Health / Re: Help On Permanent Cure For Bad Breath by temisafety: 8:48am On Jun 25, 2023
Talking from experience:

1. Go and see ENT (ear, nose and throat) specialist doctor. If it is due to infection, they will tell you what medicine to take and the odour will go.

2. Look for Norland toothpaste. It costs around N2000. It's very good.

See ENT doctor. It's likely infection, so they would recommend proper antibiotics.
Phones / I'm Looking For Condemned Fero X1 by temisafety: 6:21am On Oct 12, 2019
Anyone has a condemned Fero X1? I lost the side buttons of my own Fero X1 and could not get it in the market because the company has closed and they're no longer making Fero. My X1 is still working but no side buttons so it is hard to use the volume or power button. Please let me know if you have a condemned one to give or sell. Great responses from Nairalanders! I would add that you take this as an opportunity to draw closer to God. You are invited to the on-going convention of the Redeemed Christian Church of God. You can watch every evening on the DSTV, internet, RCCG churches or attend physically at the headquaters camp. God remains the best solution to all problems.
Computers / Any Solution To Laptop "Crash Dump" When Browsing With Glo? by temisafety: 10:21am On Jul 02, 2016

Politics / Re: Protesters Block Lagos Assembly Over Abnormal Electricity Tariff (photo) by temisafety: 10:10am On Nov 17, 2015
Those electricity operators are notorious almost everywhere. It’s becoming more frequent now to hear about organised protests like this one despite the fact that Nigerians don’t usually like to do such when they can just pay for the thing in question and move on. Fela called it the suffering and smiling attitude. What Nigerians can do to quickly stop the discos in their reckless billings is to come together and sue them to court through class actions, in addition to protesting to the Houses of Assembly. Organise city wide groups of people that are affected and sue each one of the discos that are known to be over-billing. It can be done per state or per operator. All these protests alone seem to never have any effect on them and they are just going to continue with their way. Lawyers in the house can advise better ‘cos I’m not one.

Government has not allowed them to increase tariffs and things are like this, so what will happen when they’re allowed to increase the tariffs?

Like this post if you agree that mass legal action in addition to protesting to the Houses will make them bill properly.

Politics / How Can He Support Buhari If He Has No Billions Of Naira To Donate? by temisafety: 10:45am On Jan 02, 2015
Any ideas how I can support Buhari for 2015 election apart from (or in addition to) donating money? I'd love to give money, but I don't have right now. If for no other reason, I'd love to have a leader who has demonstrated the will and capacity to fight corruption because that to me is the biggest problem facing this otherwise beautiful country. Every other problem is secondary. It's painful that a day hardly passes without one suffering the repercussions of corruption: be it nepa, police, bribery everywhere, crude oil theft, lack of facilities in public hospitals, fallen educational standards, poorly equipped police and army to fight criminals, amassing of wealth and property by politicians and their allies using the people's money , etc, etc.

Buhari's profile looks perfect to lead the country out of the above: , a former head of state that fought corruption tooth and nail; openly challenged the government to investigate him if he's ever stolen government money; not known to have amassed money or property anywhere; left an unforgettable mark in the minds of Nigerians regarding indiscipline; an army man and yet empowered his subordinate Idiagbon so much that some think he was merely a figure head which is laughable; summarily nipped maitatsine in the bud; willing to declare his assets where many of today's so called leaders WOULD NOT, etc, etc. To me, God is presenting a rare opportunity, but it appears the demonic spirits of backwardness and darkness are still blindfolding many. With his profile and passion, Buhari appears to be a Godsend to address corruption headlong and put us back to the track of greatness as a nation and as citizens. His pairing with Professor Osibanjo makes him even more promising: a SAN and former attorney general in Lagos implies he would make a highly knowledgeable and competent lieutenant.

So I'm eager and wondering what I can do in my own little way to give my maximum support to him. I do not have money to donate, but I believe it's not all about money. Kindly, pleeeaase, give your ideas of what I can legitimately do to support Buhari/Osibanjo to ensure they win the 2015 election 'cos I'm tired of this valley.

Thank you for your ideas.

PS: Goodluck/Sambo supporters are highly welcome to post something similar to this post so that we can all reason together and take action to move our country forward.
Business / Re: Preventing Your Business Name From Being Reallocated By The CAC? by temisafety: 2:26pm On Feb 26, 2013
I think ulterior motives is one of the major reasons they won't like to automate. After all, automation is much cheaper now and would make life much easier for themselves and for their customers. But they've been talking it and promising heaven and earth for like a decade now.
Brand_new: Same happened to me a few years back.....when will they automate the registration process?

Business / Preventing Your Business Name From Being Reallocated By The CAC? by temisafety: 11:16am On Feb 26, 2013
How Can You Prevent your chosen business name from being reallocated by the CAC?

I'm almost certain the people at Corporate Affairs Commission are being fraudulent with good/brandable names during name search. In the most recent experience I had with them,
1. We submitted 4 names for search.
2. They claimed 3 were not available but that the 4th one was.
3. We completed different documentations to complete the registration process.
4. CAC gave the go-ahead to publish the organization on a national newspaper and we published.
5. After some months (long after the publication), they told us that that name was no longer available and that we must find another name or add some word to the already approved and published one.
It's disheartening because we worked so had to come up with the names. Besides, we were only expecting to be informed that the registration had been completed after passing the name search stage.
My question is, how can you prevent CAC people from stealing a valuable/brandable name?

Phones / Re: Great Value For Money Blackberry by temisafety: 7:33am On Sep 23, 2012
It can be touch screen or normal as long as it meets those specs, ie:
1. have 3G
2. easily bridge with Playbook
3. have the most useful Blackberry functions (doesn't have to have those many features that people rarely need)
4. cheap or at least have great value for the money.
Excelboi: Preferably touchscreen oor just normal type? I have some list to suggest to you!

Career / Re: Tayo Aderinokun, GTBank CEO, Passes On by temisafety: 4:45pm On Jun 15, 2011
This loss is not to GTB alone but the nation. The style of GTB (which which I believe directly stems from the head) has always puzzled me. In a country and industry plagued with greed, opportunism, lucre-driven competition, and all the rest, they(he) remained sane, cool and focused and led GTBank to such an enviable stature. I never saw them(him) do things because it was the new shining thing or just because other banks are doing it. He demonstrated that Nigerians can run business with integrity and make huge success out of it. We just lost an exemplary leader, a hero.

@OAM4J

Aba! how can u say mimiko isnt performing? how many PDP governors have done better than him? have u visited Ondo state lately?

Always thinking before talking.

Many people didn't like Agagu because they felt he had too little to show for all the money (allocation) he was getting and I think they were correct. But in spite of all that, when I look back to the projects he did, I don't think Mimiko is doing any better, to put it mildly. Agagu seem to have quite more concrete projects to point at. Well I may be wrong. Also, too much of talk, less real big stuffs happening.
Business / Re: Can I Use Gtb Master Card To Buy Things On Clickbank? by temisafety: 11:23am On Oct 12, 2010
I'm afraid nothing can be done about it for now. Nigeria is not even listed there to start with. Ditto paypal. I,ve gone around asking what can be done and the answers are negative. So what I did was to ask a friend in the US to help buy what I wanted while I find a way to refund him. This was a bit cumbersome though because I needed to convince my friend to agree to use his card on an unfamiliar website, plus other concerns - a correct fear you'll agree. It can be very tough being a Nigerian, no thanks to the fraudsters in our midst.

Thanks guys, i finally phoned Microsoft for the activation and it's now working fine.
Computers / Re: Unable to Activate Microsoft Office by temisafety: 6:55pm On Oct 05, 2010
If all fails (and your copy is genuine), you can activate via telephone.
the telephone conversation is usually automated and when they verify that your
MS office copy is authentic, they will give you a set of activation keys that will work.

Ques: With the activation failing, does it still create a 'microsoft office' folder in program files? if it does , it should be deleted before you try again.

Also you can look in the registry to see if any MS office entries are there or even in control panel.
These can be removed\uninstalled but be careful with the registry as it modifications can stop your laptop from
loading windows.

hackney, I'm not techie enough to want to monkey with the registry again. It once landed me in serious mess.  However, i won't mind trying the other suggestions. it's a genuine copy and there is MS Office folder in programme files.

I HAVE AN OFFLINE INSTALLATION OF MICROSOFT OFFICE 2007

Nuel, could you please throw in some light about the offline one? I guess it doesn't require activation whether online or by phone, right?

Phones / Re: Whats Your Take(experience) On Chinese Phones by temisafety: 6:17pm On Aug 26, 2010
I bought DoradoC6000 some two years ago and was simply wowed by it's functions. I'd been using Sonyerricson P1i one year earlier (and still using it), but surprisingly, this small chinese phone shared quite a number of "smart phone" features with the P1i and the quality of some of those features is even better, eg sound recording. Of course some of the features are so wacky eg ring tone/volume. The only regret I've had with it is battery and charger which are not durable and to get good ones is so difficult(impossible). Otherwise I still have the phone and because of how much I loved it, I just bought Tecno T7, another chinese. This one has Java on it and so I've installed Bible, dictionary, etc. That is in addition to stuffs like TV, dual SIM and FM. I've been accessing facebook, twitter, etc on it!! Travelling has been a lot more fun siince I got it and at roughly 12.5k, i feel lucky to have bought it.

What I don't know yet is it's durability. I hope it lasts for like 2 years and it wd be really worth haviing! Their posters boldly claim 13 month warranty, but when you try to confirm this with sellers you easily realise that they don't mean it. So don't believe it.
Phones / Re: Is Etisalat's N15/per Min To All Networks A Ruse? by temisafety: 6:01pm On Aug 12, 2010
The N15 thin is working very well. Though it takes an unusually long time for a dialed number to connect, so you need to wait for something like half a minute after dialling. I've found the promo/service very useful and barely use MTN since I subscribed. Etisalat customer service too is much much much better.
