Please can you name some schools that waive application fee and how can you go about it... am I to mail the school. If yes, can you please tell me alittle about how the body of the mail should look like
Your response would really be appreciated !!
In light of maximum information sharing...these schools waived application fees for me

Last year, most schools waived application fees for fall 2021 and Spring 2022. I just hope it will be the same fall 2022.

Some of the schools I can remember are

1. Western Illinois University
2. Marquette University
3. Clarkston University
4. University of Arkansas at little rock
5. University of Texas, Rio Grande Valley
6. Rensselaer Polytechnic institute
7. University of Rochester.
8. Michigan Technological University
9. University of Delaware.
10. Northeastern University
11. Steven's Institute of Technology

If you spend 750k to Arkansas, bro you have money o. There are other airlines available which can access the US and you won't spend so much. Safe journey.
Maybe I don't have enough information, if you do, can you please point me in the right direction?

Hello everyone, please how true is it that schools in the U.S are no longer issuing I-20. Is there anyone that is still expecting I-20 for this 2021 fall session? My school is Morgan State University and I have sent all the required documents for my I-20 for over a week now but still no response. I have also sent two reminder emails, still no response. Please I'll like to know if there's any other person experiencing this, especially those that got admitted into Morgan State University. Thanks.
Most grad school admission office is swamped with emails this period, ALWAYS do well to place a call to them. It might be expensive, but very effective. Goodluck.

Baba, Turkish airline na 450k+
I don't think your information is wholly correct either. Now, it depends on alot of factors...

1. Your destination.
2. How many stops.
3. When you booked, booking like 40+ days ahead helps.
4. The period you book. August is especially crazy.

With this, flight to some destinations, 2 stops in August will be very expensive. Like my destination, Little Rock, it's at least 750k.

Cheers!!!

Vo: why or what's your purpose in USA/ Travel plan.
Me: I'm going to the US to pursue my masters degree in social work at Morgan state university in Baltimore.
Vo: why this course?
Me: caring for people especially the vulnerables has always been my passion and what I love to do. I've decided to master in social work as it tend to turn my passion into a profession.
Vo: what's your study plan?
Me: I would be offering just 4 courses in my first semester and a total of 60 credit for the 24 month course with a field practicum which last 16 hours a week. Part of my courses would be GENERALIST SOCIAL WORK PRACTISE, SOCIAL WELFARE & URBAN ECONOMICS, and RESEARCH AND URBAN SOCIAL PROBLEMS..
Vo: Why did you choose this school?
Me: the Cost of Attendance is quite affordable compare to other schools. And also the school offers graduate internship within the two years of study.it has a strong collaboration with various industries which I think would help harness the skills and knowledge to transform what is thought in class to practical use.
Vo: what will this course do for you?
Me: this degree would equip me with the skills and knowledge i need to be a successful social worker..it would prepare for a better position In NGOs I've volunteered for and government agencies upon my return to Nigeria.
Vo: what's your plan after graduation/ what's this degree do for you?
Me: As I've said earlier, upon the completion of my course, in intend returning to nigeria to work with gov/ private institutions to improve or ameliorate the well-being of vulnerable Nigerians, then later start my own NGO which will focus children with specific health challenges such as children with hoes on the heart and many more.
Vo: who would be sponsoring your program?
Me:y Aunt will be sponsoring my Cost of Attendance while myself and my dad would be handling the Living Expenses.
Vo: what doest your Aunt do?
Me: she's a nurse in the Uk.
Vo: Are you married?
Me: not yet but I've a fiancee who works as a nurse in a govt. General hospital.
Vi: have you travelled before?
Me: No
Vo: where do you work/ what do you do?
Me: I currently work in a bank but uses my weekends and leave for my volunteering work..
Vo: so why the change of career?
Me: I have never wanted to be a banker but I had to pick it up as the job offer came as an opportunity..so I decided to take it and save-up to prepare myself for my career goal and objectives in social work.
People will help advise you better if you included what your undergrad program is and how long ago you graduated, also, what and what you have been doing since then. Goodluck

I just started studying with the Manhattan guide for the quantitative section and it’s pretty detailed too but like a whole new information

Thanks

Just a tip for anyone currently self studying or planning to self study for the GRE and isn’t able to get all the preparation textbooks (cause they’re quite a lot for one exam).
Get Kaplan. It’s extremelyyyyy detailed and contains A LOT of explanations on how to answer each question and each section. I bought the official GRE Guide by ETS for the obvious reason that it’s made by the test makers but I use Kaplan from my lesson center to study whenever I’m there and the GRE Guide when I’m home and I’ve seen the clear difference in both textbooks.

Goodluck to everyone, including myself, currently preparing for this exam! 320> for all of us! Amen.
Dear Steph,

From experience, Kaplan is only good enough for Verbal and Analytical writing. But for Quantitative, it didn't do enough justice to it.

I would strongly recommend the Manhattan guide for the Quantitative, when you done with the books use the Manhattan 5lb to check your standing and how far you have gone.

Wish you all the best in your test. Regards.

To buttress my point, when you finish studying the quantitative in the Kaplan guide, go online and take their practice test, you will wonder if it's the same people who made the book set those questions.

Thanks for your well thought-out response, I really appreciate. I am just few weeks away from being a graduate here in school. Already, I've gotten some materials on Gre for preparation. I actually wanted to know if scholarships abounds for the course(s) i.e (Agricultural and Bioresources Engineering or Biosystems Engineering) I mentioned in any of the U.S. schools. From my research so far, I only know of McGill in Canada.
Ps: WES Unofficial gpa 3.54/4 as well as graduating top of my class.
I'm sorry to ask, but are you a zikite?

Thank you Chief, I will be taking the TOEFL based on the recommendations I have received so far, for the GRE, it was not required at all not due to covid19....so I guess there's no need.

However on the issue of WES, most school websites I have visited didn't mention transcript evaluation, most of them only states unofficial transcript for admission and official transcript should be mailed following admission offers.....only 1 out of the 4 schools is asking for official transcript sent from my university before admission....that's why I'm thinking maybe it's not necessary to do WES evaluation, you know all these things cost money....or is it a must to still do it whether its stated or not, thanks.
Yes, WES evaluation costs money jare. What most people do is, they look for schools that will evaluate your application based on unofficial transcripts just like you have done. When you get admitted, possibly funded... Then you can go ahead and send in the official one.

Have you heard of kmf.com?

It's a site for GRE practice.

Both Kaplan and KMF are good.
Kaplan has one of the most difficult online practise tests. Sometimes i wonder if they expect people do answer those questions by reading that their GRE hardcopy guide, their guide is utterly deficient.

Please guys I have a minor dilemma here, I intend to apply for PhD for fall 2022, now here is the problem none of my intended schools require WES evaluation, GRE nor TOEFL. But I intend to do at least one of these in order to have a robust application and also appear as a serious student. But I can only afford only one option due to paucity of funds so I'm confused which one of those three should I go for, thanks.
This is kinda surprising to say the least, how then can they verify your grades and results?

1. For the WES, is it that they accept other forms of transcripts evaluation?
2. For the GRE, is it that they said it's not needed for Ph.D. prospective students, or it was waived maybe due to covid? because from experience, even if they say it's optional, they will still say if you have taken the test, submit your scores.
3. I understand many schools will waive the English proficiency requirement, but some schools still use it to evaluate for T.A/G.A/R.A positions.

In summary, if you can, take the GRE and TOEFL, aside for admission and funding reasons, it can also help show readiness for graduate study during Visa interviews, although not all V.O ask though.

Goodluck!!!

If you have someone or somewhere you can stay in the US book a closer date in July to reduce air fare. You may also arrange for housing before you touch base so that you will have somewhere to stay when you book a close date. However, their may be personal reasons why you want to travel in August. Best!
Exactly, I can't go any time before 10-13th of August. Phew

Experienced international travelers please I'm in a dilemma.

So, I'm trying to book a flight to Little Rock, Arkansas for August 10-13th, any of those 4 days. I used to think the farther the travel date the better, but I'm seeing something different. Those August dates are more expensive than booking for a tomorrow or next travel date by as much as 50k.

So, please, what do y'all suggest? Should I wait, maybe the price will come down, or should I book because the price might go up again?

Thank you.
Guys please o, I need opinions

Hello, you have a good profile already. Try to take the GRE and aim to score at least 300. You don’t have to pay anyone anything. You have all the information you need here. I repeat don’t pay anyone you honestly don’t need to. You can check out these schools;
University of Akron
University of Alabama Birmingham
Wish you the best.
I concur. Your profile is awesome, just take your GRE and TOEFL and make your applications. Goodluck.

I feel it would help the guy. But I would advise that the guy asking question should take IELTS or anyone plus GRE considering his grade to boost his funding chance.
I got funding for MSc. What I usually advise people...take all necessary tests that will help boost your chances.. GRE and TOEFL and maybe other certificate exams that are applicable to your program like this Actuarial Science have like 5-7 professional exams.
