As a health care assistant is £1500 good enough for one that wants to brings her partner? The HCA earns £2000 as gross with lot of overtime and after deductions, take home is £1500.

What can one do to increase to this level of pay pls? I feel is too small.

Can one really save from this £1500 every month?

I am a post graduate student. When I came, there was lockdown for a long time so I had to make do with a virtual bank account but I need a real one now as the virtual account restricts me. Also, how do I stop missing my way whenever I go out? And knowing the right bus to enter too. Google map doesn't help sometimes, some other times, when I ask questions, most of the people are just like me trying to find their way too.

Today, I was to enter Bus 21, I did enter 21 but this one wasn't going my way.. Its confusing sometimes.
I don waka lost plenty times...whew.

My hubby applied in August and said he just heard back from Nigeria embassy last week asking him to come this week for capture..however in his case he was giving a date and time. Then I asked that but how does naija embassy know if that time is OK by the applicant and he said somewhere in the mail states that if that time is not suitable then you can come anytime within a 2 weeks time frame.

So I am telling you as I heard without seeing the mail. The last part makes me conclude that you can go there and walk in. Worse case go with a copy of the letter that shows no time or date given

You are part of the problem, you can’t bribe your way out of the problem, you can’t keep bribing the officials and still complain about the system.

A lot of people get their passports through DIY without bribing anyone.

Individually we have to start somewhere, who will do it for us? You bribed your way into a position of authority you will look away when the corrupt practices is going on because you are part of it .

At our very little level let’s condemn what is wrong and practically do what is right .

The UK is corrupt true but they still look after themselves, keep the stolen money within their system , invest in their system and support what is right. Nigerian is corrupt and wicked no matter how we look at it.

Very very few Nigerians are corrupt but majority give excuses.

They only accept passports.

Also, can we go for a visa interview on different dates?

They don't interview dependants, and you can submit your applications differently and have different days when you go to TLS for biometrics.

Never knew you'd have to vet your partner's certificate or statement of result.. lol. If your husband was working or running a good business before you met him, chances of you asking for certificates is very slim..
Admit, the guy isn't so sharp, but really, it's something that could happen.. Especially if the couple aren't in the same age bracket.. It's safe to assume the woman has always been a housewife/business woman till this point hence the man not really taking cognizance of it.
It is solely the woman's fault here though. 100% I am sure the poster and the sister knows it so no need to go back and forth throwing stones.

My advice: Tell your hubby and try and find another plan.. The hubby coming for Masters while she is the dependent. When he is done, she can then enroll for her own Bsc. Gives you guys more time in the UK. 2 years Msc + 2 years PSW + 3/4 years BSC +2 years PSW=9/10 years in the UK.

Even as a friend, you can't fake it for me that you are a graduate. Common! so many things are involved in 4-7 years of studying at the University. How about your pictures when you're in school? No transcripts or graduation booklet ? How about certificate? No course mate or lecturer? So the Parents too are not informed that their daughter didn't graduate from university? Hello guys, please i need some advice.

I got a job in the uk after doing several rounds of interview but during the stage of processing, they took it back because of the money involved in processing( i live in Nigeria) since then, i have been applying to so many other hospital in the Uk and in Nigeria with no luck( currently jobless at the moment lost it during covid)

The insecurities and everything happening in Nigeria is really my driving factor right now and also the fact that i have 6 years experience in my occupation ( IVF clinical embryologist) with measly pay

I have a BSc in biochemistry and currently rounding up my masters in biotechnology( online masters from a university in Spain. A scholarship i won) Also i am married with 1 child. I currently sell stuffs but i do not really make money of it.

I recently applied for an Msc in adult nursing in the Uk because i am hoping to relocate and give myself and my child a better future instead of wallowing here. i have the money i saved for it.

My questions is, can i work as a nurse after schooling or is it just a waste of money?

Is there a career path in towing this way?

Isnt it better than staying idle in Nigeria without any job?

Can i get a good job while schooling to at least take care of me and my family.

Please, i need all the advice i can get. Am i mistaking a mistake?

Forgive me for sounding this EMotional. I was severely discouraged about this idea by a family member and now i am confused.

Pls I need advices on behalf of my sister. Her husband wants her to relocate to the UK with the children by going through education route (Master's). However, she didn't complete her University degree having discovered it was a fake admission in year 2.

Now the problem is, she never told her husband and she's very remorseful about it. Although she's willing to tell him but It might be disastrous if she does that right now.

Pls what course can she do in the UK with her 90's WAEC certificate taking the education gap into consideration and coupled with the fact that she needs to bring her children along?

If I understand him correctly, by flat he is referring to shared apartment.

I am talking from my own experience. If you are looking for a flat to rent (not airbandb) in an apartment (when you have kids - outside London), please go ahead to look. You might get lucky.

I have rented up to a month before without issues. For those who are coming into the UK with kids, please note that, it is nearly impossible for you to get a flat to rent in a building (except your destination is London).

So, look for "houses" instead. You can search for one-bedroom houses, two-bedroom terraced, semi detached or detached houses or self contain houses. If you are searching for flat, it will be near impossible for you to get one as many flats are for people who don't have children.

Also, it's best if you try to use places like www.openrent.co.uk as you will be talking directly to Landlords and you can negotiate with them. If you go on Rightmove, you will be speaking mostly with agents. I hope that helps.

Been following this thread for a while,
I have some questions to ask.

I plan on moving to the UK in September for my masters, shortly after my application began my wife got pregnant, initially I was planning to let her give birth here and then she could join me in December but she wants us to go together in July or August so that she can have her baby there in Sept. (ending of Sept).
My questions are the following;

1. If I want to add her as a dependant, considering that she’s pregnant and due in September would I need to put enough funds for her and the baby as proof of funds? Or for her alone.
2. Would it be okay to put the money for her proof of upkeep funds in her personal account and have mine in my own account? Asking this because I intend to use priority application for myself and standard for her.
3. For health insurance I want to also if the IHS fee I’ll pay for her will cover her delivery in the UK or if I would have to pay some delivery fees so that I can also work on setting aside the funds for that.

Looking forward to as much responses as possible.
