Atiku Abubakar WAS corrupt before he defected to APC. APC accepted him and washed him clean of every atom of corruption. They called him an asset, a prize and a spectacular Nigerian. Now this spectacular Nigerian wants to deliver the country from APC's cluelessness and ineptitude and they are crying foul? We say yes to anyone but buhari. Not because he is buhari but because he picked us from the frying pan into a blazing inferno. BMG - buhari must go. |

More troubles appear to be staring the controversial Catholic Priest and Founder of Adoration Ministry, Enugu Catholic Archdiocese, Rev. Fr Ejike Mbaka, in the face following his statement urging Nigerians to reject President Goodluck Jonathan of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and vote for Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (rtd ) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the February 14 presidential election. Speaking to THISDAY in an exclusive interview, the Catholic Bishop of Abuja Metropolitan See, Cardinal John Onaiyekan, said given the rules of the church, Fr. Mbaka ought to be sanctioned. This came as Onaiyekan cautioned the PDP and opposition, All Progressives Congress (APC) to desist from campaigns of calumny. He stated that prophecies of doom ahead of 2015 elections notwithstanding, “PDP and APC have no right to disorganise Nigeria.” Onaiyekan, commenting on Fr Mbaka, said the priest went overboard in his statement insinuating that President Jonathan’s administration has been plagued with ‘bad luck’ and poor performance. Onaiyekan distanced the Catholic Church from Mbaka’s statement, stating that, “Mbaka will take responsibilities for his own actions. I do not believe in my mind that the way things are in Nigeria, any Catholic priest has the mandate to decide which of the political contestants should be voted for. What most of us will do is to tell people to vote according to their conscience and then, we tell the authorities to allow people to vote freely and fairly. “I wouldn’t be surprised if most people are not happy with the statement he made. From my reactions, you should see that I do not agree with him. I don’t believe a priest should be doing that. “But, like I said, Mbaka is a priest of his own type. If he was in my archdioceses, I will have sanctioned him long ago for the kind of things and utterances that he makes. But, he is not under my diocese; he has a Bishop to handle that if there is any need,” the Cardinal observed. Onaiyekan, rather maintained that Mbaka had earlier made insinuations that President Jonathan’s wife, Mrs. Patience Jonathan, will continue in office. “I hope that people are not thinking that we are sending Mbaka to talk rubbish, how can they think that? If you want to hear anything even not official but at least, authoritative, then, you listen to the bishops. Rather than him and I don’t see any bishop talking that way.” Meanwhile, President of the Catholic Bishops Conference of Nigeria (CBCN), Archbishop Ignatius Kaigama, said Nigerians should avoid hasty generalisation, as the statement of one Catholic priest cannot be taken to represent the voices of more than 30 million Catholics in Nigeria. Kaigama told THISDAY that though Mbaka could not have been speaking for the Nigerian Catholic Church, Nigerians should avoid making unguided statements and hasty generalisation on national issues like the 2015 general election. “There are more than 30 million Catholics in Nigeria, Fr Mbaka is just one Catholic, if he makes a statement, it cannot be the voices of more than 30 million Nigerian Catholics speaking. “So Nigerians should avoid hasty generalisation. Mbaka cannot speak for the church, only the CBCN can speak for the church. Those who are complaining, should go to Fr Mbaka and find out why he is saying what he is saying,” Kaigama said. The CBCN President informed THISDAY that it is completely out of place for a Catholic priest to be partisan. “I tell you, even the Canon Law forbid a priest to engage in partisan politics,” Kaigama told THISDAY. Asked if there would be punitive measures meted out to Mbaka, Kaigama said: “If the law has been abused, we will ensure that we enforce the law. In this case, it is not the Catholic church; the church did not send him to say those things. “Mbaka belongs to a diocese, so if the Bishop finds out that he has fallen out of line, the Bishop can call him to order,” he said. “Mbaka is just expressing his opinion, if we want to make a political statement, we know how to do it. That we keep quiet and we are marginalised, does not mean we don’t have strength. With more than 30 million Catholics, we have the strength,” Kaigama submitted. The Archbishop of Jos argued that there was no public uproar when the same Mbaka assured the first lady of continuity. Fr. Mbaka has come under intense condemnation following his sermon last week, lampooning Jonathan’s administration for poor performance. His comment had elicited public outcry, especially, among the teeming Catholic population in South-east and South-south parts of the country where President Jonathan has a strong support base. http://www.thisdaylive.com/articles/i-ll-sanction-mbaka-if-he-s-under-my-diocese-says-onaiyekan/198424/ |

All Progressives Congress(APC) senatorial candidate for Ogun East, Prince Dapo Abiodun, distributed thousands of bags of rice to the party executives in all electoral units, wards and local councils in all the nine local government areas in the district. Addressing the party executives at a meeting at Ijebu North East local council secretariat, Atan, Abiodun stated that his visit became necessary because of the huge support given to him by the people during the party primaries which he declared contributed tremendously to his emergence as the winner. He appreciated the people for their support for him despite the fact that one of his co-contestants is from their council area. The APC senatorial candidate assured the people of the district that on market days in each of the wards in the nine local governments, bags of rice would henceforth be distributed to market women and men. According him, the party executives from the unit to local government levels would inform party members and supporters about the days chosen for distribution in each ward for the people to come out en mass to collect their bags of rice. He also noted that apart from four litre of kerosene that would be distributed at all the electoral units, party members would also get kegs of vegetable oil. He noted that the gesture is a foretaste of what the people will benefit from him when they eventually elect him during the February general elections, adding that they should however guard their Permanent Voter’s Card(PVC) as that is their means of guaranteeing that such benefits continue. By the middle of January, he said the first set of beneficiaries of the soft loans he had arranged with a commercial bank for empowerment of women, particularly market women, would have access to the fund. Abiodun explained that the distribution of the commodities was to cushion the current economic situation in the country, particularly during the new year celebration. - See more at: http://www.vanguardngr.com/2015/01/apc-candidate-distributes-new-year-rice-ogun/#sthash.TEgsEB12.dpuf |

BENIN CITY – CONTRARY to fears in some quarters that the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Gen.Muhammadu Buhari may probe past corrupt political office holders if elected into office, national Chairman of the party, Chief John Odigie Oyegun has said that a Buhari presidency will not dig into the past.http://www.vanguardngr.com/2014/12/buhari-will-not-probe-past-leaders-oyegun/ |
The Peoples Democratic Party has cautioned the Osun State Government against blackmailing the Federal Government over the deductions from the monthly federal allocation accruing to the state. The Chairman of the PDP in Osun State, Alhaji Gani Olaoluwa, in a statement made available to our correspondent in Osogbo on Monday described the claim of the Osun State Government that the PDP-led FG was starving the state of fund because of the the defeat suffered by the PDP candidate during the governorship election recently held in the state. Olaoluwa said that the APC government in the state had borrowed so much and the huge amount of money being deducted from the allocation was causing financial hardship in the state. According to him, this huge indebtedness is responsible for the inability of the state government to pay workers for three months. He said, ” A sum of N3.4billion was released to Osun State while consensual deductions of N945millon which the Federal Government was made the guarantor by Osun State was deducted. “Also, a total of N116milion was deducted for water projects and Fadama loans incurred by Osun state government leaving the state government with N2.3biillion. First Bank which the state government had taken loans from deducted its share, so where lies the fault of the Federal Government? Was it the Federal government that collected loans or will the APC government not repay it’s loans? http://www.punchng.com/news/allocations-deductions-pdp-warns-osun-against-blackmailing-fg/ |
Liars, GEJ didn't award any contract for building of refineries, the chinese wanted to but since subsidy removal on petroleum was resisted, they saw it as a risky investment and withdrew. So, Osita go and do your research before going to the press next time. |
IN reaction to recent report that House-to-House Campaign Organisation, a socio-political group, has withdrawn its support for President Goodluck Jonathan’s re-election bid and threw her support behind the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Maj. Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, the organisation has described the report as unfounded. Speaking during a press conference in Lagos, the Deputy Director General of the organisation, Mrs. Ayodele Olukoya, debunked the report, claiming that the organisation’s support for Jonathan remained intact. “The name of our group is House-to-House Support Initiative, not House-to-House Educational Initiative. We are campaigning and advocating for the return of President Jonathan come 2015 and we don’t have any reason to withdraw at this crucial time. We have been following the transformation agenda and it is true to its cause. We have the 300 transformation agenda that we had turned into a magazine and we have circulated that. We have done autobiography on Mr. President. We don’t know how the cheap propaganda came about that we are not for Jonathan any longer,” she noted. She also stated that the organisation has never had any link or connection with Buhari or APC. “Our belief is continuity in governance. We are yet to find out the true identity of the story, but I am telling you that the person has no substance. People like us are not interested in what the president would offer us because we believe in his agenda. It is just a cheap blackmail and unfounded rumour,” the deputy DG pointed out. http://www.theguardianmobile.com/readNewsItem1.php?nid=38806 |
