God damn these heartless students. Yes, it's fair to protest the unfair hike in school fees. But burning down supermarkets and filling stations where innocent Nigerians are trying to eke out an honest living? That's plain evil, and I hope the police can fish out the ringleaders for severe punishment. |
I can understand when misguided and illiterate almajiris go on rampage, killing people on an ethnic and religious basis. We can say they are misguided, controlled by the powerful educated northern elite. It confounds me to no end when educated people like EzeUche above display tribalism and ethnic bias. Unlike the almajiris, you have absolutely no excuse for this form of deranged myopia. We come from a negroid race that was enslaved by first the Arabs, then the caucasians for profit. These slave masters were able to justify slavery with the excuse that our race was inferior in all aspects. Yet now we have exchanged racial superiority for tribal superiority - and we do not realise that both are similar evils. Pathetic. |
agathamari:You haven't exactly been giving mature, 5-star advice here, have you? Helping him in a mature, decent way is also helping him save his marriage. He's already struggling with guilt, why does piling on more guilt seem like an intelligent idea to you? |
I think it's pathetic how we're all coddling someone who's been nursing a grudge for 13 years, perhaps unfairly. he cheated on her before marriage, as long as she's got no evidence that he's cheating on her again, why would the thought of 'getting back at him' be in her mind? The person who's clearly the villain of this piece is the OP. In front of the altar you took a pledge to remain faithful to your husband, and to love him unconditionally until you die. Yet here you are, mentally ready to break that pledge on a whim - and you expect us to feel sorry for you?! IF you catch him cheating, it's a different story. until then. . . Livvvvy: Nwaka77:For the love of Mike, did you dimwits even bother to read the original post before jumping to conclusions? The bitterness is strong in these ones. |
edwin101:Apart from corruption, one of Nigeria's main problems is overpopulation. We have too many mouths to feed and too few resources (after the corrupt guys get through with the national cake) to go round. Nigerians like yourself with low mental acuity and a critically low IQ can do us all a favor by buying a stout length of Hemp rope, locating the nearest tree and hang yourself. Re'tard. |
Beaf:I'm really apprehensive about these Chinese people. |
pcmecom:The fact that the US has not been too keen in the past to cut down on sources of greenhouse gases should show you that your theory of 'western nations' is pretty flawed. I always find it funny when you constantly insist that you aren't a conspiracy theorist. The lies of one man does not mean that there is no genuine threat of global warming. And why the burning need to turn climategAte into the failings ofseveral nations, instead of the sins of a few scientists? |
master2:On what grounds are you guys being arrested on? If you're just moving at night on Okada, then try not to carry anything that may draw attention to yourself. Whenever i drive at night, i make sure i've got all my documents and vehicle papers intact and i handle the Police in a calm, polite and firm manner so they realize that i'm not one to be pushed around like that. |
@pcmecon I will ignore the obvious fact that you copied and spared this description from a website, a definitely one with a conspiracy theory slant. More importantly, you have failed to show how this scheme that sends high frequency waves upwards into the atmosphere is capable of causing a 7.0 magnitude earthquake. And with enough precision to be able to move the absolutely massive tectonic plates with enough precision to target Haiti's capital. And this is where you people fail. Your theories fail the common sense test. |
Shoot2Kill:Why do you keep exposing your ignorance to the world? So you expect to see tectonic plates on the surface, abi? I had my suspicions based on your writing style and your subpar reasoning skills, but this confirms that your secondary and tertiary education was not well delivered. Unlike Nigeria, the US has troops on standby ready for rapid deployment. Considering the fact that Haiti is pretty close to the US, why raise alarms? Did you expect it to take three months? |
pcmecom:I ask for a description in your own words, and you quote Wikipedia? Now, let's walk through this together pcmecom:You see those links you posted? All of them show arrays of antennas pointing upwards, and all of them agree that HAARP's modus operandi is to energize the ionosphere. Now, with your knowledge of JSS3 Geography and at least a basic grasp of Physics, kindly explain how radio frequency waves directed at the atmosphere can cause a significant enough movement of the massive tectonic plates to register a magnitude 7.0 earthquake. And for once, answer the darn question instead of dodging. |
Sheesh!! Imagine having to explain plate tectonics to people who really should know better. Didn't any of you take Geography in secondary school? You all did, didn't you? it's a core subject. That's why you need to pay attention in class when you're being taught stuff. |
MCLOVIN:I've asked the question of you people several times, but none of you is bold enough to take up the gauntlet. Don't point me to any shitty link, tell me what you understand by 'HAARP technology'. In your own words. As Wikipedia puts it, the HAARP project is the holy grail of conspiracy theories! PS: While it's relatively easy to create a tidal wave or tsunami by displacing water though a large explosion, it is almost an exercise in futility to move a tectonic plate to cause an earthquake. |
dejiariyo:How does the Pfizer drug test mean that HIV, Swine Flu et al are man made? Was Pfizer's Trovan a virus? See the person calling others 'unintelligent'. here you are claiming 'thousands of deaths' whereas in the link you provided, it clearly shows that 11 people died. Either you're a shameless liar, or you're just plain unintelligent. Frankly, i think it's a mix of both. The first DETECTED case of AIDS was in America. It doesn't mean that people hadn't been dying of the disease elsewhere before people caught on to it. Do you know how many people die in Nigeria of unknown causes, with their deaths being ascribed to 'fever'? So apparently, your point is that Pfizer (aka 'the Americans' in your twisted mind) came deliberately testing Trovan in Nigeria. Are you aware that Trovan was on sale commercially in the US to up to 300,000 patients monthly? So the Evil Americans even went as far as selling the 'deadly drugs' to kill their own citizenry, abi? dejiariyo:So a huge passenger plane slams into a building at hundreds of miles per hour, yet you're expecting to find perfectly cut delta wing or tail-fin marks, abi? Just when i thought you people couldn't get more pathetic, you lower the bar yet again! |
Gamine:anything for you, mon ami! |
Igbanibo:you've seen 'documentaries', huh? Oya, share with us the principle behind tectonic movement due to energization of the ionosphere. I wonder why we no dey see earthquakes anytime there is a solar flare? |
@Shoot2Kill so you admit you have no idea on what causes an earthquake. Good. Now, you and pcmecon should take up the gauntlet I dropped. Tell us what you think HAARP is. Tell us in your own words, not the usual links you copy from these cookie-cutter conspiracy theory sites and claim as 'evidence of truth' |
pcmecom:Why don't you start by explaining to us what you think HAARP means? Take up this challenge now! |
Snowwy:This is the same thing you people use to confuse others into parting with their hard earned cash. in all your lengthy writeup, you talked about TITHE, FIRST FRUITS and SOWING SEEDS. I see absolutely nothing about Charity, even when JEsus and the first Apostles talked constantly on the need for love and charity for the suffering. This is why Christianity in Nigeria is fast losing the plot. |
pcmecom:Why do you feel the need to just post any dubious piece of information you see on the internet? And why exactly do you frequent all these sites? All these links you post have something in common; they are always poorly designed, always full of spurious information. |
So the US wants to keep haiti poor, eh? So how does that dovetail with the fact that the US has been the biggest source of foreign aid to Haiti for the past 2 decades? Or the fact that the US is in the fight to ensure haiti's debt is cancelled completely? So the UN was looking for an excuse to send troops to haiti. Did your friends at your favourite conspiracy websites not tell you that there have been over 8000 UN troops in haiti since 2004? Did they tell you that even there, there were some slums in haiti the police and the UN forces did not dare to enter due to the danger, and any incursion there was only when supported by armoured vehicles? So if in 2005, there were large groups of armed gangs that roamed the streets, how much more in 2010 when more people are desperate, resources are few and the entire prison populace is now loose due to the damage to the prisons? As a wise man once said, "There are none so blind as those who will not see"! |
pcmecom:Exactly why obsessive conspiracy theory is a mental illness. You display acute paranoia, and (in your own words) a desperate desire to 'understand what is happening behind the scenes'. Only thing is, there's usually nothing out of the ordinary happening behind the scenes. You say HAARP was the cause of the Haiti earthquake. Yet not one of you people have wondered why a 'weapon' that is designed to pulse ionizing rays into the ionosphere was supposedly fired and still no reported atmospheric disturbances, no drastic weather changes, no disruption in communications, NOTHING. None of you wonder that this makes no sense from a geology and physics point of view. Your proof? unverified postings from conspiracy theory websites. |
@Shoot2kill This is the 21st century now, and oil and gas exploration is done by not only Governments, but also by massive multinational companies whose only allegiance is to their shareholders and their bottom line. If oil was in Haiti to that extent, what would have kept away Shell, Chevron, Total, Exxon Mobil et al? Funny how the only references to this Haitian husband and wife 'scientist' team are from this one article in a Haitian newspaper. The only photo of them is standing in front of the logo of the newspaper. His scientific 'study' can be found nowhere. Of course, this didn't stop this nonsense from being posted on over 40,000 blogs and kook sites, all of them referencing each other as the 'source'. Gotta love the internet, every time i see one of you on Nairaland post stuff as brainless as this, it helps me identify one more re'tard. |
Shoot2Kill:From THOSE websites? Truth? More like crazed rambling. |
dejiariyo:And how does a mythical weapon that supposedly 'heats up the ionosphere' cause a massive tectonic movement? Do you re'tards even know what an earthquake is? So the US supposedly fired this magical weapon that 'heated up the ionosphere'. Care to explain why absolutely no weather or atmospheric anomaly was detected by any weather agencies? And if the ionosphere - the conductive layer of the atmosphere - was energized so violently, why no disruptions reported in satellite signal quality, why no drops in GPS signals? Why no surges or spikes as usually seen when the ionosphere is energized by Solar flares? Please, gentlemen, some common sense is required here. Now we know those who were sleeping during Geography and Physics classes in secondary school. |
Anybody who believes this crap should go back to Primary school immediately. What weapon would cause an earthquake of that magnitude? Even a nuclear explosion would not be enough to cause significant tectonic movement. Why are some of you so daft to swallow the craziest theories from conspiracy theorist sites? I am extremely disappointed, and this only confirms my initial impression of Shoot2kill as a person of extremely limited intellect. Even SS1 students know how earthquakes come about. It's okay for you guys to be anti-american, just don't be dumb Nigerians while you're at it. |
Look, i lost as much as most of you in the stock market crash (read: millions). But i still have a brain. And i know where blame is due in this matter. Truth be told, many of you Sanusi haters are driven by religious or ethnic bias. |
PapaBrowne:Up until Enron crashed, were the workers not being paid salaries? All the banks that went under in the US, did they fail to pay salaries? Were there any stories of Lehman Bros failing to 'pay salaries and build more branches' in the months before the collapse? See the kind of question a so-called economics specialist is asking. This only goes to show you armchair critics really are clueless. See the |
slyfoxxjoe:I beg to differ. Was it not the same Obama that drew criticism during the campaign for insisting that he'd talk to the 'enemies' if that would bring peace? is it not the same Obama who is amenable to reaching out to moderate members of the Taliban if that could end the war in Afghanistan early enough, and if that could help keep out the infinitely worse Al Qaeda? if Obama can dialogue with the North Koreans (with their human rights record), why not IBB? The oil is not the main thing here - the US can get oil elsewhere if pressed to the wall. Besides, there is no credible reason for Obama to feel the supply line of oil from Nigeria is threatened. it is far more important to prevent Nigeria falling into chaos, a situation that Al Qaeda would be all too eager to exploit. if you thought Somalia was bad, wait until what happens in Northern Nigeria if/when this nation of 150 million people collapses. To bring peace in Iraq, the Americans now know they must reach out to the disgruntled but influential members of Saddam Hussein's baath party. Why would they now sideline a figure as influential as IBB for such critical talks? But this is nairaland. And you people need an excuse to mention the CIA - your boogeyman - as the source of all your problems. Pathetic. |
Vigasimple You must be my hidden twin, because you took the word out of my mouth. The only true revolution in Nigeria is to vote out the PDP. Vote them out at all levels, in the Senate, House of Reps, Local Government Council, everywhere. Nigeria's main problem is that we're a one-party state at the moment. And this must end! |
The hilarious thing is that not one of you has the slightest idea on the agenda the US rep will be discussing with Babangida. So why jump to conclusions? As for those who feel the world will be better off having the Chinese as the sole superpower, i laugh in Etsako!! |
@Shoot2Kill When making your points, can't you at least TRY and sound intelligent? Anyway, the article clearly says IBB and other influential politicians will be contacted. Singling out IBB was merely to generate a sensationalist headline. Finally, no matter how many rabid, paranoid fantasies you have about the CIA, it's obvious that America's main concern is not with the oil, but the long term stability of Nigeria. An unstable Nigeria will be a massive breeding ground for the next generation of Islamic terrorists. And no-one wants that. |

why advocate democracy then send your assistant secretary of state to meet with the worst tyrant known in nigerian history? any negotiations beetwen the US and nigeria should be done with the current president or foriegn affairs minister not a past leader and a corrupt one for that matter!, they should respect our constitution and soveriegnty enough to relate with us the formal and appropriate way!, i love obama a lot but i think he is begining to make some realy silly decisions.
