i thot it sounded too pat, it was either the dude actually nows little, or he was trying to be clever, havent u seen people giving stories of how they forgot their system password?
well since the guy confirms he is a noob and he managed to get ubuntu on his system on his own etc, i think that answers your questions. lay off this winblows/linux thingy its stale jare!
My comments had nothing to do with windows/linux and everything to do with your snarky reply to the fellow, asking him if he was the real owner of the laptop.

It takes absolutely no effort to install Ubuntu in a single boot method for a newbie. Just put in the CD and follow the prompts. Why would you express surprise at him 'managing' to install Ubuntu on his own?

Me, stalking you? When last did i respond to any of your posts? Don't give yourself airs, boy.

Anyone who believes a cell phone call can ignite petrol fumes should go back to school ASAP.
This urban myth has been disproved time and time again, Mythbusters have taken time out to disprove this myth yet people keep circulating this?

As to the Original post, it's merely a chain mail. I received a similar email just yesterday (with the words changed a bit).

90% of the time, the real culprit is static electricity. However, there's always some dumbass nearby to blame the matter on mobile phones.

Because a fool will never ask you why you directed him to take an action.
Lord Lugard dream is born out of wickedness, he and his masters back then in Europe didn't want to see a united african kingdom, that was why he joined people with dissimilar interest together, fooling them to believe they are one.
The funniest thing is that the collective goons in Lord Lugard, dream country always refers themselves as one Nigeria, whereas they know deep inside them that they don't love each other
Can you people quit with the whining already? There are many countries around the world where dissimilar peoples have been joined together and are living and working together in peace.
I cringe anytime i see more of you people blaming Lord Lugard for their failings.

if Nigerians cannot take responsibility for the poor state of the nation, then there is no hope for us. If you like, blame Lord Lugard for the current fuel scarcity and Yar'Adua's absence. Nonsense.

So you're saying Ubuntu isn't 'noob' friendly?

4llerbuntu:
besides, did you install it on your own? if u truly did, how come u know nothing about your hardware? it didnt come with ubuntu so how come? what os was on it before?
Where did you get the idea that he knows nothing about his hardware? Isnt it the whole point of a decent OS that you can just stick in the install CD and get a working OS install in 30 mins? Especially if you aren't doing any fancy dual booting.

You seem all too eager to make these assumptions about the fellow.

Politics › Re: US Navy Ship Caused Haiti Earthquake by texazzpete(m): 9:57am On Feb 22, 2010
nex:
The way some people want to equate the benevolence of the USA Government with that of God is very alarming.

Please google and find out if the USA was not the first country to use the elements of nature in warfare. When they developed rainmaking technology and caused rain in Vietnam for months, how do you think they achieved that? Do you people even believe that the rainmaking technology was not first tested in Africa or South America before it was taken to the warfront?

Someone was trying to make ridicule that soon conspiracy theorists will claim the USA can make rain in the Kalahari. Of course they can! Israel too Silver Iodide and made snow in the middle east. China took same Silver Iodide and made rain to clear dust and smoke particles in the polluted atmosphere just before the Olympics. The question is why the USA is always trying to weaponize everything.

Someone else says the Haiti earthquake is 1000 times the bomb dropped on Nagasaki. Well, most of the nuclear bombs today are thousands of times more powerful than the bombs dropped on Japan. So?

This is the problem I always face everytime I visit Nairaland. Not ignorance from the ignorant, but ignorance among the educated and well travelled. Are people here trying to say that they first thought of an earthquake weapon before the US military thought of developing it? The Native Americans have been using rainmaking technology for hundreds of years, but the moment that US researchers laid hands on it, it was used as a weapon on Vietnam.

People are asking what there is to gain? When the USA tested the specific effects of nuclear fallouts on the people of the Marshall Islands, what did they stand to gain? Was it oil or clay or whatever resource? No! To find a victim on whom to test a multi-trillion dollar research weapon is enough to be gained.

When the US Military tested the effects of nuclear fallouts alone on the Marshall Islands, was it because of the clay there? Or because of the oil? Or simply because such a weapon just required guinea pigs in a third world country?

The USA will always have standby troops and good response time for another country, but when it's Louisiana or New Orleans, that's when they'll be handicapped and that's when they'll spend days and weeks and months trying to get aid through, and that's when their FEMA will be lost as to what to do, that's when the hand of the presidency would be slow to sign.

Now we hear that the USS Carl Vinson was already in Haiti within hours to start carrying out nuclear desalination of water. Feralination indeed! Or cleaning up any evidence? The eagerness of the USA in Haiti is nothing more than cleaning up the evidence and gathering specific onsite experiment results. Finito!
You too? I must say i'm not surprised, though.

Seeding clouds to create rain has been in existence since the 1930s. And the US use of rainmaking technology is merely the use of what has been known since the 1930s to prolong the monsoon rains merely to ensure that roads for heavy vietnamese trucks remain boggy and unpassable. Hardly the 'weapon' you insinuate it is. Oya, how lethal was this 'rain weapon'?

You display an unfortunate lack of reading skills. No one here claimed that the energy released by the earthquake was '1000 times the power of the hiroshima bomb'. El Razur said it's 1000 times the energy generation capacity of all the power plants on the planet! If you have difficulty reading, i can easily arrange for evening classes for you.

But let's humour you for a moment. let's assume the US drilled down into haiti's soil and detonated the most powerful nuclear device known to man. Oya, where's the telltale indications on the surface?

You bluster on and on about 'ignorant people'. You're a prime example.

But you're an amusing diversion. At least you didn't go on and on about H.A.A.R.P grin

I have to stop here and go off this thread so i dont start believing in some outlandish flights of fancy like this cock and bull story.
I guess i'm uneducated anyways. wink
Yes you are uneducated!! How can you say you don't know that it was the CIA that set Tiger Woods up with those girls? Don't you know that swine flu was a secret weapon created by the CIA to invade Mexico?
Didn't you notice that there was hardly any harmattan in Nigeria this year? That is H.A.A.R.P in action.

Okay, if you say the CIA is not doing all these, explain to me why they have not found BigFoot or the Abominable Snowman yet. Or are you saying you do not know that the Loch Ness monster is a CIA sleeper agent put there since 1648 to spy on Europe (yes, the H.A.A.R.P allowed time travel so that the CIA could go back in time to 1648)

How can you say that you don't know that the best place to get reliable news is from hastily created websites with dubious theories? And what is this 'Law of Physics' you're so fixated with: The CIA has long since surpassed such trivial things!!!

By the way, have you read 'Angels don't play this H.A.A.R.P'? It solves all problems in life, you don't even need to use your common sense after you read it!!

i know the history of haiti, i also know that the over 70% of haiti's economy is based on trade with the us. again there are far more cost effective ways to "take over" a country. especialy a country that would welcome you with open arms.

as for this so called weapon tell me this. the energy the earthquake produced is equal to 32 gigtons that is 1,000 times that relased in nagasaki. that much force applied on the surface would have created a shockwave that would have made tunguska look like a bad windstorm. the entire island would have been leveled. depending on the nature of said "weapon" there would have been a EMP, which there wasnt. that force applied on the surface to cause an earthquake would have left behind noticible ground distruptions, instead the plate shifted 8.1KM down with no ground disruption? this "weapon" would have caused compretion damage to buildings and trees, instead there was only vibration and sheer damage. did the us military find a way to negate the laws of physics and quantum mechanics as well?
Please do not appeal to them to use common sense. They've abdicated all claims to having that a long time ago.

Do not talk about the laws of Physics. As far as they are concerned, the 'CIA' is more powerful than Physics and have conquered all such laws.
Hurricane machines? Check. Earthquake weapons? Check. UFOs? Check!

THey are so dumb that if any of those hastily scrawled websites 'confirms' and 'reveals' that the CIA has mastered Faster-than-light travel, they'd believe that with ease.

I've begged them (especially pcmecon) to explain how a so called 'weather weapon' that works on transmitting high-frequency waves into the ionosphere can move tectonic plates with no surface impact. Instead of wracking their brains, guess what they do? Provide yet another web link with similarly wild allegations.

why is BBC trying to single out nigerians. The U.S. media a long time ago told people to beware of scammers on the haiti stuff. It's not just nigerians, if the story is even true. Nigerians are always villified with the scammer stuff as if they are the only ones that do it. Aren't there americans, europeans that create these fake websites that look like the real company so that they can steal your information and go on shopping spree with you name and info? What about all the identity theft that happens?   They need to just stop trying to purposefully blame nigerian all the time
Perhaps it's only the Nigerian group they were able to trace effectively? I mean, how many scammers do you know with any sort of acumen in online security?

Colombians aren't the only ones in the drug trade, but they are now the poster child of drug traffickers. I'm pretty sure when you think organized crime, your mind goes to the italian mafia. So too is Nigeria now the poster child for 419 scams. heck, the name '419' comes from Nigeria!
