PoliticsRe: Okada Riders Protesting In Benin by TechyGuy: 8:33pm On Jun 12, 2013
Demdem: they should move to other towns in the state. No Okadas in Benin. Case closed.
You have spoken like ACN rulerleaders.
You will be the first to call GEJ a tyrannical leader tomorrow.
PoliticsRe: Oshiomhole Bans Okada In Benin City by TechyGuy: 6:06am On Jun 12, 2013
Some of these ACN folks who haven't gone past Ore will jump into matters concerning states they no nothing of. Because Oshiomole is ACN does not mean every decision is right.
These Okada riders are the same people who swam the polling boots to vote for Oshiomole twice.
They where the same people who took to the streets in protest when the election was rigged.

It is stupid for one to say Okada ban is to curb kidnapping. How can he stupidly say kidnappers are okada riders.
Kidnappers don't use Okada, they are well equipped.
Was it Okada riders that went into Bob Izuas sitting room to kidnap him, they came with SUVs.
Was it okada riders that kidnapped God is good? What about the doctors in UBTH that was kidnapped, okada riders?
All the kidnappings in the city were done by people who are well connected.
They have cars, properties (where they house their captives).
That is a very silly assertion.

For those of you ACN goons who blab without any knowledge at all, Okada in Benin is not the same in Lagos.
In Benin, people board Okada because of BAD ROADS, and because public transport ply 10% of roads.

Oluku <-> Ringroad/New Benin
Uwasota <-> New Benin
Okhoro <-> New Benin
Medical <-> New Benin
Ringroad <-> Ekewan/Asoro/Trade fair/Erhunse
Ringroad <-> Airport road
Ringroad <-> Sapele road
Ringroad <-> 3rd/Upper sakpomba
Ringroad <-> Ikpoba hill/Aduwawa/Depot
Ringroad <-> New Benin/Upper mission/Aduwawa
Ugbowo <-> 1st/2nd
New Benin <-> 1st/2nd/3rd
New Benin <-> Ikpoba Hill
Ringroad <-> Siluko/Egor
Ringroad <-> Okoh/GRA/BIU
Ramat <-> Upper Iwogban/Uteh
Ugbowo <-> TV road
New Benin <-> Textile mill

That's about the route you get public transport (bus and cab)
You are pretty much on your own in other routes (which is too numerous to mention).
Also, Benin roads are not "Express highways" like in Lagos and okada riders are pretty cool headed compared to what you have in Lagos, Onitsha, the North(Bauchi especially, with some other states too), Aba etc.
Banning Okada in Benin without first providing good roads and alternative means of transport is pure tyranny.

I am one Southerner who respect Ribadu highly.
I haven't seen his lecture in KD but if he actually said that about the administration, then I'm disappointed. One reason I respect him was the fact that he didn't go the way of El-Rufai and the likes.
If he has chosen to go that way, then I'm sorry for the North.
PoliticsRe: 7 PDP Governors To Float Party by TechyGuy: 2:35pm On Jun 09, 2013
For those of you who are wishing PDP crumbles, I'm sure y'all kids in Nigeria and politics.
If PDP dies, the new party will become "PDP". What every wise and learned person will be praying for is vibrant opposition(s).
Opposition is not about disagreeing with every thing that's from the other party, it's not about attacking every policy from the other party. It's not about ambition.
It's about providing solutions. They have started in some states, they should have planned on spreading to every region.
PoliticsRe: 7 PDP Governors To Float Party by TechyGuy: 2:26pm On Jun 09, 2013
This is a lesson for Tinubu. You dnt just force ur ambitions on people and expect dem to align. ACN hasn't fared badly. It wd hv been better if he(Tinubu) focused on ACN for now and forget abt merging wt some terrorists. When d time comes, they will soar on their achievements to d presidency. These govs kn Tinubu is simply selfish hence their unwillingness to allign wt him even tho' he recently went to port harcourt to try n convince Amaechi to join APC. With this developments I think APC/ACN may fall. ACN= 6 govs. Proposed party= 10 govs(including 3 ANPP govs)
Thank you so much. This is the reason I got fed up with ACN. They should have projected for presidency in 2019. Make their governors deliver, spread beyond the SW and by 2019, either PDP sits up and deliver or ACN would be returning the president with landslide.
Nay, they turned themselves to activists, fighting everything that does not come from ACN, good or bad, and supporting everything ACN, good or BAD.
PoliticsRe: 7 PDP Governors To Float Party by TechyGuy: 2:21pm On Jun 09, 2013
Now they have realised Tinubu and Buhari cares the least for them. For me, its a welcome development. I am not against it at all. We need more opposition, it will force the ruling party (whoever it is) to deliver more.
CelebritiesRe: Saka Porting To MTN Was A Mistake - Etisalat Boss by TechyGuy: 6:55am On Jun 09, 2013
Carsonv: The only reason I'm still on MTN is the cheaper call rates to MTN numbers (the majority). You know that, I know that and MTN knows that.
On th issue of QoS, MTN falls flat on their belly. Don't argue based on the fact that they have majority of the market. If you want to control 51% of the telecom market be ready to install infrastructure that would deliver the QoS needed. Can you compare the subscriber base of Cingular, AT&T to MTN Nigeria? Yet these telcos deliver out-of-naija services! MTN Sucks...and I can't wait to port my call services from them. Cos currently they can't handle my data services. Etisalat rocks... Saka or no Saka.

Don't blame Saka though...man must wak!
My bro, I like the presence of Etisalat as spoilers. You and I gain from the price crash and plans and freebies rolling in.
It was because of Etisalat, MTN reduced call rates, reduced BB rate and now opened BB plans for Androidistas like me grin
I don't hate them at all, I love their presence but they are still kids in the business. They don't even compare with Airtel yet not to mention MTN.
I used to spend like 6-10k on Internet every month but now, I spend like 1k and still get as much GB as I want.
Stream videos, download apps, games etc.
All from MTN, but thanks to Etibaba as spoilers.

Are you kidding me? MTN has the BIGGEST, WIDEST, AND BEST COVERAGE, QUALITY SERVICE AND CUSTOMER SERVICE, by far!
Read my earlier posts and you may get some info.
Do you know what it means to have over 50 million subscribers on their infrastructure?
GLO and AIRTEL put together has the subscriber base of MTN.
MTN is 3 times bigger than Etisalat, you can't even compare them. 50 million to 17 million, that's the figure.

NOW, put MTN's subscriber base on any network and THEY WILL CRASH IN HOURS!

CelebritiesRe: Saka Porting To MTN Was A Mistake - Etisalat Boss by TechyGuy: 3:48pm On Jun 07, 2013
olaolaking: Mtn has highest subscriber base in Nigeria based on the past. But be aware that those who cares about every penny they spend don't like mtn. Their tarrifs are about the highest in the country with strict and confusing offers. Majority of nigerians want it cheap. Tell me why people will port to Mtn. Their network was the best before but not now. I use mtn o so I know what I am saying
Don't generalize because of your experience from one location compared to the entire Nigeria.
MTN has the biggest investment in Nigeria. Glo is supposed to be though, since they own MainOne which forms part of the back bone of GSM infrastructure in Nigeria.

MTN has about 40-45% of mobile subscriber base in Nigeria.

In my location, Etisalat is dead, not even a good 2G, Airtel is a bit okay, Glo is super fast and MTN is pretty good, I can get 200kb/s on my lappy and 500kb/s on my android phone.
I can't use Glo BB plans on my android and lappy but can use MTN and Airtel but MTN has more data (unlimited on my lappy grin) and fair usage of over 2GB on my android for just 1k, so I stay with MTN.
The fact is that MTN Super saver tariff is quite cheap. N6/min MTN to MTN and N15/min to other network. On my Glo, which I use a lot for calls, I call N15 flat to all networks, so I don't know how MTN is more expensive. In Data, it is cheaper, BB is cheaper, and calls are cheaper too. I actually feel they have the cheapest tariff.

Guys, I'm not campaigning for any telco, I learned a lot from the MNP launch. I never saw the Saka thingy coming like most of you didn't.
MTN was supposed to be on the defensive but they took the bull by the horn and attacked the loudest competitor.
Etisalat is the smallest GSM telco but are the loudest or should I say "most hyped"(thanks to their plan to appeal to young people - freebies, price crash and some good bundled packages).

Oldies will hardly port, Co-ops will hardly port either. Where Etisalat missed it was the way they handled Saka. He was their "brand" but they didn't know that. He brought a lot of young subscribers to Etisalat with his comical ads. They goofed big time!
CelebritiesRe: Saka Porting To MTN Was A Mistake - Etisalat Boss by TechyGuy: 3:12pm On Jun 07, 2013
Elmos: With all respect, am not currently reside in Nigeria, but I read Nigeria news everyday and listen to Channels News at 10 everyday, so am more or less into the knowing back home. My investigation from a very reliable contact person, he work at high level cadre in one of the telecom companies, told me emphatically that ETISALAT and AIRTELL are getting more. I believe him, he is in a vantage position to know, this guy earn over 5m a month, so that will tell more about his knowledge about what is going on there.
xixftpluz: @Techyguy where did u get ur statistics? Categorically speaking, Mtn has been d major loser per d porting issue. Wait for NCC's statistics later in d quarter and Let's see who is right. This is a first hand info.

Stop spreading falacy Bro.
I don't expect anyone to agree as I cannot state the source here. However, it is from a regulating body that has stats for ALL telcos, not some cooked up stat by staff of the telecoms coy. Does your contact work in MTN? Every telco coy will tell you they are gaining so forget the guys report, he most likely do not have the stat for competitors.
@xixftpluz, is it not possible I work in NCC or have a close relation/buddy/pal in NCC. You guys seem not to know that there is a unified MNP clearing house for all Naija telcos.
CelebritiesRe: Saka Porting To MTN Was A Mistake - Etisalat Boss by TechyGuy: 2:27pm On Jun 07, 2013
sharp man: Oga,

Where did you get your statistics from? The information i have is that more people are leaving MTN and moving to Etisalat.

Do you think that consumers will change their network because of Saka?
I know "Etisalat youths" will never believe the info.
For your information, MTN has more new subscribers daily than almost all other networks put together (don't ask me where I got the stats, wink grin coolwink)
MNP is in favour of MTN as it stands, Etisalat is the biggest looser so far. By the way, it is not just Saka's ad, but MTN's strategic marketing and investment in infrastructure.

Right now:
MTN has over 45 million subscribers
Glo follows with 27 million
Airtel with about 27 million too
Etisalat with about 17 million

MTN has grown since the MNP launch and Etisalat dropped some figures. Major chunk of the figures dropped from Etisalat added to MTN base.
Mind you, I know Etisalat is highly needed in the industry. They are price crashers and also they force MTN and others to continually give promos and freebies.

Though Etisalat has the smallest subscriber base and infrastructure, they are giving MTN run for their money.
CelebritiesRe: Saka Porting To MTN Was A Mistake - Etisalat Boss by TechyGuy: 1:36pm On Jun 07, 2013
The guy is just talking to ease the effect the ad had on Etisalat. Inside information/statistics shows that MTN is gaining from MNP more than any other network and Etisalat is the biggest looser so far.
Many people don't understand how the market in Nigeria works.
You would be shocked to know that more people have ported out of Etisalat to MTN than between any other network.

The stats show:

MTN gaining (with more porting in from Etisalat than Glo and Airtel)
Airtel comes 2nd.
Glo is pretty much same (port in and port out, is pretty balanced).
Etisalat has lost more customers, to MTN and Airtel.

That's why they are trying to do damage control. They goofed big time, thinking media hype among youth immediately translates to popularity.
Residents of Gwande in Manguna district of Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau state have fled their homes following the invasion of their community by gunmen suspected to be Fulani herdsmen.

The incident came at the same time as some Fulani herdsmen attacked Bende community in Gashish district of Barakin Ladi local council, killing two. The attackers also destroyed farmlands and uprooted farm crops. In the same vein, the same attackers also invaded Tawala village, killing one person and burning many houses.

The militants in d Niger Delta were killing and blowing up Oil pipelines and kidnaping foreigners and oil workers wit a huge ransome paid 4 there release yet the militants were given a special treatment.

That should not be a reason for not creating the Anioma State. @OP, you should come up with better points, this is just too flimsy.
