The part in bold! Our people talking about "inconvenience". It makes me sad that people justify this "phenomenon". Notice how most Nigerian success stories abroad touch on individuals, not much impact to community, whereas these Asians (and Jews as another case in point) control empires that benefit generations. We sit here and whine about inconvenience when we should be rallying and building ourselves up. Hian!

I lived with family together with my dependant while I was studying, it was not only inconvenient for our hosts, but for us as well, but the strategy was to adjust while keeping an eye on the end goal. This allowed me save on the cost of renting such that with my 20hr weekly income, I was able to make up my tuition conveniently, something we are made to believe is not possible.

I see a lot of foreign students especially suffering unnecessarily simply because their presence will be inconvenient to someone who is supposed to be family. Rather than work on regulating our behaviour and focus on a greater good... We all have our stories and experiences which I am by no means trying to discount, we just need to tell ourselves the truth and do better as a bloc

For students i get that they don't want student to burden UK if they get stranded and hence why its there .. but a workers visa. It might not be a requirement but I am not sure . That just by hutch

I am curious about this as well.... it is a requirement for student visa that both parents apply for a child. Dont know if work visa is different, I checked online and wasn't clear

35% saturation made me laugh but tbh though, there’s something about the UK system that makes our people less accommodating. It’s not this bad in the US. Family is a bit more willing to host visitors there.

One of my baby trips, we booked hotel-apartment and my aunt came there to physically Jack us out She said not while she’s in the same town. The only time I succeeded in staying alone was when I went to a state with no close relatives and even then, they organized people they knew to cook and check up on us.

I always say America is a bit more like Nigeria. Uk brings out the ‘managing’ side in most people unfortunately. Everyone should understand sha and be prepared if moving abroad. No one owes you anything tbh.

I thought liability to pay Council tax is on the homeowner, not the tenant? I have not been paying nor asked to pay Council tax. Who is in trouble me or my "landlord"?

Oh well. Just find that strange because dependant's pay an additional £19.50 with the visa fee for biometrics to UKVI. The UKVCAS collects this (already paid for) biometrics, which is what TLS does without charging any fee except additional charges which are optional. I'm just curious why this £125 is being charges and why it cannot be avoided.

I don't think this is true. Throughout my master's program ( including the 4 months extra on the tier 4 visa), I never paid council tax neither was any demanded from me.

My people, please does any one know the procedure for dependant biometric capture? Why does it cost an additional £125 and will the principal applicant still need to do the same after using the ID check app? Those who have applied/switched visas from within the UK can anyone help out please?

Do they really take this seriously, because, to be frank, these bills(rent, tuition, utility, feeding) can't be paid sticking to this.
I heard from someone who is staying already that they don't take it seriously as long as one pays the tax they were meant to pay while working.

Please someone respond asap

My collegue got an unconditional offer in DMU and have paid their 4,000 GBP compulsory pymt. Now she got a mail for online pre registration for course of study (though their site states you must pay 50% of tuition by January 31st) that requires her to indicate her UK address n UK phone number. Even if she has an address to fill, she doesn't have a phone number.
Please who can advice us on what to do.

Wow! Do you mean I should avoid University of Sunderland if I have any visa refusal from any country before? I am actually doing a pre-registration program there and only 4 schools do that in the UK of which their own tuition fees is the cheapest

I had a refusal once and they gave me admission. The school has no business with your immigration history. That is the Home offices' job.

Kindly offer help on where we could get cheaper furniture such as bed, mattress and electronics like fridge and washing machine. I'm due to arrive on a dependent spousal visa and only wifey is going round looking for the houses.
Also for someone with USD notes in UK, how can one repatriate that back to Naija. The exchange rates at the post office and banks are terrible.

Jesus Christ!!! I noticed a letter missing on one of my kids surname. Surname is Obayuwana and the Wakanow guys typed Obayuana on his ticket. We are boarding Thursday morning. When I called them , they said the ticket is confirmed by Qatar airways. They can't edit it. Any advice for your sister
