Dont let people put yu under pressure, your interview in two days time. The birth certificate you have is good to go.I bet you Lagos embassy can never disqualify you becos of that.So focus on getting your medicals tomoro and prepare well for possible interview questions that you may be asked.Even those that went with church birth certificate were accepted how much more you that have the one that has NPC written on it.I repeat NEVER STRESS YOURSELF ON THIS,YOU ARE GOOD TO GO with that birth certificate

If your birth certiciate has your parents name,your date of birth and your full names, you are good to go bro.You said it has NPC written on it abi,it must be the original NPC certificate and not NPC attestation so it very okay

Birth Certificates

You (and any family members immigrating with you to the United States) must obtain an original birth certificate issued by the official custodian of birth records in your country of birth, showing your date of birth, place of birth, and parentage Important Notice: All Immigrant Visa applicants must submit a long form original birth certificate. Short form birth certificates will not be accepted.

The certificate must contain the:

Your date of birth

Your place of birth

Names of both parents

Indication by the appropriate authority that it is an extract from the official records

Unobtainable birth certificates

If your birth record is not obtainable for any reason, a certified statement must be obtained from the appropriate government authority explaining why your birth record is unavailable. You must also submit secondary evidence such as:

A baptismal certificate that contains the date and place of birth, as well as both parents names (providing the baptism took place shortly after birth)

An adoption decree for an adopted child

An affidavit from a close relative, preferably your mother, stating the date and place of birth, both parents names, and your mother’s maiden name.

Note: An affidavit executed before an official authorized to take oaths or affirmations must also be provided. More specific information is available from the NVC.

If your birthcertificate has all the things mentioned above,you are good to go you dont need NPC anymore

If the Mosque can help you do it,no problem it would even be better that way

I dont think they would and like i said your children will be a plus.Since you applied married,they wont see it as fowl play.You can tell them you just collected for the purpose of the visa interview and that you never knew it would be asked before.Your wedding albums will also be a plus for you

Leripa: If the local govt birth cert carries the names of your parents, then you are good to go without the NPC cert.
@temmytanny used something like that and he got his Visa.

To be on the safe side,i would advice you get the dollars($330) from mallam but pls make sure u get it from accredited mallam ooo. Personally, i feel you will be relax if you have dollars with you than naira that you arent sure of the exchange rate at the embassy.But if you are going with naira,go with over 10k extra to be on safe side.

It doesn't sound right to me- and since your interview is thursday, I'll advice you to make sure your facts are right... Yes,he can have it.Once he takes it,they will document it and give him the sealed envelop.He may spend about 3hours in the hospital cos of this. I tought they supposed to request for his 2NL cos thats what they used to know when his interview will be so that they can speed up this for him.

You must do your interview withing the 3months of the police report,once you get your visa you are free. Though they could still be doing background checks on you.I wasnt asked police report when i got to US,only my medicals.I did my police report in DEC2011 and entered US in sept 2012

When i had my medicals at ikoyi the Doctor that examined me told me that my BP is slightly high, I pretended not to hear her and few minutes later she repeated same then i repied her. I told her she does not understand what it means to be in suspence for 4 months, America that like using that word "MAY".

your wedding album will also help cos pictures snapped today can be differentiated frm ones done 7years back.Check your wedding album and look for pictures that have historical background like calender dates or anything to show it was taken in 2006 when you wedded.If you cant get such,never worry.
Another alternative is to go to your IMAN(Mosque) and request for wedding certificate stating you married in 2006 but you just collected it in 2012.That will show you are truthful and thats what embassy wants. ALL THE BEST BRO....
