Jesus did not forbid the new Church from tithe. The church he met when he was on earth had teachers, scribes and the rest...no levites but yet they were paying tithes and making a show of it that he, Jesus had to teach them the kingdom order for giving. He did not stop tithe..... See Matt 23:23.... Tithe is received by men but is acknowledged by God in heaven....Heb 7:8

The two top priorities of a church are to help prepare you spiritually for Judgement Day....and to help the poor. The top priority of a business....is to make profit/accumulate wealth.

When you make this kind of emphatic statement or contribution, it is best to use the scripture as your basis. Where did you get the two points from the scripture..... Jesus said I have come that they might have live and have it more abundantly.... Firstly, God doesn't give money since there is no money in heaven. If you receive money from God then it has to be counterfeit since it is government of nations that prints money. God gives power to get wealth through the manifestation of his blessings in and upon your life....see Deut 8 :18

secondly, Christ wore quality clothings. The soldiers had to Cast lots after he had died to share his clothes... You don't cast lot over rags...see Matt 27:35... Mention one of them that has a levy for harvest. Annual dues, one that taxes the individual on the basis of their places of origin like an Igbo woman would be expected to pay money to the church through the Igbo Catholic community. Is there any one of them that prints raffle booklets and distributes same to societies within the church on sale or pay basis?

Is there anyone that takes offering because there is a diocesan levy they need to pay as a church?

Mentioning a pentecostal church you attended for like three months within which they focused majorly on tithe and offering would do more to your contribution here than a general and sweeping statement.


The Catholic Church is not joining them. She is at the forefront of reaping members of through bazaar, raffle draws, first and second collection, annual dues for men and women, launching and booking of mass then new ones like family harvest. One can go on and on mentioning different schemes designed to rake in money, for the church.


Money for those orphanages dint come from the regular offerings of the church, I hope you know that, it is from a special offering they take for them and even for seminary.

It all comes after the main church offering..., they start it from the second offering when they will announce it and who it is going for.

I attended the church of Jehovah's Witnesses and i noticed they don't compel people to pay Tithes and Offerings like most Pentecostal churches.

All they have is a box where any willing attendee is free to drop whatever he or she desires. No POS, no long sermon, no threat on giving like most Pentecostal churches. Jesus Christ never forced people to give and Christians are meant to emulate Christ.

I don’t like their doctrines but on this i am impressed.

It's called FRAUD. Promising people what they can't see even when they die for a fee.

Only the Catholic Church had done something like fraud when they promised the members a straight entry into heaven without the need for purgatory if they paid a certain fee. Even the popes used it to galvanised the members during their inquisition and crusades by promising that I ly one who died in the course of those campaigns would go to heaven without the temporary holding bay they called purgatory.

Hadi Sirika, minister of state for aviation, says the federal government is not paying $300 million for a five per cent stake in Nigeria Air.

In responses to questions raised about the national carrier which was launched on Wednesday, July 18, Sirika said the government is providing startup capital for the airline.

“The government is not funding the entire project. It’s just providing startup capital in the form of an upfront grant/viability gap funding. Once the strategic equity investor is in place, they will be expected to build on the initial investment made,” he said in the compilation by Everyday website.

“$8 million represents startup capital for offices etc required for takeoff. But $300 million is the entire airline cash flow funding requirements (aircraft, operations and working capital) for three years (2018, 2019 and 2020).

“This funding can be in the form of equity or debt. The financial model estimates cash flow requirements as follows 2018 ($55 million – $8 million is included here), 2019 ($100 million) and 2020 ($145 million).

“In order to ensure take-off of the airline in 2018, the government will provide $55 million upfront grant/viability gap funding to finance startup capital and pay commitment fees for aircraft to be leased for initial operations and deposit for new aircraft whose delivery will begin in 2021.”

The minister said the strategic investor will only become known after the public-private partnership procurement process is completed....


SHARES TO BE SOLD AFTER ONE YEAR OF OPERATIONS

Sirika said the company’s shares will be sold through an initial public offering after which the government will own five per cent equity.

“Government’s equity share held in trust for Nigerians will be devolved to Nigerians via an IPO.

“The government will retain only 5% equity, the list of shareholders then will be available to SEC and the Nigerian Stock Exchange.

“The rest of the 95% equity of Nigeria Air Limited will then be owned by the strategic equity investor and the general public.

“At that point, Nigeria Air Ltd becomes a public company subject to SEC, NSE and relevant CAMA rules for public companies.”

Speaking further, he said the airline will begin operations with dry leases and the domain, www.flynigeriaair.ng, will become active soon.

Someone has already registered nigeriaair.ng apparently in anticipation of a buy-out by the proposed airline.

I'm in a dilemma, let me start like this, when i and my husband first got married we did a joint business that fetched us a huge amount of money, the aim was to build a house, when we got the money, he decided to use his' for his parents (i had no problem with that) then mine for what we wanted to use it for

Two weeks ago we had a major misunderstanding, it was soo intense to the extent that he told me to park out of the house, in the heat of things i told him that cannot be possible that the house is in my name, he was shocked, saying it is impossible we built it together that it's in his name, i had to remind him what happened then, he was furious saying it was wrong of me to use my name, that he cant believe he has been staying in a house that does not belong to him, he told his family what i did claming victim, then he packed out saying he wont come home till i change the name to his full name, i begged him to no avail, i dont even know how to tell my people, imagine if it was in his name, i and the kids would have been out of the house by now, he has requested for transfer from his office to another state cos of this, who does that?? He cant expect me to change it to his name.

Pls i need other advise to go about this, he is a good man but he feels his ego has been bruised, i need other options.

I am not familiar with this issue but I believe that she may have decided to put her name only in those document as an insurance against your travelling out wth your sick dad. My attention was drawn to this forum and this topic https://www.nairaland.com/4617351/husbands-pride-wants-ruin-home#69371294 and it is sad that most people drew conclusion on a one sided story though i wouldnt blame those involved because they judged based on what was said and the individual involved needed public validation for her wrong doing, a public display i dont approve of but since external persons and relations are already involved i'd like to clear some details.

"Dee" comes from a very well to do family while i dont so when we got married, i made her feel we are in this together, not one above the other but as partners in EVERYTHING. To be fair to her she brought up the business idea we did years ago, in other to put forth money to start up, i made sure i had equal money as her for it, goal was to own a property, build et al. Unfortunately my dad's ailing health deteriorated to the extent that he had to be flown out, when the profit came, i told her and she agreed, she decided we split it into two so she use hers for the initial plan. As the first born i went with my dad, back here she got the property and started building, when i came back the remaining money with me was used to complete it, what was left was used for my parents house. Being a trust worthy person i feel she is, i didnt bother to check documents cos i felt she would do the right thing by putting both our names which she kept in a bank.

Now, i work and own other businesses so i'm always in contact with alot of people from both genders so to her she feels i may have lost guard by cheating which is not true: i dont have password on my phones, i always make and receive calls right in front of her but she still think i'm hiding something and that was the genesis of the problem weeks ago, i rebuked her to cut it out immediately but she was out for blood, she insulted me like never before, when i didnt give her face, she extended her TOXIC words to my parents, my family, my background and my personality, that was when i lost it, if not for my cousin that was there i would have hit her, out of anger i told her to get the hell out of the house which of course i didnt mean, then she shocked me saying the house is ONLY in her name, i was numb and speechless, in other for me not to react in a brutal way i left the house, told her i would never step there again if she doesnt change it to my name ONLY. My cousin who was there when it happened told my people, they called me so i had to explain things, right now her family knows what happened and none is supporting her.

YES i said she should put my name only cos she belittled and betrayed me which tells me if it was in both our names she will raise shoulder and feel above me.YES i requested for transfer and i will go through with it, i cannot be away from my kids and still be in the same state, it doesnt make, when it is sucessful, i will get a place conducive amd comfortable for my kids, they will be with me. I told her recently not to bother with the name change anymore, she can have the house all to herself for all i care.

I wont divorce her because i dont believe in that, once i move with the kids she can come along if she wants but right now we are seperated. I wanted a partner, she displayed stupidity not smartness, what the future holds i dont know, she made her bed she should lay on it.
