hmm, My mistake actually. There IS an 8gb 3gs, it got released around when the iphone 4 came out. No such thing as an 8gb iPad, however ![]() Fhemmmy:You could be right. |
maedan:I disagree. Your statement may only just be valid in Nigeria where only an insignificant percentage buy smartphones with data plans. Virtually any other smartphone has a decent data plan (2 - 3GB monthly) to go with it. And some form of push email is supported on all the other smartphone systems too. The main draw for the BB is BBM. next is the email, but BBM is the main draw. |

seyibrown:You people can give crappy advice sometimes. The man may really love the woman, but he may really be physically put off by her weight. Is it so bad to tactfully encourage her to lose weight? Would he have been on her case about weight if it wasn't humanly possible to lose weight? At 27, she doesn't have too much time to fast and pray for husband when she has a good prospect right here. |

The engineers here do not seem to have a good unlock solution for even the iPhone 3Gs - the phones have to be unlocked every time the power cycles off!
That issue has been fixed months ago. Sack those 'engineers' ASAP and get ones that can use the internet. |
wholeblaze:your numbers ain't going through, bro. |
No sympathy for the poster here. All i see is his seeming inability to understand written English. At no time was he told that he had been placed on any data plan, and the message he received clearly informed him in English that his application was being processed and that he should wait for a notification. There's nothing to see here, folks. Move along. |

Just because YOU won't doesn't mean other will not. Tens of thousands of Nigerian soldiers put their lives on the line for Nigeria in Liberia. Nigerian peacekeepers are hunkered down in Darfur even as we speak, putting their lives at risk for the sake of their country. Stop being so dramatic.
What if Yaradua survived, can you imagine what will have happened to her?. At that time, Dora's popularity had hit an all time low and she had to jump ship. It was clear to all that Yar'Adua wasn't coming back in one piece anymore. Unless you want her to desist from rebranding Nigeria and allow us to stay put with our bad image.
Yes, we know how much it costs. Just like the Nigeria @ 50 website awarded to a shoddy Chicago based Nigerian company for well over 4 million Naira, a website so bland, so featureless that it would have been an insult to pay more than 1 million for it. We also know that throwing money at the rebranding project is a waste of time and resources. Haven't you seen that the whole thing seems to have died a natural death? Her campaign had absolutely NO EFFECT on our image. if it had, you think she won't have reported that instead of blabbing on about District 9 and Sony Playstation? |
I'm no fan of hers. All the hundreds of millions of Naira consumed in her thoroughly inane 'Rebranding' campaign, all to naught. When asked about her chief achievements as Information minister and the chief apostle of 'rebranding', what did your 'Amazon' say? Why, banning District 9 and forcing Sony to apologize. Being a leader in Nigeria is such a good thing! Nigerians have very low expectations and are all too eager to celebrate the mundane. |
ttjim1:You're selling it at N200,000 +. double the original cost price. Did you miss out on where he asked for a 'reasonable' price? Also, your continued insistence that you have the white iPhone 4 makes me feel you're a scammer. The white iPhone 4 has not yet gone on sale yet due to Apple's supply issues, and is apparently not going to go on sale for a while. @Topic I'm also interested in picking one up at a reasonable price. |
tpiah:No offence meant but you do know the meaning of the word 'violence', don't you? ![]() |
tpiah:She would have still been beaten for that. Stop pretending that you don't know this. The mosque entry magnifies the outrage, but the beating would have still been there. Do you know how many riots have been started based on rumours that people had used the Quran to wipe their butts, even in the safety of their homes? |
tpiah:Nothing smells fishy. The girl simply went overboard in her fervour for evangelism. Perhaps martyrdom was really what she sought all along. At least she did her disruption peacefully. More often than not, Muslims have registered their displeasure with Nigerian Christians with Machetes, hammers and shotguns. Funny how the Muslim students shouting of 'terrorism' were the only ones to actually use violence that day. Last i checked, terrorism by definition requires a violent act. |
If you see the way these Christian talk, you'll understand. They even have a "Let's Burn Quran" day coming up on the 11th of September. Just disgusting. Did God preach hate and violence? There was one time this lady with the "Islam is of the Devil" t-shirt kept violently stalking an Iraq-Muslim man with her Bible on the street.
That's freedom of expression for you. You win some, you lose some. If these freedoms weren't available, would the Muslims even dream of building a mosque in New York on Ground Zero? Would that be possible in Iran? In Israel? in Syria? In Saudi Arabia? The same freedom that allows a muslim community to attempt building a mosque on the site where thousands of Americans died at the hands of islamic extremists is the freedom that that woman and that church is exploiting. |
Look, we're done with castigating the girl now. The Muslim students now also the villains of this matter as far as i'm concerned. After beating up the young lady, why are the people who claim to be 'peace loving' suddenly making this an attack on Christianity? Why are they claiming there are 'religious leaders behind the girl'? Funny how people who claim to have been provoked are the ones carrying around inciting placards. So if the girl is really mentally disturbed, are they going to apologize for beating her up? Rubbish. |

What's the deal, resurrecting a 4 year old post? Jarus:Err, Gani's dead. Didn't you get the memo? |
@paddy_lo Are you seriously hoping that Nigeria becomes a one party state? Nothing will ever reform the PDP. The fact that you think people like Peter Obi and Fashola will have the slightest dent on the corruption that permeates that party is enough reason for me to believe you're kinda naive about the heady effect power can have on Nigerians. Don't get me wrong; i'll probably vote for Jonathan in 2011 (no better choice, doesn't mean he's a saint) but as long as one party continues to utterly dominate, the country will continue to be held hostage to the whims of a corrupt elite. |
Pictures speak louder than words https://www.muniwireless.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/worldwide-smartphone-sales-2Q2010.jpg In one year, Nokia's lost 10% of the smartphone marketshare. And things WILL get worse when WinMo 7 comes out. |
sexylogan:You're using a phone that even Nokia claimed was 'disappointing', a phone that was rightly slammed by most reviewers as being entirely mediocre. A phone with a slow, clunky UI, using a shamefully slow processor and a crappy resistive touchscreen. And you're still talking! Nokia's empire is crumbling slowly, and phones like the N97 are part of the reason. The N97 is nokia's current flagship device and it is completely outclassed by tons of Android phones out there, utterly killed by the iPhone and not even up to the HTC HD2. The only reason you stick to your Nokia phones is the complacency. You're too used to that outdated Symbian Interface that you're afraid to jump ship. You're too attached to your archive of java and .sis apps, all outdated and outstripped by the superior offerings on the Android and iPhone appstore. And WinMo 7 is looming. Nokia is losing this war. It'll be slow. But it'll happen. |
While I don't agree with the girl's actions ( in fact, I really hope the girl is expelled), it's ironic that the aggrieved group makes no effort to hide their willingness to go on rampage over the actions of just one misguided fellow. Ultimately, the girl should be expelled and prosecuted by the relevant law enforcement for attempt to cause a serious public disorder. However, the reactions of the Muslim students is beginning to veer towards the extreme. |
