For Benin I'll have an e-visa, Ghana a proper visa, and Togo has visa-on-arrival but only if the border is open, otherwise I'd need to fly in.
Thanks for all the advice. I think I'll either fly into or fly right over Togo, unless their borders open soonish. Wouldn't want to be stopped by guards all the time without a stamp in my passport.
ok that's better. I wish you all the best. Enjoy your trip.

This is really helpful, thank you.

I am white, and I expect that will make it interesting. But I am no millionaire!
Are your instructions still good, other than needing to pay more? Even the part about "take a bike accross the border through the bush"?

Do you know if northern benin-togo border crossings are also "unofficially open"? Like near Djougou or Boukoumbe?
hmmm since you are white, it gets more tricky. Everyone will want to extort you. One more question, does your passport Have visa free access to these countries? Or can you get visa at the border?

I don't think you would have problem at the Benin and Togo side. I've seen whites crossing that border before the same way. But my concern will be in the Ghana side. You know Togo border is not open so you can't stamp out. But Ghana border is open, but you can't stamp in because you came In unofficially. Ghanaian immigration are sometimes not friendly to foreigners.

As for the northern Togo and Benin borders, I've never been there so I don't know.

If it's adventure you are looking for, you are sure going to have lots of it grin

But if you want to avoid all these, just go by air, one hour you are in Ghana. By road, the journey is at least, 18hours.

0. Set the rules and boundaries early (during courtship)

1. Have money (don't let your pastor deceive you that you need to marry early even if you're broke and God will provide after marriage)
2. Know how to Bleep without drugs (extremely important)
3. Invest less emotions but be caring
4. Know how to control your anger and don't be abusive, but...
5. If she f*cks up, tell her to f*ck off without saying a word (thank God you didn't invest more emotions than her)
6. Have access to her phone and chats and also let her have access to yours
7. Be cooperative, but don't let her be manipulative
8. Don't allow in-laws control your marriage or have too much access to your day-to-day family affairs
9. Maintain the principles you had at the dating stage, but amend a couple of them that aren't against your core value
10. Have only children you can take care of — don't born more than you can handle and end up increasing the rate of crime and prostitution through your numerous hungry children
11. Add humor and playfulness in your marriage
12. Communicate and discuss things
13. Be honest and trustworthy — same as her
14. Fear God, not her family or threat to leave
15. And finally, live in peace or walk away if you can't find peace of mind in the marriage anymore

Extra tip Learn to give each other full-body massage at least 4 time a month — it relieves stress, brings calmness, and gives peace to mind. :

If you haven't received a full-body massage, you're missing.
May I add.... With happy ending grin

No Nigerian passport, but someone from Lagos can walk me up to the border. We will probably take the ferry from CMS to Badagry to avoid most of the checkpoints and traffic and then take motorbikes the rest of the way. But I do speak phonne cheesy

Are there plans to open the Togolese border in the next couple months?

> But you can of course unofficially pass through any of those borders.
Is this true for Togo too? I was hoping to cross at Ketao/Kemerida.

(Also, thanks TheMan3. No need for suffering here)
if you take the ferry to badagry, it's more because of the bad roads and safety reason not because of the check points. There are about 41 check point from badagry to seme border. Infact checkpoints actually starts from badagry.
But I will still advise you take the boat though since you are a foreigner.

You should be able to cross the Nigerian border into Benin with no stress.

As for Togo, it's very very easy to pass unofficially. Take a taxi from seme to Togo, it usually costs arround 15,000cfa. The driver will do all the bribe on your behalf. You will not even need to get out of the car. Secondly, when you get to the Ghana border, you will have to take a bike accross the border through the bush part because you can't stamp your passport out of Togo because Togo border is not yet open. But don't worry it's safe.

Thirdly, when you get to Ghana, take a taxi to Accra, it's usually arround 80cedis. But pay the driver extra so he can do the settlement on the road on your behalf. It's not much just negotiate with him.

Fourthly, Welcome to Accra

But one last question, are you white or black? If you are black all these will be very easy because you can just blend in. But if you are white, you money will definitely be higher because they think you are automatically a millionaire lol

For being trans?

One may have a problem against gay people , that may even be understandable. But having a problem with someone who is conflicted on his/her gender should require understanding and not opposition.

Believe me, these people wouldn't wish it on themselves.
what are you saying and who are those liking this post selfhuh

They wished it on them selves. How can a man just say he now feels like a woman and starts dressing like one, starts twisting waist that's not there, starts forming soft strong voice. Is that normal?

I'm an American hoping to make a trip from Lagos to Ghana by land.

Is Seme border open to go to Benin?
What about from Benin to Togo at Hilla-Condji?
Togo to Ghana?

I found this recent article that makes it sound like Seme border is open:
https://punchng.com/border-reopening-clearing-agents-knock-fg-say-closure-disastrous/

And I read Ghana is open. I can't tell if Togo is open.

Thanks!
seme border Is very open, the only one is Togo still closed. Ghana is open. But you can of course unofficially pass through any of those borders.

Do you have a Nigerian passport? If you do no problem. But if you have only American passport and speak phonne.... Pls don't try it alone.
TravelRe: How To Get To Guyana Without Transit Visa by TheMan3(op): 12:51am On May 01, 2022
dasparrow:
He will have to fly using Turkish Airlines. Turkish Airlines is part of the STAR ALLIANCE network. They have an interline agreement with Copa Airlines which is a Panamanian Airline that flies to several countries in Central and South America. Guyana is located in South America.

What is an interline agreement? It is a voluntary commercial agreement between individual airlines to handle passengers traveling on itineraries that require multiple flights on multiple airlines.

So, tell your friend to go to the Turkish Airlines office located at Plot 1061 Leadway House, 1ST Floor, Herbert Macaulay Way, Abuja . Tell him to tell Turkish Airlines that they should book his ticket in such a way that he will fly from Lagos or Abuja to Istanbul Turkey using Turkish Airlines.

Then change flights in Istanbul Turkey to another Turkish Airline flight going to Panama. From Panama he will catch Copa Airlines which will take him directly to Guyana.

Once he checks in his luggage, he will get his luggage at his final destination which is Guyana. He does not need to pick up his luggage in Istanbul and Panama and check it back in. Also, he will not be charged multiple times for his airline ticket. He will be charged a one time round trip airline ticket despite the fact that he will need to transit through 2 different airports located in 2 different countries.

Also, he does NOT need a transit visa for Turkey as long as he does not intend on exiting the airport while on transit. He also does NOT need a transit visa for Panama as long as he is not exiting the airport and his transit wait time within the airport is within 12 hours. So, as long as he does not have to wait longer than 12 hours in the airport in Panama for his flight connection to Guyana, he will be fine.

So, let me show you how the itinerary will approximately look like using the actual airport codes in bracket. Let's assume his city of departure in Nigeria is Abuja. It will look like this:

Abuja (ABV) to Istanbul (IST) to Panama (PTY) to Guyana (GEO)

Let me give you the name of the airports:

ABV : Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport Abuja

IST : Istanbul Airport (Turkey)

PTY : Tocumen International Airport (Panama)

GEO : Cheddi Jagan International Airport (Guyana)

I just want to add that I am neither a travel agent nor do I work for Turkish or Copa Airlines. I was once in your friend's shoes. I needed to travel to that region of the world directly from Nigeria and found myself wondering on how to get there since acquiring a transit visa for a 1st world country from Nigeria can be so difficult. God showed me the way after I unsuccessfully tried to figure it out on my own and I was able to travel and get to my destination successfully. Hence, my decision to assist you and everyone else reading this thread with this travel information.

Anyone traveling to South and Central America or to Jamaica from Nigeria is advised to use this route especially if you are traveling with a Nigerian passport and you don't have a transit visa for the UK, USA and the likes.

Safe travels!
thank you soooooo much. Very helpful.

And since you are an African, what are you doing to change that? Keep depending on oyibo countries. What you saw happen to African students in Ukraine trying to flee the war is child's play to what will happen to Africans/Black people in the future who live in predominately oyibo populated and oyibo governed countries.
