Theflint1: Dem recently increase my rent from 650k to 800k, and it's Ogba, and traffic is light. But the 4 bedroom above me, that they let out last year, was for 1.5m per year. I know anything that sends me house hunting now would see me spending around that 1.1 to 1.3, and still within Ogba. CC: Livelongnprospa

Melvyn11: It's funny how in that same Jurassic world cartoon a boy and girl also kissed yet no one is talking about that. Just shows people don't actual care about showing sexual stuffs to kids, it's just fake outrage. Rather than campaigning for all sexual related stuff banned from kids show people are using it to run a useless agenda. The complaint wasn't about this. It's irresponsible of Netflix to expose impressionable kids to what's generally considered a taboo. |

Ellexy: It's almost as if the armed forces are joint participants in this epidemic of insecurity. Everytime, it's the poor villagers that are disarmed by the military of the little weapons they're using to protect and defend themselves, while the terrorists are being pampered and giving chieftancy titles. Thing is on a norms, citizens are not supposed to bear arms, and for people bearing arms for protection and not to cause mayhem, it's not out of place to surrender weapons to avoid more gbege. Nigeria is under-policed and our officers are lacking in morale...seriosu investment has to be made in that direction, and state policing adopted to increase breadth. |

BlueRayDick: Do you wind down while driving in Lagos ? Omo , I my window is always rolled up and I always central lock either in traffic or in motion .
I don’t give room for anybody to come close to the car and be taking to me about anything .
When I am in public bus I also don’t give attention to any beggar or tout that comes near the window o. It’s because of such experiences like urs above I dey always avoid engagement when I’m in public Windows were rolled up, but no tint, and I had PC and other stuffs on the passenger side (mistake). The guy in question came real close to the windows, our face for almost dey touch sef if no be the windows, wound down slightly to pass him the 2K. Normally I dey return greetings and keep it moving, I would adopt the zero engagement policy going forward, be like na dawan pay pass. |

police and military personnels are seriously lacking in courage.
That VDM video where he and his convoy were running towards victims of highway kidnapping was a clear pointer to this, like they literally passed police personnels that were fully armed yet stood doing nothing, by the time VDM retruned to pick up a gun shot victim, the police officers he passed along the way had driven the other way, away from the scene of the kidnap. |

https://x.com/yojora/status/1972746652487421954The stories under this thread are chilling. Had an experience like two weeks ago where someone came to me in traffic and was begging/part threatening me for money, saying he was just coming from prison and he begs so he doesn't rob, and intermittently he took his hands towards the back of his pocket like he was reaching for a weapon...kuku gave him like 2K cash that was with me, he saw I had more, asked for more and I told him to ask the other guys in the traffic, say me sef don try. Man was quite hefty and had those manual labour sort of body definition, was probably all begging, but he made clear demands. Na God dey help person for this Naija...someone on Twitter said they saw two dead bodies around Otedola bridge, victims of armed robbery. |

Ibime: I have a keen interest in following in-depth survivor stories from major disasters especially Titanic and 9/11
I suspect there will be a few more deaths from smoke inhalation in that building from the video I saw of them crowding around the windows, and expect more stories like these over the coming days and weeks The amount of unavoidable deaths that occur in this country is just crazy, people are basically one health or situational emergency away from losing their lives. |

izzou: I don't even see the sense in trying to force a club to sell you.
You signed a contract. Finish it and move on. No club is obligated to sell you because you have suitors. If they don't want to, play out your contract and leave honorably. Sometimes this strong head works in the favor of the players, and sometimes it doesn't, most clubs would rather cash in on a player that's made it abundantly clear they want out...just don't understand these Italian clubs and their weird ego trip that sees them have players depreciate on their books. Lookman would leave either January or June 2026, and Atalanta would end up making less than they'd have made if they allowed him leave last transfer window. |

Roland17: When asked about the player, the Croatian said: “Lookman won’t be with us. It’s a truly unpleasant situation. After a meeting with him, I feel we need other things – spirit, fight, humility, work, guys who have to feel the shirt well. Our guys have to do that. I don’t want anything else.”
Speaking further, Juric clarified: “I want a different human level, a different sense of belonging. I have a good relationship with him, but I don’t have to ask him. Damn, we’re Atalanta, I don’t have to beg him. He needs strong, human values.”
https://sports.yahoo.com/article/atalanta-manager-ivan-juric-ademola-125100264.html
I am unsure who is advising Lookman but he needs to move on from what happened in the summer. If anything it should serve as motivation for him to work harder.
He needs game time to even convince clubs in January to push harder for him. He looked rusty against SA and may be in worse shape if he doesn’t reintegrate into Atalanta before January.
My position doesn’t mean I am indifferent to his plight but it is time to move on. Those are strong comments from his coach and while I don’t think everything is true, it is what the world now sees. January can't come fast enough for Lookman, this club just spoil what was supposed to be his truly big professional contract. Football can be brutal. |

raumdeuter: The reason people have access to guns is because Guns are common whether legal or illegal guns
One of the reasons guns are legal is because there is no feasible way to control illegal guns(similar to how illegal drugs have not been controlled). Stopping legal ownership of guns just gives the criminals a free reign Would guns be as common if they were made illegal/controlled? It's more difficult controlling drugs because they're a lot easier to conceal and peddle, guns less so. If America enacts gun control, and means to control the flow of guns into the country, they can and that's why people fight against gun control, because it's one of those things that can be controlled (to a large extent) when a country means to. |

Or pick soft targets where people are unarmed like elementary schools, malls or churches or Benue villages
The solution to a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun And there'd always be soft targets. |

raumdeuter: How would you stop access to guns for criminals? Criminals won't lack guns if they want So the reason why the US has a disproportionately high number of gun-related violence vs their other first world countries is because its people are more inclined to crime, and not because of the ease with which the criminals in the US have access to guns? |

raumdeuter: How many first world countries d you know that border with a cartel run country and denying the citizens the ability to own guns to defend themselves is just giving the armed criminals a free ride like it is in Nigeria where criminals will pre-announce and come for you The average American insists on bearing arms because they see the constitution provides for that, and it's essentially become a way of life, and not becuase of Mexicans. |

He had done one World cup prior and got disgraced, and did a Nations Cup with a bronze medal, playing horrid football. The man did his bit, we can't be crying Rohr 4 years after his sack...he wasn't that special. |

iamoyindamola: Abeg why was rohr sacked E kon be llikewise took 20 years step backward I watched Benin and marvel at how they played, we are struggling Normally our players don't need coach to break down teams considering our qualities and exposure Rohr is not the Alpha and Omega of Super Eagles, coaches better than Rohr have been sacked, his time passed and he got sacked...didn't help that the football he played was atrocious. The succession plan was a mess, and that's why we're here today, and not because we sacked Gernot Rohr. Super Eagles was the longest stint in Rohr's managerial career, everywhere else he was promptly fired, of all coaches to get stuck on his nuts, it shouldn't be Rohr. |
