Getting scrutinized and criticized because the president’s wife showed up with a $2k Dior bag which was even a gift. If it was Nigeria, their stupid supporters will start giving numerous reasons why it makes sense for leaders and their partners to be using costly luxury items

In my perspective, the tradition of bride price has outlived its usefulness. Despite arguments about maintaining cultural respect, I perceive it as selling a child, and the specific price seems irrelevant. Even if the bride price is 19 naira, paying it before marriage feels like a purchase. Some argue for cultural preservation, but we've abandoned practices like killing of twins in the past; cultures should be flexible.

Kenn55:
Why should you let the president off the hook here? The degradation of Nigeria is primarily the fault of the president. To be fair to Tinubu, he wasn't the one that destroyed it as it started before him but he has contributed to bury it.
The major items that controls the health and viability of the country rests on the FG. The president presides over the monetary and fiscal policies which sets the tone for the economy which affects the states. CBN though independent reports to the president. When naira depreciates due to stupid policies that gives rise to inflation, it is not on the governors.

The president controls the police, army, dss and the entire security architecture etc. Not the governors. When farmers can't farm because of the massacre by terrorists in the middle belt which now leads to higher food prices, the fault is more on the president than governors cos governors don't control the armed forces. I can go on and on.

Unfortunately, our structure is the cause of this deep problems. We copied democracy from the west but applied it the wrong way due to greed. If we practiced true federalism then the governors would have more of the blame. Now they are hiding under the FG cos the FG is too powerful.
In the west like Canada and US, each state or province function like an independent country and in charge of its economy. No sharing of money from FG, it is the state that contributes money to the FG. The resources in each state is used for the state so every state is forced to develop it's own unique economy. In Nigeria, the states are useless cos there is oil money to be shared every month.

I'm not saying the governors are doing well, in fact, they are useless but as per your argument, the president shares the biggest blame in the current situation.

The guy no try at all.

He should have limited all his taste of luxury, both in buying a car, apartment, clothes, flexing, spending of family, blah blah blah to the 7 million on top.

If he won't japa with his 50 million, he should have used that to change his story for a long time.

Buy just a car for 16 million, shows the money is gone.

It's a sad story for me, because so many of his kind would not waste that opportunity
I hope he japa sha. If na me I for don dey make moves to run go Europe or Asia by now.

When someone votes the party in govt and he is suicidal or just lost a beloved one, Will a little call out in the moment of grief be appropriate as well?
It depends on the factors and variables at play. If the person is suicidal due to the actions of the government he helped ushered in, I'll castigate him.

Stop asking unnecessary questions, not everyone can be emotionally blackmailed.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by TemporaryHansel(m): 3:13pm On Dec 12, 2023
Two truths can coexist. That someone voted for tinubu doesn't mean I won't or shouldn't help him or her if he/she needs help, and I have the means to help. However I will always remind the person of his choice of voting Tinubu. Anyhow he or she wants to see it, that's not my problem.

Voting for Tinubu and not calling him out when he's not performing to expectations is fvcked up shit.

The fact that anyone thinks this little call out is mocking is why people some people will still be bold to keep voting APC and other bastards that clearly have no interest in improving the country.

There are Abokis on your street that voted APC. Do you daily spell out this same Consequence lessons to them too?
Yes. Whenever I see anybody that voted Tinubu I always spell it out.
My barber raised barbing fees , and I refused to pay him for one simple reason. Dude rigged for APC, he was even bragging with the $100 he was given. Especially for those who live in big cities, Fueling, children's school fees and house rent will easily take more than 200k from that 600 a month.

Feeding, clothing(especially for children who are still growing), car maintenance will take another 200k+

Family members, church activities, donations, can easily eat another 20-50k monthly.

There goes your 600k salary. If care is not taken, all you do is live from hand to mouth on 600k.
The people I even used in my example don't pay house rent. To let you know how worse the situation has gotten.

I don't want to be a pessimist, I just want tinubu to prove me wrong and come good.

Tinubu isn't going to come good. The same man who on the eve of the Osun state election in 2018 called the state allocation " chicken change too small for him" was never going to value money or be a prudent manager of our national wealth. He was always showing signs of being out of touch with the realities of the everyday Nigerian.

Nigerians would always adjust. A certain section are always ready to explain away the severe effect of bad governance as brought on by those Tinubu aligns with, and would always trickle-fliter pushbacks against bad governance as nothing more than wailings of those who didn't want Tinubu in power, never mind the socioeconomic realities and evidence.
Nigerians always adjust, yes. But can they adjust infinitely? I wonder. A time will come when they'll get tired of adjusting.

Gone are the days we use morro to judge people. Now you'll see someone driving a 17m car on empty stomach, can't even afford 50k.

May APC never happen to us in a second life( if it exists)
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by TemporaryHansel(m): 2:20pm On Dec 12, 2023
The country is finished. As at two years ago, people earning 500-600k monthly could be classified as okay. I know many people in this category, they were enjoying properly and keeping certain standards. Today, same folks cannot maintain the lifestyle they used to, and always complaining bitterly. If people earning 500k monthly are struggling I wonder how larride is coping.

Tinubu really needs to find a way to come good, because if things keep going this way I'm not sure Nigerians will be able to keep their much revered title of "adjusters". They will adjust to a certain point, and say no, we can no longer adjust. It's either you give us the good governance we want or we all go to the afterlife.

But how will someone who was recently sacked or relieved of his job, who prior to election, was jumping from dm to dm soliciting for funds.. now election.. went ahead to not only vote for,but vocally support the people that kept him and the country in same situation.. that is much worse than Stockholm syndrome..

It's not a bad thing to bring your predicaments to public view if you get overwhelmed, after all nobody is an island.. However, what larride was doing was akin to taking us for fools for one obvious reason.

Exactly. Their supporters will tell you that Nigeria is bankrupt, but the people they're defending are balling hard with same government money that we are supposed to be frugal with. Just as blueray said earlier, collect loans from foreign institutions loot everything, collect loans again, rinse and repeat. Buying new cars and all sort of unnecessary stuff every year, and they claim Nigeria is broke when the common man ask for his own share of the dividends.

Who are you guys speaking of? Larride I guess..

The issue with larride is that he keeps supporting these folks when he's obviously not gaining anything from that support. I don't understand how someone will support Buhari for eight years straight, and still go ahead to support Tinubu. Okay, Tinubu has been sworn in and you are seeing that this man is performing worse than Buhari already, making you poorer and yet you're still making excuses for him.
If larride was here now he would have found a way to defend the office of the VP paying for the bills accumulated by Tinubu's daughter.

In my opinion, anybody not directly benefiting from the fg that is supporting APC is extremely stupid.

I've been very close with politicians in real life, and one thing I take from most of them is they hardly invest and they spend money unnecessarily. That is why you see someone that looted hundreds of millions going broke within a few years.
They have this mentality that another appointment will come and more money will come. But then, in life things don't always go the way we want.

Chop I chop in GeJ's regime got to everybody. PDP members enjoyed the most, but even non-supporters can't say they were hungry. Everybody was carried along.

But this Tinubu regime is something else. Things are getting harder every day, most people have adjusted their lifestyle. If you observe properly you'll notice people don't live the same lifestyles they lived one year ago. This is not chop I chop, Tinubu is chopping us.
