all i'm waiting for is for Epic to release Unreal Tournament 2007. I just hope my laptop can render Unreal Engine 3 at at least 1024 x 768 and most of the effects still in place.

I Think Crytech are Czech or some other Soviet-bloc country like that. read up on them, these guys just came from nowhere, persuaded nvidia to let them show off their engine ( i think e3 2002) and that was it. The engine they showed off became Far Cry. I've been playing that game and i see why it won 2004 best pc game (gamespot).

I've got a bigger problem; I can't bring myself to play Doom 3. i'm ashamed to say i'm kinda scared to play it ever since one being/monster/multiple-headed demon thingy snuck up on me in a tight corner and started screeching and swiping.

I remember back in 2002. playing silent hill on the ps1. whenever the last person left the house, i'd turn off the machine instantly. was too petrified to play it alone.

Please tell id software et al to stop making creepy games!

Only thing good about an Ngage was the speed with which new games were ripped and placed online. Not sure i'd have survived my NYSC without it. Playing Asphalt Urban GT, splinter cell et al was a good way to pass the time.

dunno if that was a wise move, i mean, both companies haven't been able to establish dominance in each of their respective fields. nvidia is still *slightly* inthe lead and intel still is inthe lead over AMD.
as far as i know, seems like intel's dealing with AMD by making new, powerful chips as cheap as AMDs latest. Thus AMD can't play that cheap card again.
I'm just fed up with all the new changes sha. I bought an Intel Core Duo laptop just recently and now the idiots have just released Core 2 Duo. Guess which one is more powerful

With the price of the ps3 pegged at $600 (forget abt the other configuration) starting up is always gonna be a stretch for John Q. Public out there. But that isn't what gonna bring on the pain.
With the enhanced graphics power, people out there wanna see photorealistic stuff, and that drives development costs up. how many small studios can afford to develop a top-flight games for the Ps3?
Word's out ont he street that ps3 games may cost up to $60. I believe that's what x360 games go for.
then we have the wii. go through online forums, you'll find that the cheap price is drawing crowds to it in droves. It doesnt cost more to develop a game for the wii than the game cube. and nintendo is giving out the Development Kits for the wii at just $10000. Dont even try to guess how much sony offers the Ps3 kit.
Wii games are tentatively pegged at $40 each. see the price difference?
Over the holiday periods inthe US and the UK, most copnsoles are bought as gifts. how many middle class american parents will pass over a $199 console and get a $600 console for their kid as an xmas or bday gift?

At least Microsoft will announce a price drop oin the 360 when the ps3 comes out, but even the most optimistic analysts don't see sony dropping the price of the ps3 by any appreciable extent for aeons to come.

to an extent i agree with u. naijans are graphics whores and i dont think the wii will catch on over here. unless it has winning eleven. but then i doubt it. nigerians dislike change!!

just checked. . . it's sold out. there are other converters though, but this one is the best. watch that space.

Downloaded the prey demo, fantastic graphics, havent played that far to review the gameplay yet,

BTW, from what i hear without a HDTV the next gen consoles won't look that much better than current-gen systems. Anyone here own an x360? how does it look on normal TVs?

If u got any probs playign the game, lemme know. it's protected by Securom Technology so u need 2 use daemon tools 4.03 to mount the imae and then use securom loader v 1.2 to run it. All of these are included in the package u download,

At E3, the Wii had a record number of people on the line, waiting to play it. far far more than the ps3 and x360 put together. Most of the impressions say ppl had fun using it for FPS and madden 2007. perhaps the controller needed a little more fine tuning, but at least it shows potential.
i'm a nintendo fanboy, but ill probably get a ps3. Winning Eleven Probably wont comeout on the Wii, so there i go.
as for your talk about the allure of graphics, why doesn't the same logic apply to the Nintendo DS vs the PSP. You have the DS with a Gfx power barely above N64 level and the PSP with power almost on par with the ps2. Yet the DS (old and Lite edition) is outselling the PSP badly.

On another note, i've been following this discussion for some time and i only wish the lamers who spout the "video games are for kids" line would see the amount of reasoning power some of u guys bring to bear in these pages.
As for me, i'm lookin forward to playing Winning Eleven 32 with my grandkids

I agree th elist of files can be quite daunting, but i downloaded all of them in one day. What i did was to download about 10 at the same time, they'd finish in about 10 mins max, then id run the other 10 and so on. kept nippin gin and out of work to check on them. I'm a DMC freak, all the way!!

Aw c'mon man. 1998 JAMB was a roll in the hay compared to 1997 jamb. Highest in naija was like 269 (or 271). Only about 5% of my classmates crossed d magic 200 mark. yours truly limped home with 207. 1998 JAMB had far better results.

DMC3 looks horrible and plays slowly, resident Evil 4 is playable (barely) at 14fps average. As u can see, it looks damn gorgeous,

still maintain mobil pays higher than shell, but i wouldnt trade it for all d world. There's all sorts of benefits you get in shell and chevron. the shell free medicals & flights for you and ur entire family cannot be beaten.

Schlumberger international mobile staff are far better paid, being pad in dollars and all, but then again they can't be said to fall under the scope of Nigerian jobs, can they? The Nigerian workers earn slightly less than the major oil companies.

Bottom line is, Oil companies pay well. period!

Well dakmanzero, I'll agree with you considering the points you made in your reply, but you know that there are some great kick ass games on console you can't find on PC (like the fighting games which you said is a special case even which is fine, but you can't beat the experience of such games like the mortal kombat series, tekken, dead or alive e.t.c. i love fighting games) and that brings me to your counter challenge on mention 5 kick-ass console games that are NOT firstparty titles, and are not on the PC (or confirmed coming for PC) as well as their host console.

1. Ninja Giaden Black (though not a first party game but it's xbox exclusive, rated 9.4/10 by gamespot)
2. Mortal kombat Shaolin Monks (which is an adventure fighting game, rated 7.5/10 by gamespot)
3. Destroy all humans (rated 7.5/10 by gamespot)
4. Mercenaries (I've played this game and it's good, rated 8.8/10 by gamespot)

despite the clock speed, the dual core processor make this more powerful than a p4-D 3.8 ghz (using sandra 2005 benchmark)

yet i couldnt get really good speeds in the emulator.

If u had done a little reading before lettign out so much hot air, you'd have found out that the Golden ball award is awarded by the media. Just like the world fottballer of the year award is decided by coaches et al, FIFA does not carry out any selection process.

then we see zizou walking away, smiling.

At this point, matarazzi said zidane gave him an arrogant look, lookd him up and down and told him he could have the shirt after the match if he wanted. Watch the video. no such arrogant look!!

post ume's the best thing to happen to nigerian universities. In my alma mater, Uniben they do it so well, all the cheats and lightweights are screened out.
funny enuff, it actually gives y'all more of a chance to enter the courses u want. if u score 220, without the post ume how could u compete with the cheats that score 310? this way, if ure a genuine smart guy, the post ume screens all those with the fantastic scores, giving u a chance to get in the course u want.
y'all stop worrying. i heard the exam is basically easy, if uve got reasonable brains. If ure a cheat, worry on!

And FYI, i got in straight after NYSC. so did 55 others with not a shred of experience in the O & G business.

Just for the record, it isn't 'all kinds of tests'. it's just ONE test and ONE interview. And it's pure merit, no whiff of connection at all.
