izzou:I don help am out already, looks like he can't take a joke. The other time Baz001 was being sarcastic, he took it seriously. We respond to things differently and sometimes we fit just understand some peeps from their write-ups. You still never tell am wetin him need to know though ![]() |
Barbiturate:Some responses suggest an answer already. You're at the right place (for e-hailing) but the timing is wrong (On a Monday morning). That place is only appropriate on weekends and maybe some week nights, say from Wednesday. Strategic positioning is quite important and cannot be over emphasized. Weekday mornings, find your way to residential areas and set destination for a long distance trip, probably from Ikeja, you could input Chevron/Ajah as your destination, that way, you're sure to get a long distance trip. You need to be strategic to make the most of your day, especially on Monday mornings, first Monday for that matter. This is one of the best Mondays to hit target easily, as most corporate riders/salary earners have enough cash within this period, all the way till the end of the first week. You may think it's past resumption time and most persons are at their various places work already, but the truth is, some riders may have an appointment on the island, set for that time, and you can only find such riders in residential areas. You easily could have driven towards Agidingbi, Adeniyi Jones, Ogba and other residential places around that neighborhood. The amount of fuel you would burn is negligible compared to the profit you'd make (when you eventually get a trip) or the loss you'd incur (wasting time at the mall). My opinion though. ![]() |
spartacus11:Yes, he talked about the cruise control in a Hybrid car, saying when it is activated, car drives only on batteries. That's okay. There are probably alot of things I do not know about on cars too, we learn everyday... |
spartacus11:We're talking about Cruise Control. |
Gabrinchi256:And just fold your legs or do whatever with it, asides pedalling...save the energy for when you get back on a busy road. Been using it since 2010 (Pencil light Camry), Had to do some deep reading before using. It's the first thing I look out for whenever I need to do long distance on a random car. Some cars have buttons on the steering, instead of a stick. |
Gabrinchi256:Truth is, you can also rev your engine with cruise control when you push that stick up gently, your vehicle accelerates and maintains the km/h at whatever point you stop, same thing happens when you push the stick down, your vehicle decelerates. Cruise control can only work on highways and on major roads where you can do 40km/h and above. Also, stepping on the brake pedal at any point, deactivates the cruise control, so you need to resume once you go above 40km/h to reactivate it. |
deedee44:You're correct, using the cruise control on the Hybrid doesn't mean it would drive on just battery alone, otherwise how do the batteries get charged? It's the energy from acceleration (fuel) that is recycled and stored on the battery, so it alternates between battery and fuel. |

Pearl1910:A deposit (specific amount of money) should be in order. |
frubben:Amen and you too. One way or the other I heard you requested collateral for rentals, why bros? |
Pearl1910:Based on my experience in the hustle, I'd share one tip here. One of the best times to cash out on the hustle is the first week of every month...the week after salary has been paid. Every day, for about two weeks straight, you'd make a good amount, but the peak is usually the first few days and the very first weekend (Friday, Saturday, and the 1st Sunday of the month). Activities begin to go down gradually, because people are probably exhausting their cash and need to manage, person wey dey jump bus, go go back to bus, less outings and dinner dates and all of that, less hang-outs and waka waka. Takes experience to figure this out, positioning and strategy is key. Cheers! |
Orchid road, in and out is messed up. There was an accident between a bike man and a tipper (sand truck). Orchid road is blocked in and out, except it is extremely important and you would cash out big, stay away. |
Pearl1910:At what point did I come back to that? |
Duke111:how? |
Slickleo:Good thing you chose to stick to the narrative, I'd address the issues one after the other. 1. On whether his understanding about e-hailing is solid or not, I'd leave people to determine that, but I know he gets blocked every now and then, I know he has changed partners more often than not. 2. Uber is correct, they are not a Transport company as they do not own cars, they are a Tech company, that provide transporters (driver-partners) with passengers (riders). Check the meaning of Transport, it should help you get a better understanding. 3. For this, I'd ask that you put yourself in the position of a rider who left his/her house for the market, before a torrential downpour, got caught up in between, you have waited endlessly and the rain would not stop, under the pressure to go attend to other things, you request a ride, your hands are filled with items shopped, how easy and time-saving would it be to clean up properly before jumping in to a car, still under the rain? I am not driving presently, but when I used to, I chose the Island because most times, the riders here are more enlightened and exposed, they know how Uber works and have probably used it outside the country too, this helps to reduce the issue of coming across unexposed and entitled riders, who do not know how to behave when in your vehicle, which could lead to being rated poorly amidst other issues. A long-distance trip from the island to the mainland, and back to the island, is better and can help hit the target faster. It's like starting from one end and moving to another end, instead of starting from the middle. A good example is a trip from Chevron to the Airport, as compared to a trip from Surulere or Yaba to the Airport. Frequent riders, which means more short trips, less agberos, less rough drivers like the yellow and black buses, less bad roads and so on. Cheers! |
Slickleo:Whatever this means or where it is coming from, I honestly do not understand it. Respect is earned man. You should stick to the purpose of this conversation, if you digress, I'm out and you would get no reply. If you want to open up another topic for debate, please feel free, but do not change the subject matter of this conversation. |
Felicity001:You're changing the whole narrative bros. You love to speak trash all the time, wrong comparisons, and wrong analysis. This topic is limited to how riders should get into your car with clean feet on a day when it rains. You were in so much hurry to type shii you didn't check to see where I said "some excesses need to be curbed." Little wonder you lost all your driving accounts. Arguing with you is a waste of time, enjoy your day chief. |
Felicity001:People like you want to eat their cake and have it. You want to run commercial with your car and get paid for it, but you do not want to deal with one of the many issues that come with that type of service. Your mentality ehn...you talk faster than you think bros. |
donfortune48:Well done sir, this solves the problem, instead of swearing and cursing out customers (riders). I applaud your creativity. Felicity, learn from this. |
Felicity001:Your illustrations do not follow. For a house, there is a rug, to dust your feet. Where do you want a rider to dust his feet before entering yout vehicle? or does the app state that riders shouldn't order a ride when their feet is dusty? It is what it is...there are good days and there are rainy days, so it is our duty to find a way around it and not that of the rider, except for riders who would intentionally place their muddy feet on the rug instead of the carpet, your argument does not hold water. Someone was fast enough to think outside the box and provided a solution in form of placing papers on the floor before picking up riders, which should go a long way in reducing the mud or dust as the case may be. Stop acting like you are doing riders a favour by driving on the plaform, I quite agree there are excess that are to be curbed but this is not one of it. |
Felicity001:Them suppose pull shoe wash legs before entering your car? Is it their fault that their legs are muddy? You're rendering a service man and there should be no discrimination between a rider who's feet are muddy and one who isn't. One of the pointers of delivering a quality service is being nice to riders who respect themselves and act nicely too. Change your mindset bros |
