Simply make a transfer using your Nigerian domiciliary account details (correspondent bank, IBAN, ultimate beneficiary bank and name, etc.). You should be able to find the international transfer option in your UK bank's app/internet banking platform.

Not necessarily.
There are no hard and fast rules.
Sometimes, at the pre-selection stage, some candidates are washed out because they will need sponsorship.
Sometimes, at the pre-selection stage, the company decides it is prepared to provide sponsorship if a good candidate may require it.
And I have heard of a couple of cases where a company went down the whole sponsor licence route for a specific candidate (it's certainly not as expensive as people think, far from it).

The point being that at whatever stage you raise the issue of sponsorship in a recruitment process and the subsequent outcome, you have not made a fatal mistake or done anything that you should regret.

In many adverts you see a line that states 'For enquiries, please contact so-and-so at [email address/telephone number]'.
That person is usually someone in the department where the vacancy is and they are involved in the selection process, and contacting them is a good step to get an idea of what the job role entails.

In most interviews, HR only sits in and notes down and ticks responses to the meaningless standard questions ('Can you tell us about a time when you demonstrated leadership or when you handled a situation successfully on your own and provided a good customer service outcome?), etc.

A friend came to the UK on a Tier 4 visa in September and was randomly applying for some permanent roles to test the water and see how employable he is. Now he’s got a company that has the ability to sponsor him on a T2.
Is it possible to switch visa completely before the 3 months to the end of course rule? If he’s able to combine work and school, can he continue with the masters program while working full time on the Tier 2 visa?

Good evening Ancestors on this street. I need your guidance here. We just relocated to Coventry from Naija and in the process of finding school for the kids. We wrote to the council and they scheduled a zoom meeting with us where they interviewed us alongside the kids. (6 and they told us that the nearest school of our choice has vacancy for the 6 year old in grade 2 while they do not have vacancy for the other kid who should be in grade 4. They said the option we have is to accept the nearest school for the grade 2 and the other farther school for the other one while we apeal to the council to see if they can reconsider and place both in same school

That is one. The next is that if they eventually place them and we want them fed, we would have to pay to the school for feeding. That one confuse me. I thought public schools in UK feed their pupils. Abi Coventry own dey different. How do I handle this feeding own.

I have someone who was faced with the same issue and opted to place 2 of his children in one school and the other in another school. He needed to get to work and couldn't deal with the option of leaving one child out while waiting for a placement. After a while of what he said was a lot of stress doing a school run in 2 places, the council did eventually place the last child in the same school with the others.

On the other hand, I know someone in a similar situation who is still waiting.

Lastly, in England, school meals are not free for all classes. In Scotland they are now (but tax in Scotland is higher than in England for the 3 upper tax bands).

Yes, your tax code changes in line with the number of places you're paying tax.
To be perfectly honest, I see quite a few tax codes like that which point in that direction, but we've no rules to flag any such thing. Again, most of the people for whom I see such variable tax coding are on the starter rungs of our corporate ladder anyway, so perhaps the company doesnt begrudge them supplementing their minimum wage with other employment.

Ancillary activities clauses in employment contracts are common. Their general aim is to try to ensure that the employee is not burning the candle at both (or several) ends to ensure they have enough energy and dedication to perform the duties for which the employer is hiring them. There's no surveillance involved, so your employer has no means of finding out if you have another evening job unless that comes to their notice another way (age-old story of working two jobs in the same industry and finding out the hard way that your bosses in both jobs know each other).

On the other hand, on the old Tier 2 visa had a prohibition on sponsored employees working for other employees in most circumstances, and that came from the government as a condition of the visa (not sure of the conditions of the new Skilled Worker visa), and that is separate from this particular clause to which the original poster referred.

Landlord responsible for fixing the usual - plumbing, installed white goods, structural, electrics, etc.
Of course you also apply wisdom - if you call your landlord for a leaking tap once, maybe twice, the next time something similar happens you find a Polish plumber in the area or on Nextdoor and fix it yourself. With time, you get a set of tools and learn to tinker with the basics yourself (YouTube is helpful for that).

Home emergency cover is the landlord's responsibility.
As the name states, it covers call outs in the event of an emergency such as burst plumbing, boiler failure, etc.
Contents insurance is what you as a tenant can take out, if you wish, to possibly cover your possessions and any items of furnishing your landlord may have in the house.

I will be waiting for your response though. My friend said that he agreed with the lady because of a rule that you must apply for any visa change with 6 months remaining on your current visa I.e student visa dependent to PSW dependent.

My own question to him was now that how does the 6 months rule now apply to the main student himself if he needs to finish his one year program and apply for the post study visa at the end of it which will definitely be at the end of his student visa as well.

The whole thing is just confusing especially as there is no definite statement on these requirements on any official website.

The previous response you got is correct - your dependants must simply enter the UK any time before your student visa expires, not within six months of that time.

No such thing as a six-month rule regarding application - the only place where the rules state that a six month time limit comes into play is that where your student visa has less than 6 months to run, your dependants will not pay the IHS. However, that means that they might be charged for any hospital treatment.

I'll definitely agree that it's a depopulating city, like so many, and yes, that is clearly obvious.
I just like the seaside/maritime ambience, and its air of faded glamour of sorts. I've only been thrice, actually, last time in 2018, so I can imagine what the pandemic will have done to the high street now.

I've been to Newport to visit one such person, and unfortunately you don't get a good impression of the place from the train station onwards.

If I recall correctly, taxes are lower in the Channel Islands so the £2000 difference maybe way more than you think when you take that into account. Please cross check that and don't take it as gospel. But it used to have a reputation as a tax haven

2ndly - cost of living is cheaper on the mainland because Jersey is a tiny island and majority of food and good there are shipped over from mainland England. It's a small place. You can drive round the whole island in one hour. Rents are expensive as well and you really have no choice but take what you find.

It gets very very busy in the summer as it's a tourist hotspot and prices of everything gets raised accordingly in the summer.

I caveat this by saying I haven't been there for about 6 years now. Based on what I know, I'd take a job in London over Jersey and that's saying something cos I can't stand London ��

Jersey, IOW have quite high rents, and unless one really likes the island life, one might as well live in any other overpriced big city.
