aigjoey: @ TECHYGUY!!!!!I don't understand the band-waggoners. The war is for the benefit of the consumers. MTN slashed their BB plans just because of the war. Promo will be flying here and there, tariffs will get cheaper and cheaper. Soon it would be contract subscription, where you pay say N2,500 and for 30 days you have 600 mins, unltd sms, 1GB data etc. What is wrong with all these guys who know nothing about brand wars. It will get to a point that the war will go beyond freebies and rates but services. NCC or CRC will not have to tell these telecoms coys that they would have to give us 4G and LTE for peanuts. MTN is already preparing, they are doing new investments in infrastructure already. I like it, we are the ones that stand to gain. SO, PLEASE LET THE BRAND WAR CONTINUE! How I wish for Electricity to be like this, where you can port to a better service provider ![]() |
bashnorth: he is simply replying the man,as he said no one has monopoly of violence.Hey, keep that deception to yourself. I can read for myself and I'm sure others can. |
Why is it targeted at MTN. I thought I saw ads from Etisalat and Airtel. Airtel with their morbid network and customer service also did an ad dissing MTN. Why is that not talked about as well. Etisalat with 20% of MTN subscriber base still cant connect with one dial. Let the brand war continue, it will lead to better and cheaper service. I heard MTN is investing about N490B into expansion and upgrade recently. It's because of the new level of competition brought in by Number Portability. This is one thing I will forever hail OBJ for, The privatization of Telecoms sector. |
This from The Herald this morning Northern president or no Nigeria – CPC chieftain replies Dokubo, KukuIs there any difference between Asari Dokubo and CPC Chieftain and ex-lawmaker, Farouk Adamu Aliyu in the news above? It's appalling his hypocrisy. His statements are even more treasonable than Asari Dokubo's statement. |
Seun, we know you may be busy in the bank but please comment on this thread. Ice the cake ![]() |
The North is determined, if that happens, to make the country ungovernable for Jonathan or any other Southerner who finds his way to the seat of power. Moreover, when President Goodluck Jonathan confirmed that he would contest the 2011 presidential election, great opposition rose against him in the North. The first bombshell came from Shehu Sani, a Kaduna based civil rights activist who said, “President Goodluck Jonathan should not contemplate contesting the 2011 presidential election. Any attempt by him to contest amounts to incitement and a recipe for political instability. Even though rotational presidency is unconstitutional, it has been able to address problems of regional, ethnic, sectional domination and marginalization”. The warning precluding President Jonathan from contesting the 2011 presidential election did not stop with Shehu Sani as Alhaji Lawal Kaita, a close associate of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar added his voice to the agitation when he said, “The North is determined, if it happens, to make the country ungovernable for President Jonathan or any other Southerner who finds his way to the seat of power on the platform of the PDP against the principle of the party’s zoning policy. Anything short of a Northerner president is tantamount to stealing our presidency. Jonathan has to go and he will go. Even if he uses incumbency power to get his nomination on the platform of the PDP, he would be frustrated out”. With these words, the battle line between President Jonathan and his opponents was drawn. The tension in the country became very high as some politicians from the North were making inciting statements. Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar was not spared from this bandwagon when he said, “Those who make peaceful change impossible will make violent change inevitable”. The various inciting statements were not made in vain as they were matched with actions. The threat by the Northern politicians to make the country ungovernable for President Goodluck Jonathan was fulfilled with the post election violence that erupted in some parts of the North which led to the death of some members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Bauchi State. Zonkwa area of Kaduna State was worst hit as more than 300 people were killed during the riot. Congress for Progressive Change (CPC), claimed that the presidential election was rigged. Gen Buhari was quoted in the media as saying: “God willing by 2015, something will happen. They either conduct a free and fair election or they go a very disgraceful way. I do not support Dokubo and he should be shished! But for the ACN/CPC goons here, what is the difference between statements by Kaita, Atiku, Buhari and ACF warlords/terrorists above and that of Dokubo. You are the same people that were all over the place defending these terrorists. If Dokubo's statement is treasonable (which I feel it is), is Buhari, Kaita, Atikus's and some ACF leaders statements not treasonable? Dokubo is as much a terrorist as Buhari, Kaita, Sani, Ciroma and many more ACF terrorists! The only thing is that the Northern warlords are steps ahead. They are already MAKING NIGERIA UNGOVERNABLE! |
I think deSika did a very good job pointing out points that, not surprisingly, was left unanswered. Anyway, every muslim has the right to their belief. You are not under obligation to believe in Jesus, its a choice! |
ayenny02: PASTOR! PASTOR!! PASTOR !!! Please explain these to us;I saw the post earlier but decided to not bother reply you as it is obvious you didnt ask to learn but for mischief. I have tried it before, it doesn't yield much progress. I only post that comment because that fellow tried to mislead people and a single post can stop it from happening. As for yours, I would have to pick each verse and put them back into context and explain to you but I must admit, knowing that you didnt ask to learn, there is no need. And explaining the new testament part will be very difficult. This is the reason: 1 Corinthians 2 10 But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God. 11 For what man knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God. 12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God. 13 These things we also speak, not in words which man’s wisdom teaches but which the Holy Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual. 14 But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. 15 But he who is spiritual judges all things, yet he himself is rightly judged by no one. 16 For “who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct Him?” But we have the mind of Christ. |
TO ADD TO MY PREVIOUS POST: Here is Paul the Apostle's message, showing how a Christ-like he is. Romans 12: 14 Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse. 15 Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep. 16 Be of the same mind toward one another. Do not set your mind on high things, but associate with the humble. Do not be wise in your own opinion. 17 Repay no one evil for evil. Have regard for good things in the sight of all men. 18 If it is possible, as much as depends on you, live peaceably with all men. 19 Beloved, do not avenge yourselves, but rather give place to wrath; for it is written, “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” says the Lord. 20 Therefore “If your enemy is hungry, feed him; If he is thirsty, give him a drink; For in so doing you will heap coals of fire on his head.” 21 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. |
talk2me006: LUKE 19:27I am surprised you almost got away with this misinformation. The scripture you quoted was A PARABLE JESUS TOLD. It's obvious you picked out that verse to make it sound like Jesus instructed them to do so. NO He didnt. He was telling a parable that illustrates what HAPPENS ON THE JUDGEMENT DAY! Compare it with this: Matthew 26 51 And suddenly, one of those who were with Jesus stretched out his hand and drew his sword, struck the servant of the high priest, and cut off his ear. 52 But Jesus said to him, “Put your sword in its place, for all who take the sword will perish by the sword. 53 Or do you think that I cannot now pray to My Father, and He will provide Me with more than twelve legions of angels? 54 How then could the Scriptures be fulfilled, that it must happen thus?” 55 In that hour Jesus said to the multitudes, “Have you come out, as against a robber, with swords and clubs to take Me? I sat daily with you, teaching in the temple, and you did not seize Me. 56 But all this was done that the Scriptures of the prophets might be fulfilled.”Then all the disciples forsook Him and fled. AND THIS Matthew 5 38 “You have heard that it was said, ‘An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth.’ 39 But I tell you not to resist an evil person. But whoever slaps you on your right cheek, turn the other to him also. 40 If anyone wants to sue you and take away your tunic, let him have your cloak also. 41 And whoever compels you to go one mile, go with him two. 42 Give to him who asks you, and from him who wants to borrow from you do not turn away. Love Your Enemies 43 “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ 44 But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you, 45 that you may be sons of your Father in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. 46 For if you love those who love you, what reward have you? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? 47 And if you greet your brethren only, what do you do more than others? Do not even the tax collectors do so? 48 Therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect. Now, please stick to your quran and the interpretation and stop posting deception. |

All the bad road projects you see are inspected by civil service engineers. They go there, they are sorted, then they go back with good reports. the road goes bad the next month, everybody starts insulting the governor or president! Its only Nigerians that have not worked and interacted widely that think like the opposition supporters on this forum. Or is it the folks that work in NAFDAC, PHCN, NNPC, POLICE, JAMB, WAEC, OUR UNIVERSITIES, even the JUDICIARY? Just name it, corruption is a "Nigerian" thing not a PDP or any other party thing. It is more saddening to know that the 2 strongest tools to fight corruption, the church (religious places) and the family have had people twist their ideologies and values. |
joseph1832: A fine point you made, but let me ask, is the FG not aware of the maasive corruption that has bedeviled this country? What have they done about it? The people who crippled Nigerian Airways, Nitel and co are part and parcel of this present day political profitEers, how come our President is not probing them?.What are you talking about? Who is FG? I once worked in the ministry so forget it. The so called FG are still the common man, the labour force. I know a man who retired from a ministry when he was told to sign a false document by his boss. How many Nigerians will do same? The same boss will carry newspaper everyday and insult the president and other politicians! Who are we deceiving! |
Nkemtreasure: The man is right. Can any politician steal without a CIVIL SERVANT? In fact they are the ones who will cover the thing for you.1,000,000,000 likes! This has been my stand since I started discussing politics years back. To add to your points, If you have been to Apapa and witness the oil biz scams, you will know that we, Nigerians, are hypocrites! All the paper work is done by the same people who come to nairaland and other public discussions to insult the government and accuse politicians of corruption. No oil thief or politician goes to the port themselves to falsify records. The people doing the importation, the banks funding it, the inspection agencies, port authorities etc. They are all involved. I have always asked this question: Have you ever seen an election candidate visit every ward to rig elections? No! Its the "common" Nigerian that does all the rigging for them! I could go on, GEJ is 100% right in this, I couldn't agree more. And until all this opposition band-waggoner's realize we are the problem not the government or party, we will remain the same whether or not the ruling party changes. |
ACN/CPC, with their propaganda!!! |
biolabee: Courtois to barca..and he is spainishCourtois is Belgian not Spanish. |
I will start sitting for Budesliga matches henceforth. BVB and Bayern have won my attention. |
thegoodjoehunt: Hyneckes is good option. My personal best because he brings in immediate results. Just like what Abrahamovic likes.Oh! I didn't know that. I was wondering why Bayern would need Pep. I get it now. |
thegoodjoehunt: Bayern can score. Now they also want to know the possessive passing philosophy. Even Klopp of Dortmund said, he let Gotze go because he can't coach tiki taka like Guardiola.Of course I know Pep didn't manage AC and Celtic. My point is that Hyneckes has done a great job and should continue. the tiki taka is not necessarily a winning tactics. It can become your undoing. Arsenal has been the EPL Barca and have been throphiless for 8 years. When Tiki-Taka meets a tactical team, they become frustrated and boring. |
thegoodjoehunt: Please I don't want Mourinho near that team. Mourinho can't mold youngsters. He messed up Canales, Pedro Leon, Nuri Sahin, Sarabia of Real Madrid. Messed up Balotelli at Inter Milan. Messed up Mikel, Nuno Morias and Phillippe Oliviera at Chelsea.I am a big fan of Klopp, would love to see him at the bridge. Hyneckes would be a good manager too, at least we know he's free by summer. |
shymexx: Philipp Lahm is the best right-back in the world!!!I still don't know how Alves made it ahead of him in FIFPRO XI. Its a shame! |
thegoodjoehunt: After Guardiola used Barca to thrash Bayern, the Management have been working towards achieving the Tiki Taka kind of football. That thrashing brought a big change in German football. From Club level to the national team.Bros, dat na story, Have you seen what happened to Madrid and Barca? By the way, dont forget Barca had no answer to Inter, Chelsea, Madrid (when they played tactically), AC Milan and even Celtic. What is possession of 80% if you can't score a goal in 180 mins? Make 600 completed passes and have 1 short on target? |
All these Barca fans giving the excuse of Messi not in the game, have you forgotten the one he played ended 4 - 0? |
Bayern has played in 3 of the last 4 finals, 2010, 2012 and 2013. This is obviously the best team in Europe. FIFA should be ashamed of the last FIFA PRO XI. And for goodness sake, what is Bayern management doing hiring Guardiola? I don't know what he will do to the team that just destroyed the team he left to die. This present manager is awesome. If Muo does not come to Chelsea, Roman should look to him. Another great manager I feel should be manager of the year is Klopps (BVB). The guy raised a team of mostly unknown players to the UCL Final. |
All right, can this thread be deleted now?Who liked this post? It was supposed to be for another, the one about Barca winning 4-0. How can this thread be deleted. Please archive it oh! We will need it, at least to remind Barca fans what it's like to be Barca. |
This is not fair at all. Barca and Madrid spent all their energy fighting each other. They wasted all their resources comparing Ronaldo and Messi, now they are looking like average teams and players. |
tweetobyte: Just like in the movies!Ahhh! Bros, where you see roasted corn. Na today own?(lol). Me no see better one for Lagos oh. Chei, I miss B-side. Abeg, pass me one jor, make i for no lost. |
By this, its a win-win for MTN. Other networks will be forced to crash their tariff if MTN does. Judging by the subscriber share, MTN still makes 2x to 4x the profit of other networks. Can these networks like Etisalat survive? They are presently not making profit, going by the books. |
I have to say this, the problem of Nigeria is not PDP or any other party. Retrogression has been for decades now, from regime to regime, under several political institutions. When the North ruled it was the same, when the South West did, it was the same, Middle Belt? Same. I feel strongly, the issue is US, Nigerians! It's not with the people we have voted in but the fact that we are not yet a NATION. In developed worlds, when it comes to certain basic principles/issues, the Nation becomes one, you don't play politics. We really need to hold our leaders responsible. From councillors to LGA chairmen, to State house, to state executive, to national house and executive, we need to demand accountability. You cannot do that when all you scream is "Get out of office, we can do it better!". No! What I'm seeing from the opposition is just a desperation to take over control not necessarily because they LOVE Nigeria. I pray we get to that place soon or we part our ways for good. |
