Bigchristo: Joysticks: michlins: otokx:Unfortunately, despite our should coulda, woulda, mfm04622b is on point. mfm04622:The flaw lies in the laws that do not make provisions for compensation for victims like these ones. If states had to pay for the mistakes of cops, there would be more scrutiny to ensure resources are not wasted in judgement fines or fees. If anyone here has the ears of a federal lawmaker, you could have him/her sponsor a bill for the restitution of wrongly detained prisoners. This will help soothe the hurt done them. |
Talk2david1:@Talk2david1 The law stipulates a minimum wage for employers where the number of employees in that establishment is 25 or more. Yes, they can be sued but the employer might claim in defence that the school is not making as much to make it up to 30k per employee and instead of laying off staff, they decided to keep up the lower pay. Another way they might play this is by reducing the number of employees to exactly 24! But, isn't charity supposed to begin from the govt? Several state govts still operate the 18k minimum wage due to low income and use the - instead of laying off staff..... - excuse. Now if govt can get away with it.... Hope you see the similitude. For now, it is not a battle that can be won. Wishing you well - Teemy |

1 Corinthians 7:3-5 3.The husband should fulfill his marital duty to his wife, and likewise the wife to her husband. 4.The wife does not have authority over her own body, but the husband. Likewise the husband does not have authority over his own body, but the wife. 5.Do not deprive each other, except by mutual consent and for a time, so you may devote yourselves to prayer. Then come together again, so that Satan will not tempt you through your lack of self-control. Whoever is yet to accept the above statement has no business being in the marriage union. Depriving the other party access to his/he body in conjugal right is one of several reasons a divorce petition is granted favor in courts. @ tobechi20, I hope this answers the question N.B consideration and understanding also matters |

BKayy:In the town where I stay here, my Igbo friends told me of how some indigenes wanted to chase them away from where they sell their stuff but with good standing with the Iyaloja and the Kabiyesi, that evil plan was never achieved. If you reverse the scenario where they don't have that protection, lots of hard-working people would have suddenly gotten their source of livelihood suddenly cut short. Every December, Igbo sons and daughters from all over the world travel back home and spend heavily as a way of developing their homelands and in the celebrations of the season. Imagine a good portion of those people without an income? I know the entrepreneurship Igbo spirit will push them to newer grounds but for a good number, things will never be the same again. For any economy to develop, it needs exports, and in a case where there is a systematic plan to ostracise the Biafran nation by Nigeria, the income of that nation will take a great hit. remember how West African nations were affected when Nigeria recently closed its borders. At the moment, Igbos are the major importers of goods in the country. They sell to their neighbors around them. Once they leave, it won't be long before someone takes over their functions (Nigeria of today where people are looking for jobs). Also, the Igbo nation is not a united region. We have the Osu caste system, and there exist lots of communal clashes. Once out of Nigeria, the enemy is no more a faraway 'them' but a nearby 'you', and to what scale would the communal issues be then? At the moment, several people have lost their lives over the sit-at-home issue. How many more do you think will die over town clashes where everyone will want to show domination over the other. The curse of George Orwell's Animal farm is very real and it keeps happening over and over. Sudan of recent. During the last elections, I was amazed that the greatest opponents to Obi as a vice were actually his own tribesmen and this was very close to elections risking the outcome. My brother, the things that should be done first is building Igbo cohesion and not trying to make every other tribe an enemy. What I see here on Nairaland is not it and certainly not the way to go about it. To have an Igbo President, it will take combining hands together with every other tribe but first, get your house united. Wishing you well - Teemy |
The implication of a separated Biafra means Igbos will be foreigners in any part of Nigeria they currently reside in They can't do business without a working permit The current political class will still be the same political class. The jealously against business savvy Igbos in Nigeria will take a new dimension. Ghana must go will be child's play. Others will take on their businesses. Lots of Igbo properties will be lost Whatever the marginalization felt before, it will be more on a Biafra exit. True, Nigeria has lots of issues but it would be wise to consider if leaving the flying pan would not lead to jumping into hot flames. There is a reason those living outside Igbo land are not in on the exodus. The same reason those Igbo lawyers joined in as defendants in the case. |

Ginaz: Iyaebe:Have you noticed that the ones that usually shout cheating are usually the guilty ones? They feel if they are doing it, possibly the partner is doing the same and won't be at rest till they are proven right. Hubby too has been playing with fire. Can you put flame on your chest and not get burnt? Both should seat down to discuss heart to heart on what they want and get set to forgive both ways |
Strongdickfresh:Search out the person on facebook. I once did that and it worked with the person reversing it without issues. Your approach is the crucial element. Putting the person's details online here could have someone else contacting them and claiming to be you. You need to be more careful. Alternative is to contact your bank. |

@Kehindeaj78, at this point, you should focus on that which is important to you and that is your immediate family. Looking at it from wifey's side, an investment she committed to because you her husband were involved in would most likely go down the drain because of people you love and you both respect. If you ever wish to retain her trust in you, you should refund back to her her stake. This way, you will show that you would always protect her and hers (you know we as men are supposed to take the bullet for our beloved right?). About the house, it has 'go'. Let it go. Your wife, you protect. Peace dear. Wishing you well - Teemy |
@Solatpumpkim, a friend and I have been following your thread since morning and I feel it is time I talked on this. I have also made several assumptions that I believe to be true. Depending on the exposure and mindset, parents especially African parents might not live to the expectations of enlightened folks and sometimes, society tells us to suck it up. I talk to my sons, I say please, sorry, and thanks when appropriate. Sometimes, we come to terms on some agreements which garners trust that both sides have to keep. Unfortunately, your hubby might not be accorded such regard as seen from the write-up of the two of you. Managing the current scenario lies in both your hands. That house which I assume is in the village (based on you guys want it to be the place you will land in when you come around) is gone. I reiterate G.O.N.E. Cococandy hinted that with the visit of a few family members at intervals and a stay now and then, even the authority of who lodges will totally be in the hands of your FIL. That house is now a family house. Almost no one in that village will hear any story in the court of public opinion. The words of some people here on NL is enough to let you see the mind of our 'exposed' brethren talkless of the village where it is expected that children do things for their parents. I can deduce hubby sending money to FIL for the house building will also include money for papa and mama (considering that even the money fo the next house rent was borne by him). In all honesty, having someone decide what they want to do with your property could be painful but any attempt to force them out will even turn your hubby against you especially it being a thing of shame to him if it becomes a rowdy public affair and in the protection of ego, common sense finds its way out. The only other option left to you will be to collect your invested funds but I will tell you straight up that doing that will be a huge mistake and I will explain that in a moment. It will be the beginning of friction in your marriage as you will not want to combine funds with him on any future projects. That trust would be gone and despite you being in the right, he will hold it against you in a way and this could find its way in future dealings (coming from a divorcee). Trust me, you have many more years ahead of you guys than to let money at this infant stage of your marriage together split you. I know I have no moral right to tell you to leave it as it is obvious it is a huge cost you guys to even get the house to this stage (he has been building it before you got married, you both contributed to it and it is yet to be 100 completed.) I do plead with you, I implore you to not ask it of him. If he wishes it, let him be the one to offer it and even at that, not collecting it will be a deposit that you will always earn interest on. The rest, I leave to you. Wishing you well - Teemy |
davillian:That is the pitiable part of the whole thing. I don't even bother to advise relationships in such cases and they sha always find their way back |
Kobojunkie:@ topic, The OP made mention that a young girl in the house could see the expression of affection and want to replicate such. Tying to tell the girl otherwise could cause a form of confusion in her which she might decide on her own definition when she grows up. Yorubas have a word called 'boju mu' meaning appropriate. Cheeks, foreheads are there and I sure did my own shave of kissing my kids but where appropriate which was why I could correct when one of them wanted to kiss a baby on the lips which did not make mummy and daddy kissing a confusing thing because I could define kissing on the lips as for lovers only. The video excerpt was an extract to buttress 'boju mu'. wink* |
