I want some of you who are feeling desperate about this NNPC recruitment and full of anxiety to visit the thread above. It was started on the 11th of September 2011 after NNPC interviews like this and it currently has 1594 pages.
Many theories were postulated including information from key management sources at the top of NNPC.
Wednesday theories included that the NNPC board/management meet those days.
Madam Minister of Petroleum said this, presidency said that, FCC said another.
They had an equivalent of the "Jaruses" and "Mosgoons" in the person of "Jesus Army" and co. To be fair to 'Jarus' and 'Mosgoon', they are very humble compared to the equivalent in the shared thread.
Soon courier services started calling people to drop their appointment letters - and the house divided. You guys are dividing yourselves too early. Wait for the letters to start dropping - everyone won't be employed by NNPC, and it's not a curse or being mean when someone say that.
"Jesus Army" and some other key members (including the author of the thread) didn't get the letter. Then another theory sprang up - there is going to be a second batch. Some who had received their letters mocked them and advised they should move on with their lives. They cursed, bickered, etc.
At a point they organised days of prayers for the second batch letters to be released. They contributed money to seek the services of media houses to force NNPC to make an announcement on the status of the recruitment riding on FOI act.
After some months another set of letters, maybe few were released. This was mainly for NNPC Retail Ltd. Then hope rose up again for them to the high heavens. Jesus Army was once again seen as a true prophet.
I want to tell you that people were practically waking up to visit that thread, share dreams of hope, make prophetic proclamations on their letters for 5 years and above.
At a point 'Jesus Army' got a good job in an oil and gas firm and moved on, but not without encouraging the 'hopefuls' not to become weak in faith. Some others changed jobs, got like two or more promotions, yet some guys were still believing in 'second batch'.
Why am I saying all these? You need to encourage yourself that it's 50:50 on you getting this job. I know the country is hard and a job with NNPC will definitely make a lot of difference. If you really really have faith, in God and in yourself, you will believe that you can do well or better with or without NNPC job.
I know some people who passed through that desperate, traumatic experience of the thread above, but who picked themselves up and rose again. Some of them were practically begged by friends/family to apply, attend CBT test, or travel to Abuja for the interview. They are not sure of taking up the job if given. You too can work yourself up to that level of comfort in this Nigeria. God bless you all.

I think i'm deducing a theory from all these.

Perhaps those paid last week were the ones that were rejected right from the interview panel. And now that it's confirmed that selections have been concluded, they decided to pay off those that have just been screened out.

Oya another theory, instead of NNpC to conduct 2 interviews like most big firms, they conducted one, and employed "2 line screening" after screening the first people, they pay them immediately, now they've screened out the second batch, and are now being paid.

July 6th or 2nd applicants are not the only people that have been paid, they've paid other dates too. And they're yet to pay some applicants on those July 2nd and 6th as well.

Note: IF APL is coming next week, THEN

Tfare should be concluded this week,

ELSE IF Tfare will continue to next week, THEN

Tfare will be paid weekly till APL comes in,

ELSE Tfare has no correlation with APL,

END IF.

Lemme share my scenerio over the night..
so I slept and had a dream on APL, I saw a list "qualifiers from Interview" I was rushing thru and couldn't find my name at first, then they told me to calm down and check again, on checking again, I saw my name as the first on the list!. I had skip it at first because of the whole tension that I jumped to the 3rd sheet not looking at the first.
Point is: APL is here already, I can feel it ...at one point or the other, everyone think about this thing like 2times in every 2hours with the exception of @oga jarus and some others. But all other local men and women do this. .....the tension is real, e wan even follow me enter dream sef...... .....let's all calm down

Who says nnpc won't be employing more job seekers. With their recent dream of commercialization (making steps on it already) and listing of their excess gain on social media..... Then this (they want to explore more areas to increase the country's hydrocarbon reserve and bpd).

We should all be calm, many people might ended up been called (myself inclusive )

What of those that took part in the CBT and were unable to access the portal when interview mail was sent. Let try to separate fact from assumption. IT don't work that way not in this century. I rest my case.

If they truly have selected and conclude everything I dont think you will have access to the career portal.

There are many sides to this selection process. I don't think it only boils down to state or village people fight..
They will also consider ones field.

They should have total number of GTs they need in each department.. So Let's say they need 60 ICT Gts, 50 geologists, 100 Pet engineers etc (just assumed figures)

If they should select based on the best candidates per state. They may not meet their desired departmental slots. You may have more science GTs than is needed or more Arts GTs.

So as much as each state is expected to get even slots (except oil producing states) . they also consider the available slots in the department depending on one's course of study.

So ure somehow expected to be among the best in your department.

It's possible that there are some core departments where they will select the best candidates in the interview irrespective of their State of Origin.. And then use other candidates from other departments or states to compensate for this.

At the end of the day, All states are still well represented.

We really do not know what method they will use. But I pray they will use the one that will favour you and I.

Why shortlist about 9,000 if you will employ only 1,250, why not shortlist the top 4000 or 3500?? There will be so many heartbreaks when the APL drops.

Thats how recruitment is in Nigeria there tend to be so many heartbreaks. .

From my source:

1. 1000GTs to get Apl’s and 250 EH’s needed.
2. Competition is stiff all round but most especially for EH cadre because interview scores are close and about 5 to be selected per state and about 8 in oil producing states.
3. No consideration for CBT scores as they were aggregated as just pass on their database
4. It’s all down to fine margins.
5. Selection is being worked on now and we should hear from them by early August

What advice do you have for a graduate who just got an offer from a bank and a big4 accounting firm(will be first job experience), but whose age by next year is not eligible for graduate trainee programs in private coys in this our wonderful country Nigeria. This person is open to to all career paths except sales/marketing. She wishes to choose either offer and follow whatever career it accords her professionally without wishing to change career at any later time in the nearest or furthest future. She studied economics. Thanks a lot sir.

Big 4 is my advice for her while bank job is a no no for me. Don't want to give my reasons bcuz some people here will see it differently.
