@mimilyrics, @duchess90 @theguyfromhr and others.

I have a little challenge.

So I did my bachelor's in a different country. When filling my visa form, I imputed my departure date from the country as the 19th of a a particular month.

But my stamped carries 20th of same month. What happened was the flight was meant to be 19th, but due to delays and immigration procedures, we had entered a new day which was 20th when my passport was stamped.

So do I write a cover letter to explain this and upload also.

Or is it something that's negligible.

Please answer urgently
I don't think this is an issue. As long as you have no overstays or anything like that, it's OK.

Hello All,

Can documents be uploaded to my profile after I have submitted my application using self service. I am about to apply for my visa and I am yet to get approval for study leave from my employer. Can I submit my visa application and then attach the study leave approval before my biometric capture/interveiw date?
You can go to your appointment with any document you want uploaded and you pay them to do so. I think that will set you back the 11k.

Oh really?

I know the United States doesn’t as they usually get advance pax manifests. So they already know who’s leaving.
These days almost all serious countries get advance pax manifests which they run against their watchlists.

Please someone should answer my query. I beg. Should I upload my checklist as well?
Follow the clear instructions on the checklist.

Especially where it says:
"You must only sign this checklist when you go to your appointment."

Hi, are you saying we shouldn't touch the funds at all?
From the UKVI guidance:

"The money you show us must be for your use for living in the UK. The full amount of this money - which should be held in the manner specified in the Immigration Rules - must continue to be available to you after your application is made, except for any money that has been paid for living costs."

Hi all, please does a child need parental consent letter if the child will be travelling with both parents to the UK?
Yes - it's specifically requested when you make an application for a child dependant.

I have similar question on this issue.
I am not married yet but will do before leaving the country. I plan to file for my wife to come as soon as possible.
Do I need to indicate am married while filling forms now?
If no, how do I inform concerned authorities that my status has changed and I now have a dependent I want to bring in?
I will be married before leaving.. How can I update my information to capture this important part so my wife can come in?
I honestly cannot say definitively what you should do in this situation. Perhaps someone who has been or knows of someone who has been in a situation where an imminent marriage was planned can help.
However two things:

1. Do not lie on the form by saying you are married now when you are not.

2. Assuming you are in an unavoidable hurry because your school will be opening in September/early October, if you are about to get married (i.e. you and your madam and the families have arranged everything) and you need to fill this form ASAP to make a September school start date, given that many Nigerians generally have an option of 3 ceremonies (traditional, registry, religious) is there no way at all you can advance your marriage, e.g. a) by going to a marriage registry this week while the religious or traditional ceremony or whatever you have planned comes when scheduled or conversely b) carrying out a valid traditional ceremony with the photos and all? (I'm well aware of people who have done the latter, dropping in from abroad for a week and completing all formalities and taking off again). Depending on where you are in the country, it may be possible to facilitate a state registry ceremony within days.

These are just suggestions.

Hi. Where did you fill the IOM data? Was it online or they gave you a form at the clinic? Why I'm asking is because whilst filling their form online, I did not see any where to input the UK address
There is a link to fill their form online, which I can't remember now, but the form at that link did have a space for inputting a UK address, and we used the address of the university there.

The chilling got me grin

But this 14 days thing is just crazy. Imagine being pumped up about being in a new country and boom you can’t even go out until after 14 days shocked shocked

It’s going to be a very different experience because it is practically house arrest.

Ps: Fine is £1000 grin
Crazy, man.
The logistics too - you arrive a new place, so organising a place to get food , internet, and all that might not be seamless if your freedom of movement is curtailed except for finding a shop to buy whatever it has in stock like it or not or ordering in pizza or whatever.

2020 will be a never-to-be-forgotten year smiley

Bro my accommodation contract starts in October but I was lucky to get an earlier date for my appointment, now I am thinking of traveling by late September if all things goes well. My problem now is that I entered my accommodation address on my application and also stating that I will be traveling by October. The plans now is to chill at my sister place in London before the start of my contract. I hope there won't be a problem at the POE?
I don't think there will be a problem with that.
You have secured accommodation in your university town and have proof of that; there should be nothing wrong with you quarantining for 14 days at a relative's place in a different city if you arrive the UK earlier than your accommodation contract starts and within the scope of whatever the rules on the new 90-day visa vignette allow.

Note that due to the current quarantine regulations, your "chilling at your sister's place" must be for 14 days.

Please gurus in the house, is it true that paying your full tuition fees can help prove you’re a genuine student?

Also can not mentioning the exact company you want to work after school (bsc) during the interview affect your chances of getting a visa?
I would say not necessarily to the first question and No to the second.
For the second question, you should have a good case as to why you want to spend this amount of money on a UK degree and not one from your home country.

Hi guys, good morning and happy Sunday
Please I have an enquiry

I am divorced and my wife has custody of our son, would I still need to mention him as a dependant for my visa application? And would I need any documentation as regards the divorce?

Would appreciate your input

Thank you
You should mention him where the form asks for such information.

But if your wife has custody you cannot take him along as a dependant.
If you declare your marital status as "divorced" or single, you don't need to provide any proof as that as you are not attempting to take along a partner as a dependant and there is consequently no need to prove any relationship to anyone.

That's not what I did, so you'll have to hear from those who have done that, but I think it should be OK.

Greetings everyone.... pls am new here but am Learning alot already. Pls can I use access bank domicilary account to make payments for visa and health surcharge? Has anyone used it before,? Was the payment smooth and fast? Thanks in advance.
All payments made using debit cards linked to domiciliary accounts are just as seamless as those made using naira cards (when the latter's limits are complied with).
I used an Access Bank naira card to pay the IHS and the process was seamless, so there is no reason to believe the domiciliary account version would be different.

Please my hubby is on sabbatical leave . So he decided to travel with me and our child for this 1year course am going for in addition to study for his upcoming exam in mid 2021 as a chartered suveyor with Nigerian ...etc . Please can he upload this letter as supporting document to his application as my dependent also travelling with me
He doesn't need to, no evidence clarifying why dependants are going is required in the guidelines, just proof of their maintenance funds.

That part of no2. Even after filling yes that I have been known with another name which I inputed. It only appeared as other given names while No still shows in that question asking if I have been known by another name which some persons here encountered same.

So what about me that rented an apartment because I have dependents, using the house address as my UK address does it calls for questioning?
No. You now have an address and you stated it.

If your course is > 13 months
Visa 473$
IHS 1020$

The 55£ is included in the visa fee for Visa.
I didn't use TLS V.I., but I think the bolded is incorrect - it's most probably the case that the 55 pounds is paid separately on the TLS website after you have paid the UKVI visa fee +IHS and are redirected to the TLS website to select your TLS location.

Sorry I mean TLS appointment.
Base self-service is at no cost in TLS Ikeja (you upload your documents yourself on the portal and appear at a given time to have your fingerprints and photo taken).
Any other value-added services such as assisted upload or timing-related amenities such as Flexi (walk-in any time on selected date) are paid.
TLS VI is NOT free - there's a flat base fee of 55 pounds for everyone ( a so-called User Pay Visa Application Centre).

God help us. In the place to fill if you hve travelled to any other country in the last 10years we made an error by clicking no. I have written a letter of correction to state the countries visited and all the information about it and i intend to submit it with my application online. I hope this will not lead to a refusal?
I honestly cannot say.
Hopefully someone who has been in a position where they made an error on their form can guide you better as to what to do in this case.

I don’t think there’s a need for any of this. The application form asks for details of all the countries you’ve been to in the last ten years or so. Including dates. Once you fill that in, there is no real need to provide anything else. Bio data page of your previous passport if you must.

The form splits it into a select list of countries and then ‘all others’. Best to avoid going over the top.
Travel history must obviously be important to the UK Home Office since they specifically ask about it in detail in their form, even for students.
So in line with their detailed questions, I think it appropriate to provide them with detailed evidence as well.

I never said this was necessary.
I just said that that was what we did.
Having already indicated the dates of previous travel, we thought to provide proof with scans of the relevant passport pages.
Apart from UK visas, which they have in their own records, how else will they be ableto verify what you have said?

Good evening. Please if a family opts to rent private accommodation, does the family need to secure the accommodation and show proof during the biometric capture/interview?
On the form you were asked where you would be accommodated in the UK and that was where you have to enter an address of any location, temporary or permanent, where you intend to stay.

What we did was to rent temporary accommodation, then explained in the form that this was only temporary as making arrangements for permanent accommodation from outside the UK was not desirable (need to inspect, assess location, etc.) so we would do so post-arrival. We uploaded proof of the securing of the temporary accommodation on the TLS portal.

The question wasn't asked during the interview, but I don't think you need to have a permanent place to live in now.

@TheGuyFromHR

You answered No to the above question.

It actually has two dimensions to it,

- Do I have to submit my old passport with the new one ?

- Do I have to print my old passport data page when submitting

which one are you saying No to?
Both.
Basically referring to the practice of sending in old passports when applying for visas so that they can see any travel history you have in an old passport(s). My wife and I both went along with old passports and they said submit only your current passport.

I might add - if you have any travel history in an old passport, scan out the visas as a pdf file and upload in the self-service platform/make copies to be uploaded for you if going for the assisted service. In any event, the people at TLS will not take more than one passport from you.

1)Please am i suppose to print passport data page even though am submitting the passport? Yes
2)Do i have to submit my old passport with the new one including printing it? No.
3)What do I have to take along with me as self-service to my appointment? Just a copy of your passport, the first page of the document checklist and a printout of your appointment confirmation from TLS
.
