Jamesbally: God bless you. We all know the intention of this thread before it got to this point. We the silent readers are not as dumb as the op, the Google mechanic, and his Asslickers. It's a plan work from the inception against the Lady Engineer. You can say that over and over so it will thunder loud in their ears, that everyone does not think in the same direction. They can choose to believe whatever they want, but it takes a truly honest and unbiased mind to figure out the truth and put it up here amongst the car talk cabals regardless of their bullying. Radautoworks is not just a great "LADY ENGINEER" (make I borrow your English), she's the best that there can be, she is a lady with a priceless heart of gold, from which a lot of persons on and off Nairaland are beneficiaries. I have followed her for a while now, I have read through several of her posts and lost the number of times she has come through for different persons, she is magnanimous like that. why then would arrogant men not hate? why? They had better be humble and learn how to be successful in all spheres of life. I'm out... |

Felicity001: Someone said he did 6months in 2017 before visiting a mechanic workshop. Like, wow! Great car i must admit and probably not on rental or HP so car was not working optimally rather "soft work".
The fact remains, no investor can recoup 2.4m in 24 months, please if you've or have seen somebody who did kindly come forward or bring the person forward with evidence let's give such person an award.
I wonder what people gain by misleading the public with false data. You bought a car that's more than 15yrs old and as done at least 80k-miles and you are telling me you used same car for transportation business in Lagos for 6months without fixing a damn thing, not even a change of tire, bolt or nut or even wiper? Ok... Kuku say you didn't buy fuel na. That you haven't seen it or haven't experienced it doesn't mean it hasn't happened. First off, it was before the 40percent price crash. Secondly, I worked with a strategy and not blindly, which means I didn't have to stress the car or abuse it. The island was (and is) still a pretty good place because there weren't much drivers like there are now, which means more trips within the island. You could net 10k without going past V.I and of cause remittance was between 40 to 50k back then. You need to understand say Tokunbo get grade and owner was one with a knack for pristine vehicles tokunbo or new. Have a free spirit man, learn to relearn and unlearn. |

I really didn't want to respond to mentions in order to avoid a back and forth conversation, but then I had to clear this.
First, I was speaking on behalf of someone who intends to get a car with his own money and drive it himself, not rentals.
Let's be honest, what is the average one can net in a week, no matter how bad the week turns out? Let's put that between 35-40k
Someone here said the highest he has gone with a tokunbo without an issue was 3 months...
Well, I did 6months with a Corolla. Asides oil change, there was no issue. (2017)
With a Tokunbo Civic 2007/08, you can achieve a 25k weekly savings. Fuel consumption is on the low, parts aren't so expensive. The purpose is to recoup 2m in 24months, the extra 400k should compensate for maintenance and other issues or days you are unable to work.
Preventive maintenance is very important as this would forestall bigger issues and help save cost in the long run.
Keeping your car in order on a regular, being able to hold convos and having a very positive attitude should give you some offline contacts, which should help make your weekly target easier.
Any car that exhausts 400k on maintenance should still be in a very good shape at the end of two years, which should increase resale value.
Four weeks a month is equal to 28 days, which leaves you with 3 extra days on some months and 2 on others.
You do not need to spend the whole 7 days in a week all the time, in order to net 25k and still make something extra for yourself, which leaves you with more than 2 or 3 extra days a month as the case may be.
It's your vehicle, gives you the privilege to work at your own pace, you just have to be disciplined enough to know that you have a target to meet, plus there are weeks you would hit your target early, which gives you the chance to either get some rest or make some extra, in advance for other weeks, choice is yours.
200kms a day (max) should give you more than enough to hit 25k weekly and would also add about 134400 kms (83600miles) on your odo, which is still fair enough, considering the amount of care and maintenance your car gets.
It is achievable. Never say never.
Cheers! |

Pearl1910: The thinking is that he has not started making profit until he has gotten d capital back, and it will take him two years to make d roughly 2m he will put into d business. I think he is trying to discourage him from spending so much to get a car he wants to use for ehailing Exactly what I was hoping to hear. Truth is, at the end of two years or whatever time one makes the capital, the value of the car as at when capital is recouped, would be your profit. If vehicle is in a good condition, vehicle can be resold maybe at half the price it was bought. A very good maintenance culture should leave vehicle in top shape. 100k a month should amount to 2.4m in 24 months. |

BAZ001: If I talk now they will say I sleep and wake here. But in passing let me ask 1. Are you buying d car for personal use and then side hustle or 2. you buying car strictly for d hustle ? 3. Will you be driving or giving it out HP/Rentals? If it’s strictly for the hustle 1.8m car in Lagos is too much. You will wait for 2yrs to start making profit and your car go don hear am. I’ve done two trips dis morning one na off Itire road (surge) but I cry for my car cos I no believe say roads like dt dey IKate side. Runs girl no go send tokunbo car. By d time u start doing maintenance, hmmm How does he have to wait for two years before he starts to make profit? Help me understand that |
Romance › Re: Do I remove This Baby? by ThatNiccur: 2:30pm On Mar 03, 2021 |
I hope you get to see this and read it in time.
It's safe to say I was in your shoes, just about this time last year. What i was earning was barely enough to take care of two people. Though I didn't contemplate on whether to keep my beautiful Angel or not. I made a straight decision to keep her and hoped to double my hustle.
Lockdown came knocking and all the plans I had made towards raising funds for my baby's arrival had been thwarted by the pandemic. The main focus was to survive through it, though I was not lacking as to feeding and all of that, God has been faithful and my family was also supportive, still, there was no single baby item in sight. Baby's birth was due for July and it was May already.
One thing I did, was to use the lockdown period to search and seek God in spirit and in truth. Baby arrived and before she did, I got a job in June, through a very renowned member on this platform, prior to my Angel's birth, this member, with a very beautiful soul, had helped me through the lockdown. She made the beginning of my Job easy, she was so sensitive, enough to know I had nothing to resume the job she had helped me secure, i got an upfront. Baby's arrival was nice, got gifts from her, a few friends and well wishers and an aunt. There was more than enough for my baby to use, got more than I expected.
Now, I have a 9-5 job in her company, I am well placed and also well paid. Moved out of my family house too. I am grateful to God.
Truth is, sometimes, God just wants us to know that he's got us, especially when there seems to be no way out, no where to run to and no one to talk to, as it is God's perfect timing to show himself strong. Learn to search and seek God with all your heart, fast on a regular, if you yearn for a change of your current situation, pray about it regularly, do not let the present condition you find yourself, weigh you down or distract you. Focus on God, he is the author and the finisher of our faith. In him, we have our wellbeing.
I'd tell your the truth, I do not think I'd have moved so fast (have a baby and a light naming ceremony during the pandemic, get a 9-5 job in a fast growing environment with the opportunity to learn new skills and be more productive, move out of my family house) without God, in the space of such short time. I am GRATEFUL to GOD and would encourage you to seek him, believe me, you would have more than enough to be thankful for.
Remember, the fastest way to reach God during times like this (or at any time at all) is to Fast and Pray fervently. Be intentional, be serious, he would come through for you in a big way, no doubt.
Do not tow the abortion line, I beg you, please.
Cheers bro. |

radautoworks: New year proposal. Ignore anyone unproductive on this thread. So much derailing as a result- which I let myself get sucked into. From last couple of posts it's more obvious japa just needs to get a rise and knows nothing about most of the people he is taking trash to. He has obviously never been to the shop (which a lot of you have) and never keeps his word. Just a sad little man in a sad little world. Like one other person he is banished from my reality and no longer exists
2021 I hope there are more of you like donfortunate who will be able to liberate themselves from people like japa. Those of you do buy your own car, DM me I have something for you.
I pray the Lord's protection over all of you. Covid-19 will not see you in this new wave. Surge will be your portion. Those of you doing Uber as a means to an end will achieve your goals in 2021. Those of you who enjoy Uber will experience peaceful trips and maximum earnings. Those with new babies, they will grow wise and strong. Those newly married will have wives that elevate not repress them. Those looking will find the same. And in all your successes, you will remember as you climb the ladders of success to look back and pull up one person behind you.
These are my prayers for you for 2021. God bless all of you. Amen |

CheerfulGiver: Yes you should have stayed out of it. It's not always about you.
You need to understand that everyone has a right to spend their money how they deem fit. You're not entitled to see anyone's weekly expenditure or as you put it, correct narrative of driver earnings because, no driver spends money the same.
Simple question. Who earned highest? You don't need to see how I spent the 150k I made on my dashboard to believe I earned 150k. What's that all about? You sound so bitter man. You have only successfully displayed a major attitude of a mediocre. "WuruWuru to the answer" Naija's greatest undoing. It is the reason a lot of things are not properly done. You should be grateful she included those conditions and helped with a better idea on how to be organized. Should be one of the things you focus on after now, if you're not practising that already. Her contribution is in every way priceless, it's way more than the 10k. Their differences: One supports mediocrity Rad supports originality and accountability (enyiola's paper work) |

You can't handle one third of it man. Wonder why she pass you attention.
Welcome back to ur asslicking job, i know if u don't do this u won't be paid. Call it whatever. I call it God's Blessings. It takes real to recognize real. No one to lick your smelly ass, your life is as miserable as you portray here. All you do is spread hardship and negativity and try to make others as miserable as yourself or maybe worse. Business › Re: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by ThatNiccur: 12:45pm On Dec 29, 2020 |
radautoworks: If I can manage a large company's bank statement I can figure it out
On a serious note it doesn't take a genius to see multiple small amounts and figure out they are trip payments. The amounts cash or not will match your dashboard earnings.
If dashboard says 100k one week, there should be corresponding payments totalling about that much is it not? Factor in a percentage of error for actual cash in hand that was never deposited and it should be close. And yes, we are factoring in that it takes a few days to get your money after the week.
I told you my teacher cap is on. Whether 800k is possible or not is beside the point. This is about learning money management. Have you ever wondered why it seems like no matter how much some people earn they are always broke? Some drivers here are living beyond their means without realizing it. Others are not maximizing their income and could have probably achieved so much more. Yet others are making what sem to be massive incomes but only actually making less than 25% of what they work for. Which one are you?
On the flip side some investors think this is a gold mine and want to jump in. It may well be under the right conditions but what are those conditions? Other investors have misconceptions about driver's earnings vs take home. This exercise will shed some light.
New year, new mindset. Too many sides (all positive) with so much to learn. You're an all rounder. |
