Can't we start manufacturing or own items? China did it the hard way, now we are banking on them for supplies.....this country is going backward instead of forward.

We did not pass through the industrialization phase, and this is what is killing us.....we should act now and try to manufacture most our goods locally or we would really start feeling it after the oil boom period.
