BlueRayDick: Did you not listen when the officer told Wike theh had sent all the documents he was requesting to them?
The thing about this case is everyone is choosing a party to side with and that's not really a problem actually. The problem is choosing a side and trying to make it look as if the side u choose is right while the other side isn't.
Wike is asking for documents and the guy claimed it has been sent to the FCTA. If the FCTA felt there are issues with the document why didn't they write through official channels to that effect?
If the FCTA which Wike heads wanted to carry out official duty of taking over the property, they should be going to that premises with a court order which empowers them to do that.
Instead, Wike in his usual manner stormed the premises with over 50 policemen with the intent he could forcefully take over the property and carry out demolitions even when there are subsiding court processes on the matter.
There have been allegations of Wike revoking allocation documents and using his office to grab lands even when there are cases on the particular matter in court.
He may use that uslesas line of "carrying out legal duty" against helpless civilians and it will work out for him, but he has met his match with the military boys who are strategic and can match him illegality for illegality, force for force and rascality for rascality. Nigerian's have still not understood that military officials are subject to civil law within civil spaces, and cannot be seen to be obstructing government officials from performing jobs within their jurisdiction. If it was a normal civilian, and not a military person with guns to fight Wike and his goons, what would you recommend they do in this situation? Would you tell them to grandstand, and be telling government officials performing their duties to go and write through official channels before they'd obey a "STOP WORK" order? I mean Wike and his goons are the official channel in question , and if the military guys have issues with their interpretation of the law, it's to escalate or take to another official channel that would give them listening ear...not to grandstand. Before WIke came there in-person, whatever communication they give to every other person they gave those guys, it was becuase they refused to listen that WIke came in-person, and they too anticipated it by placing military boys "on order" because they had no intention of acknowledging what was already communicated to them. |

BlueRayDick: Sahara reporters is saying Wike actually revoked the title documents of the land and reallocate same to his associates.
So for those saying the military guys are there illegally, it may actually be a case of Wike trying to forcefully grab the land as usual but meg his match on this one. Even if this was the case, there are channels through which they seek redress. But then again, where illegality is normalized, what then is legal or proper? Make dem carry go sha, I like as the small boy take handle am...I wish he was stup1d enough to slap the boy. |

Instead of them asking the right questions they're saying wike should've met with the admiral instead of going there to shout. Why didn't the admiral meet wike or go to court to stop his property from being seized? He doesn't have any right to deploy soldiers there when no court gave such order. This is not a military regime.
People should stop allowing their hatred for wike cloud their judgement. On a norms Wike no even get business for that place at all, na simple papers dem go serve them and work stops immediately but na Naija we dey so anything goes |

BlueRayDick: All those "number 1 administrator of the FCT " na just make-me-feel good title.
Wike is the minister of FCT which is at best an equivalent of a governor of Abuja and communities around it. Military officers don't answer to him; he's nowhere in their line of command/reporting line.
If Wike had issues with him, he knows the normal civil means of getting his grievance against the officer addressed.
Wike has been a governor for 8 years and he knows even GOCs of army divisions in his state don't answer to him. Not answering to him is one thing, but land matters in the FCT is under his jurisdiction or will they now say because they don't answer to him now takeover the government quarters claiming order? |

Na only zoo this kin thing fit happen sha, cause while those guys were there on order, they were there illegally and a simple document should have been enough to have them vacate the premises.

BlueRayDick: We already know what he is, but we need to let other unsuspecting readers know exactly what he is, lest they take his opinion as that of a neutral rational third party.
People like him will write papers on Sharia law and Islamic jurisprudence. They will tell you Sharia law is the right of a Muslim and should be allowed to judge matters(both civil and criminal) involving Muslims, but they will never come out to explain why non Muslims have been beheaded, stoned to death or set ablaze over issues relating to blasphemy which has nothing to do with non Muslims .
If blasphemy is deeply rooted in Sharia, why is a non Muslim getting killed for an alleged crime committed under a system of law he's not subject to?
The fact that people like Amoto and Bashir Ahmad with their education will defend the babarism is just neausating. They give the radicals morale support from the sidelines and won't hesitate to defend the radicals when secular law catches up with them. A case in point is the arrested killers of Deborah that had over 30 Muslim lawyers showing up for them in court to defend them. Sharia law in a secural state would always be problematic, especially because a lot of the things it proposes runs in parallel with our secular laws. Even as a Muslim, if I elect to not be tried using Sharia law, I should be allowed that right even while maintaining my membership of Islam, but that's often not the case. |

"There is no Christian Genocide in Nigeria".
Since time immemorial, we've been hearing stories of "good muslims", muslims that spared Christians from being killed by hiding them in a mosque or their homes, yet they'd want to have us believe there's no Christian Genocide in certain parts of the country.

BlueRayDick: So because I don't want my wealth to pass down to my daughter's stepchildren if her husband decides to by polygamous ; I should disinherit my own grandchildren by not passing any part of my wealth to their mother? That's cutting off your nose to spite your face na.
It makes sense to pass it down to grandchildren if they are available at that point but what if they are not? Would you not pass it to your daughter because of fear of the unknown? You might not disinherit them, but you'd put guardrails in place to ensure that the family wealth is preserved, like there's an entire aspect of family estate management that deals with things like this. E get where money go don reach before you begin think like this sha, also families that practice inheritance in this fashion tend to run a family business. Your normal rich man that did business solo, or rose in the ranks in corporate career to build wealth would likely not think like this, and probably shouldn't. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by Theflint1(m): 10:47am On Oct 28, 2025 |
Ibime: Family wealth lost through partners is called sideways disinheritance
For example your daughter dies and the man marries new wife. Your money will now be split between your grandchildren and his new wifes children. Or maybe your daughter is unfortunate enough to marry a schemer or polygamist
That's why some cultures practice the culture of passing on inheritance to grandchildren rather than children. By that stage, e done sure pass Yea, families that have had wealth pass across three to four generations didn't have it happen by leaving things to chance or democratizing inheritance. |

BlueRayDick: I feel this is an unfair system introduced by JAMB. 599 candidates scored above 80% (i.e. 320 and above) but because they are underaged they were subjected to further scrutiny only for just 85 of them to be offered admission eventually.
The system just doesn't sit down well with me. It's either JAMB prevents underage students from writing the UTME totally or allow everyone who scored high to have equal opportunity to be considered for admission.
This is Nigeria; if care is not taken JAMB may have successfully created another black market where parents with means will be buying slot for their underaged kids to be considered for admission above others in similar categories.
https://www.nairaland.com/8548582/jamb-clears-85-underage-candidates Nigeria deserves to and should lose all it's brightest minds, it's just unfortunate that some parents are not aware enough or having the means to make their kids ready for exams like the SATs else kids that are scoring high like this would perform well in the SATs and jet out. It's become pretty common to have kids this talented get scopped up by uni's abroad, know someone that her two kids went like this, first girl straight to MIT and younger one to Stanford or some other Ivy institution, both girls scored around 350 in the JAMB exams. |
