You weren't..one of you would have given up his/her creed to be with the other, whether Anglican or catholic you still practice christianity.

Husbands give up their church to attend their wife's and vice versa.

if it is the love aspect i dont have to prove or defend that to u.

But when it comes to beliefs, some people hold their beliefs too strongly and wont trade it for anything.

I am the typical african/igbo dude who believe a woman should be where her partner is while she is one who holds stongly to her belief because she wants her kids baptized in the catholic church.

So keep the u were not in love bla bla bla aside bae

You don't want to change your mind, she doesn't want to change hers.

You should know that...the both of you were never inlove.

A woman has no church till she is married

And we were in love.

She is just too catholic than the pope
Romance / So A Spouses Church Denomination Can Cause Break Up In A Relationship? by ThatIgboBoy: 9:46pm On Feb 15, 2017
I promised myself never to post this here since she is an avid nairaland guest and probably might see this but i dont care anymore.

Met this chic after i came out from one lousy relationship. She is the best girl i have dated. She gave me peace of mind and i had no reason to doubt her.

Being a guy in my very early 30's,i was thinking of making the next step with this chic when issues crept in. Issues i never knew could lead to us calling it a day.

We are both igbo's. She is nnewi and i am mbaise. Her folks told her bluntly -- we dont marry from there. Alright deep in my mind i was expecting that.it is no hidden knowledge that a lot of imo state and anambra marriages are filled with initial problems.

But the one that baffled me was bae telling me she wanted to remain a catholic. I am an anglican. I told her nope. If ur getting hitched with me be ready to go the long haul with me. She refused. She is a devoted catholic girl and she can carry church matter on her head like gala. From CYON to Legion of mary. I noticed she was even making subtle moves to drag me to the catholic church by inviting me to one event or the other

But is it not the same God? Or is there any other thing they do in catholic church? To me sha,a woman should worship where her man worships. Is that wrong?
So i am forced to ask nairalanders here, can you leave a blossoming relationship because of the church your partner attends? Am not talking about white garment and fetish churches. I mean a real church

Anyway i am single again. We broke up last friday night when she didnt want to change her mind.

Veterinarians in Nigeria are trained to handle virtually all domestic animals and some wild/exotic animals too. Though, many times, practicing veterinarians attend to some particular group of animals based on their interests, location, job description, etc.
When I served Nigeria (NYSC), i worked in an integrated farm where I attended to Food Animals (livestock): cattle, sheep, goat, pigs, poultry, rabbits and fish.
Presently, I practice somewhere in the north and I handle mainly livestock, horses and other pet animals too.

My own doc adray.

Check the title of the thread, it's "Dog chronicles" that why she is writing about dogs but you asked a good question though and it would have been better if you direct your question to her than all the vets in Nigeria

The few vets i know handle just dog issues.

I just asked based on my own observation

Hi ThatIgboBoy,

Thanks for your question. Just like in medicine there are different specialities in Veterinary Medicine. I'm a companion animal doctor so I treat mainly dogs and cats, occassionally birds and monkeys.

Large animal veterinarians handle horses, cattle etc and there are many such veterinarians in Nigeria. Go to any large animal farm you'll see them. Same goes to the vets that work in the zoos- they are called exotic veterinarians or the ones that work with poultry. Occassionally you have all- purpose veterinarians same way we have general physicians.

Similarly, veterinarians play an active and very important role in public health. We are usually at the abbattoirs to ensure that healthy animals are slaughtered and that you, the populace get safe and wholesome meat fit for consumption. I was privileged to work at an abbattoir while serving our beloved country, Nigeria.

The title of this post is "Dog Chronicles"- so all the stories you read here will be about dogs. It would be weird to see a "Dog Chronicles" title and read about horses or cows, wouldn't it?

Finally, it's worthy of note that most of the vets in the UK and the USA are companion animal doctors. This is based on the simple fact that more people have cats and dogs than they do horses and cattle.

Hope I have been able to enlighten you?

Yea,u were

So far so gud,you have been discussing mostly on dogs.
Are those the only animals vets in Nigeria attend to? There is this vet that has a programme on Nat-geo wild,Dr Pol and i see him attending to different animals. He delivers cows and horses finding it difficult to deliver. He attends to dogs, cats, just name it.
But it seems most vets in Nigeria just handle dogs and many eventually become dog breeders and sellers

ThinkSmarter:
Honestly, the Cost of Bride Price need to be reviewed in some tribes.
Imagine a young man in his late 20s or early 30s with a Savings of b/w #300k-#500k, planning to marry, only for the family of the bride to demand #150k cash with other listed items amounting to about #300k altogether, excluding the traditional /white wedding expenditures.
The exorbitant bride price hv scared young men from marriage, as they re scared of hw to source for money for the real deal[ Responsibility ] after the wedding.
Very soon, many people will adopt Lagos marriage, in case u don't what I mean by Lagos marriage, itz getting ur girlfriend pregnant while still dating her, then her family will be forced to plead with u to accept to marry her, and they will promise to accept anything u can afford, even support u in some cases, rather than allowing u to abscond, leaving their daughter pregnant with no husband.

Lol @lagos marriage

Nice thread. Once had a dog. Not an exotic one tho. Normal mogrel named jacckie. I was in sec school then and it was a gift. It started killing the neigbours chicken and we came back from school one day to find dad has sold it to those who eat dog meat. But that was enough to elicit my passion for dogs. Will get one one day.
