Go over to the Technology market section, there's a guy called ittechventures that scammed quite a number of people. See if u can find him, then i'll believe ![]() |
oyb:hmm, that's your lenovo, right? |
4llerbuntu:You need a lappie with compatible hardware. or you could build a desktop with compatible components.# do a google search like 'OSX on (insert laptop name and model)' and see what that gets u. On the Nairaland tech market i've got a dell netbook with Win 7 and OSX Snow Leopard dual boot for sale if you're interested. |
4llerbuntu:explain to me one more time how Microsoft makes a dime from the Antivirus companies. Microsoft has everything to gain from minimizing the threats from viruses and other malware. PS: Snarky words like 'M$', 'Micro$oft' and 'schteve' are exclusively used by teenage fanboys these days. It doesn't portray you in any good light at all. Instant down-rank on Engadget et al when you use 'em |
4llerbuntu:There's no 'bill' at Microsoft these days. Didn't you get the memo? |
The major issues with Macbooks are the price tags, and the inferior hardware. And before anyone takes issue with me over that last point, yes i know the unibody build quality is excellent. but there's no excusing the mediocre GPUs, lack of SD card slots until the most recent versions, the non-removable batteries and the annoying need to purchase dongles just to connect a standard VGA projector or HDMI device. When you add to that the poor state of Mac gaming in general, I can't see the Macbook as a compelling choice for me at the moment. I've hackint0shed a couple of Dell netbooks and played around with the OS. It's pretty interesting and kinda cute. But i think that's all it's got going for it over Windows 7, which is every bit as stable. I'll probably get a Mac mini which can also moonlight as my HTPC to properly put the OS through its paces. |
@Chuckdee, Phony200 Thanks for the words of support, to be honest i am still somewhat bitter over the whole thing. You'd think that with a post count of 3800+ i'd be insulated from these kinda accusations. Phony200, you're right about the price being negotiable. I love to tinker with new stuff, but my wife isn't too thrilled with me amassing too many gadgets, so i've got to sell this one off. I'm even making plans to get another one to try and triple boot with OSX, Ubuntu and Win 7. I may probably keep that one (if the wife lets me )The funny thing about this saga is that when the Tech Market was first launched, i took the initiative of contacting Seun to sticky a thread i made about referrals to prevent scammers from taking advantage of gullible people here. It's no longer stickied, but you can find it here https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-88024.0.html Never knew i'd one day be accused of being one of the bad guys ![]() Chuckdee, If this topic ever gets stickied again, i'll gladly give you a referral for the PS3 i bought from ya.

These criminals with their delusions of grandeur. Which one be 'occupying Nigerian state' again? Anyway, we all know it takes cojones to blow up defenseless pipelines. |
Remember all the people killed also by the MEND millitants. Even the navy and army personnel on guard duties cut down by these folks deserve to be remembered too. |
@yehman, Anambra has missed a true gem but thats not the issue here. I have been waiting for all of peter's fan to explain the reason why thousands of Anambarians name weren't found in INEC REGISTER while they posses a valid voters card. With this is INEC competent of organising the 2011 general elections? It has also been reported that election monitoring agents of APGA were giving out money to electorates who vote for peter. This movie isn't yet over. Peter fans don't rejoice much!
Since when did the conduct of INEC become the business of Peter Obi? And who told you that the disenfranchised Anambra voters would not have voted overwhelmingly for Peter Obi? Thank God the people of Anambra state showed more intelligence than you're displaying. Why would they vote for a candidate from the same party that plunged Anambra into the sorry state it was when Obi took over? |
egift:So just because the PDP lost, they were the sweet, gentle party that failed to rig, abi? If you truly believe that the same party that poured over a billion naira into soludo's campaign, massed tens of state governors and invited attracted greedy godfathers like Anenih and Offor would hesitate to rig an election, then there's no hope for you. And yes, slighting the PDP is enough incentive for the good people of Anambra. In fact, it's a good enough incentive for any Nigerian. But i don't expect you whiners to see that. You're every bit a part of the corrupt rot that's dragging Nigeria down. You're right about one thing. Nigeria does have a long way to go. But with this, at least the first small step to salvation has been taken. |
Been off the radar for a while, here are some screenshots
|
Hmm, don't know where you people get your news from, but it seems that PDP's getting a whole lot of second place finishes, with AC and APGA alternating between first and third. Apparently the gameplan is for PDP to win in the overall total count. 234Next reports a massive amount of rigging. A reporter friend of mine on ground in Anambra insists that contrary to mikeansy's propaganda, the PDP has been neck deep in the rigging. Soludo's PDP may sneak in, after all. We'll know, soon enough. |
@Mikeansy Since this whole saga started, you've been effusive in your praise for the PDP and past parasitic godfathers like Anenih and Emeka Offor. No matter how this election goes down, you have taken a shameful stand indeed, and it's becoming clear that you have more than a passing interest in Soludo winning the elections. I mean, you're here spouting PDP propaganda that even the official PDP spokesman would struggle to match ![]() |
Damibanti:I already called you. PHC, remember? |
Sam Milla:Pretty ironic, when you consider the fact that 70% of the topics you've opened (and the questions you subsequently ask) are rather silly ![]() |
This is what I've been saying since. We complain about slavery yet we treat our house helps with disdain and cruelty. |
mikeansy:You grow increasingly more shameless in your support for PDP as the election approaches. However, my Anti-PDP attitude is not based on any 'conjectures', but on the way and manner this corrupt and bloated mega-party has run Nigeria. The Yar'Adua saga unfolding at this very moment is a glaring example of how the PDP has taken Nigeria for a ride. The burning ambition of any true Nigerian patriot should be to weaken PDP enough to allow a credible opposition to be able to challenge all the morally dubious calls that this party makes, that is the way to move this country forward. Until then, we'll remain fixed in this mess, held hostage by the whims of this party of egoistic thieves. The fact that you can come here pretending to be pro-democracy, yet happily crave a situation where there is no credible opposition - that's pretty hilarious. |
ec3l:Some of us would rather believe in God, not our Pastors. @Poster This is a truly amusing story, if you like go pay your money to the Pastor. When you start sleeping under the bridge, don't say we didn't warn you. |
aisha2:Hey, how do i contact you? I'd like to discuss a few things with you. antartica:What he meant to say was that the phrase 'jewel in a swine' is essentially meaningless and thus is gibberish. You could try "Jewel in a pigsty". |
These TVs are ancient! |
@bigrovar The scarcity of maemo apps is a dealbreaker for me. The platform needs to mature a little, just like what the iPhone went through. Played with the phone for a while, not bad, slightly thick hardware and i've seen better keyboards. Shows a lot of promise, though. hopefully Nokia can further refine the OS, improve app support and use a more eye-catching design in the future. |
Genuflect:You're gonna wean yourself off symbian OS someday, it may as well be now. |
Is that 500 naira or 5000? Confirm. |
256MB RAM, not 1GB. correct your post! |
That's a good price, I'll refer a couple of people to this! |
Inspired! Glad to see you're still going on strong in 2010. |
mikeansy:I don't know about you, but I am a Nigerian. What happens in Anambra state has repercussions even in other states. I don't care how 'worried' you are, as long as it is a Nigerian state it concerns every Nigerian who chooses to make it his business! mikeansy:So you're going to resort to this excuse, huh? You've been castigating Chris and Andy Uba on this forum for a while, in how many law courts were they found guilty? If you feel there's nothing wrong with the likes of Anenih et al simply because they haven't yet been brought to justice, then it shows on which side of the divide you stand. I think at this point you're merely looking for an excuse to dine with the devils. mikeansy:It's not just for the law, sonny boy. It's about doing what is right, about doing the proper thing. When you're campaigning to lead people, it's a serious faux pas in any decent society to be seen 'palling around' (apologies to Sarah Palin) with the very corrupt elite that have bedeviled Nigerian for a long time. Kindly explain how some of us 'have no respect for the law'. Don't just say anything just to sound intelligent. Are 'personal interests and emotion' mutually exclusive from having respect for the law? |
@Omnipotens http://www.mydellmini.com/forum/dell-mini-10v-mac-os-x-discussion/8694-mini-1011-mini-10v-os-x-info-updated-audio.html and a YouTube video showing what I'm talking about https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fNURA-P1ZBs google up 'osx86' if you really want to know more. And next time I suggest you send me a pm. I've passed up untold millions of Naira in my Insistence on making an honest living, so I deeply resent this public accusation. Just do something about all the other people complaining legitimately of being scammed in this tech market and don't take sides with your 'apple marketer' friend. |
OmniPotens:You can start by reading my post first. I've stated that this is a Dell netbook with windows 7, modified to also run a legit copy of OSX. Why would you be checking the Apple website for any product detail? Check my post count and my posting history before you start insinuating anything silly. I find the mere mention of 'scam' in connection with me to be extremely offensive. There are over 10 posts from itechventures on the tech market homepage, with at least 3 people complaining failure to deliver even after payment. I wonder why you haven't tackled that instead of coming here to accuse me of a 'scam'? I demand an explanation, as well as a firm statement that your objections are not based on any bias from your apple marketer friend. If I sound offended, it's because I am. PS: there's no such thing as an 'Apple Marketer'. All retail from Apple is done officially through Apple Stores and through the Apple website. There is no official Apple Store in Nigeria, and anyone who calls himself an Apple Marketer is in no way affiliated with Apple Inc. |
mikeansy:And you still haven't told us why Soludo turned a blind eye to the rot in our banking system, why he actively colluded with the disgraced CEOs, how his inaction (in spite of glaring evidence that all was not as rosy as he had painted it) has led to the near-collapse of several banks, with the loss of jobs of thousands of youths. MAny people are jobless today because Soludo sacrificed the safety of our economy on his political ambition. Soludo did well with the consolidation early on, but he lost the plot. You still havent told us why Soludo sees fit to accept campaign monies from the same vultures that have bled Anambra dry in the past couple of years. You still have not said why your idol romps around town with the likes of Anenih and Emeka Offor. I look upon you people with pity. I would have thought that the experiences from Prof Adenike Grange, Prof Borishade and Dr Sam Egwu would have told you that academic excellence does not equal or amount to political excellence. It's a pity, really, to see people go down this path. By all means, vote for SOludo. Just don't EVER let me see you on Nairaland talking about revolution in Nigeria. |
