2/3 cost of a UAV is due to the elecronics component
u try Chinese OEMs ?
lol i am kind of sure ur tied up with a chinese company for ur project . maybe i am wrong also Chinese oem. Nope, strictly American and European for any stuff being purchased for the project. We're doing the parts, fuselage etc here so even those engines /machines are Americans/ European. Boeing uses ASC autoclave but a reputable Chinese company will be providing that. Guess that's the only thing from the Chinese we will be using. I just had no idea on how expensive those will be. |

Odunayaw: The yabhon 40 is btwn $20-40m (Not per airframe)
I'd make an educated guess the yabhon 20 is $12-15m $12m for an unarmed UAV? Mq1 is around $4m |

nemesis4u: what is an ISR camera
if u mean EO pod
very difficult to estimate on a generalized basis depends on technology being used , features being offered EO pod for ISR. Yes that's what I'm talking about. With a top notch capability. I was expecting something around 40k but I was shocked to see my requirements can get me a Rolls Royce |

Question why has SANDF never participated in exercises with foreign Air Force.
Judy respond with the exercises name? We all have pictures of aircrafts in foreign countries so we can all claim they were there for some certain exvercise.
I knew someone posted pictures of the German Tornado in SA for a certain reason.
Edit: The tornado cams for the OTR. Pictures were posted in here then. |

Henry240: I'm not saying it is dead. I'm saying it feels dead to me as it doesn't make any sense that a Jet supposedly ordered before January 2016 has not been delivered up to today.
Well, if the Mig story has substance too. However as far as fighter aircrafts go, i might have to take the Tucanos as they are and call it a day. Anything that comes further will be a bonus.
I'm no longer optimistic about proper fighter purchases. We have officers with the JF-17 badge already tho. |

ActivateKruger: The fact that most of the times when West and Russian equipment meet in the air, Russian equipment eats the dust time and time again. Really ? F18 against a su22? Even a F-14 will shoot down a su22. Until an American jet shoots down a Russian piloted Mig 29, SU 27 then you can justify it. More like Abrams shoots down a BMP |

newafricaken254: first image of Zambia's newly-delivered CH-3 UCAVs, making Zambia the second confirmed operator of CH-3s in Africa. Beautiful. However, is Zambia battling with terrorism? They're doing really good with China. First a jet and now a UCAV. IMO, Kenya should be operating UCAVs already. It will be useful against those terrorists in Somalia. |

Secondly, where are these donated 200 armoured vehicles some of you lot keep talking about? Henry240 after reading the presidential stuff again, I observed the word "about" 200 armored fighting vehicles. We however purchased 177 and this is making everything look somehow. |
